skyeyemx
Ah yes, the Infernus, the fastest car in San Andreas with the lowest drag multiplier and a top speed of 240 km/h. Best car for street racing, right? Wrong. The Infernus' 4WD powertrain gives it its' acceleration, but takes away one crucial aspect; turning ability. And a car's gonna have to turn sometime. Due to being 4 wheel drive, the car has very noticeable understeer, to the point that if you wanted to turn a corner, you'd have to slow down further than a comparable rear wheel drive car. Thus, even though the Infernus may win a drag race, it isn't going to be the most effective at street racing, where turning corners and dodging traffic takes priority over having pure speed. What would be the best car, then? We need a car with speed, stability, rear wheel drive, and still responsive turning. This criteria leaves three choices for "best car"; the Cheetah, Bullet, and Hotring Racer. (I omit the Super GT because it handles like wet sh*t, and I omit the Turismo because it's got 4 wheel drive, and suffers the same chronic understeer that the Infernus does.) Pretty long car geek sh*t below, skip it if you want Spoiler According to handling.cfg, the Bullet and Cheetah share the same engine acceleration, the same top speed (230 km/h), and the same mass (1200 kg), all of these outperform the Hotring with less weight, so the Hotring is out. One slight saving grace for the Hotring Racer is its' traction multiplier of 0.85, one of the highest of any performance car in the game. It also has pretty good brakes, with a 10.0 brake force. Following through handling.cfg, the Bullet has a 2% traction bias to the rear, giving the rear wheels slightly more traction, as well as having slightly less drag, at a 1.8, rather than the Cheetah's 2.0. This means that the Bullet will be ever so slightly faster in a straight line than the Cheetah. However, Cheetah may steer a bit better due to perfect 50/50 weight distribution. The Cheetah also has slightly better traction, with a 0.8 traction multiplier, over the Bullet's 0.75, and the real winner is the Cheetah's significantly better brakes, with a max deceleration of 11.1 ms^2, over the Bullet's 8.0 ms^2. This means that a Cheetah can hold its' speed further, and brake into a turn later than a Bullet can, allowing it to stay faster for longer. Put short, the Infernus is a fast boi, but cant turn for crap, and turning is important because streets have a lotta corners and cars. Use Cheetah for street racing because it turns and brakes very good, and still goes fast. If that ain't available, a Bullet or Hotring will suffice. Super Shizuku
I don't think this topic should belong to that since it is mainly talking about the best car overall. And OP, I don't think Hotring should be categorized as one of the best cars since it can screw you over when you are landing from a slight jump. Personally, my only problem with Turismo is just its stability after an accident ram onto car(s). Other than that, it's okay.
SeanAlgerian
Could we say that Infernus car for racers gamers, that like speed, if you try Infernus and it's crash many time on you, It's speed, if you try and try you will handle it, if you don't want, how about you try Elegy?GTA SA is full of great cars, don't think the developers are dumb and idiots. rhans
For Wu Zi Mu/Badlands A the best choice seems to be Bullet (which is the only race that allows you to choose the car, except for the Lowrider race if you use a glitch). Today the record just has been beaten again, at 2:04 : The best I ever seen by an Infernus was 2:14, but the racer was probably much less skileed than this guy. That has absolutely nothing to do with the matter at hand. My point was, though the Infernus has the highest top speed, its' cornering ability is utter crap, so for general street racing, you'll get places faster with a car that can turn and brake better, such as the Bullet and Cheetah. Also, grammar please? Edited July 17, 2018 by skyeyemx
Ghost Pulaski
Turismo. Just as fast, but with a lot better handling

Haxardous
I don't think so, within 3D franchise going more than 30fps would ruin the game such as vehicles handling, i used to play racing alot thought within MTA & SAMP as it shows that MTA has modified handlings. MISSINGSTRING
Power Slide man, that makes the infernus the best, even better if you instal nitrous, you can make very quick, sharp, thight turns by doing power slides
Icanhandlerejection
My experience of San Andreas is limited to the ps2 version of the game in which three of the street races were story missions, in two of them you had the option of using whatever car you brought to the race (the lowrider race required the car had hops obviously); in tbe first badlands race you could bring any car and my choice was always the modern taxicab (as opposed to the checkered cab variety). It was my vehicle of choice as it had enough speed (regardless of having nitro or not) and handle well the different racing surfaces while maintaining its performance despite taking damage from the other cars in the race. What is the best FPS for getting the best times (performance wise), without caring much about realistic aspects? My PC is rather bad so I can only reach about 70 FPS, and I got about 2 or 3 seconds less in some of the races in SA. Should it become possible to get even better results with higher FPS than this? I heard this is the reason why speedruns must happen at the standard 25 FPS.
