Best Free Cars List

This is a list of (my personal opinion) the best free vehicles in GTA online (so not all...) who you can literally steal from the street en store in your garage or customize at LS.

Sure you pay for LS upgrades, but the vehicle is free. So for everyone who is looking for nice cars for free or a beginner, I hope this list will help you.

Disclaimer:
This list is made on July 9^th 2018. Rockstar will put some vehicles for purchase on the southern San Andreas Superauto website in the future so witch in some cases will mean that the vehicle you pick on the street no longer can be stored.
Some vehicles will have purchasable variants but that are other editions of that vehicle witch will be explained in the overview.
This list are only vehicles that can be stored and upgraded at LS.

New player? BE SURE to head to LS Customs when you have a vehicle you like and put a tracker and insurance on it.
That way you create a personal vehicle and you can call Mors Mutual to get your car back when it is destroyed.

Note: There is absolutely no super car that can be stored after you steal it of the street. All super cars have to be bought. But no worries, there are some very nice and fast sports vehicles for free.

Compacts

Nothing special. It looks okay and there are some upgrades at LS besides the standard ones.
Spawns: Mostly during day time and in the area around LS in Burton and the Shopping Mall.

Weeny Issi

A nice little car, with engine and turbo upgrade it gets a decent speed. Only convertible version.
Spawns: Almost all day and about everywhere in Los Santos.


Sports cars

Benefactor Swartzer

This vehicle has standard a V12 engine but with the engine and turbo upgrade this vehicle gets a very nice speed. Also there are very nice upgrades for this vehicle like bumpers, spoilers, grills, fenders etc.
Spawns: In the morning and late afternoon in the upper-class areas like Rockford Hills and the industrial area La Mesa at the junction at LS. NOTE: This vehicle drives around without a Benefactor emblem on the grill standard, this can be applied at the LS customs if you want.

Ubermacht Sentinels There are 3 editions. The standard one, The convertible and the rare XS version.

These are nice sport cars. Not very much customization options at LS (except the XS version). But they have a decent speed.
Spawns: The regular Sentinel spawns almost all day throughout the City. The Convertible version spawns in the morning and late afternoon-early evening time in the upper class areas. You can recognize the convertible version at the colours (usually its a white car with black or red roof).
XS version Spawns only between 0:00 and 3:00 in the night at the intersection next to Tequila-la-la. It is ether yellow with red wheels or blue with a nice spoiler on the back.

Schyster Fusilade

Nice looking car, only standard options at LS. Great handling and a good speed.
Spawns: At daytime in the upper-class areas and downtown.
 

Muscle cars

Vapid Dominator (not the free versions a the website) but the regular one.

A very nice and fast muscle car, some upgrade options besides the standard ones at LS.
Spawns: Almost throughout the whole day at random places in the city. Also you find this car sometimes parked near LS locations.
 

SUV

Gallivanter Baller Second Generation

But it is on websites?, and a armoured version? Yest BUT, this is a long wheel base (LWB) version. The regular Baller can be stolen from the street. Only standard options at LS. But 3th in top speed in its class and it looks very nice.
Spawns: It can be a bit difficult sometimes to find the Baller Second Generation. But in the late afternoon you will find driving one of these on the bridge between Textile City and La Mesa.

Obey Rocoto

A decent speed, and some customization options at LS.

Spawns: Mostly in the late morning hours in the upper-class areas like the shops at Rockford Hills.
 

Benefactor Serrano

Spawns: At daytime and mostly around the Richards Majestic movie studios.

Yes there are purchasable versions for the Schafter, but that are the sporty V12 and the LWB versions. This one is the regular one, with is recognizable for the fog lights in the front bumper. Nice customization options at LS.
Spawns: You can find this car almost all day at the upper-class areas.
Color tip: Metallic Black with Diamond Blue pearlescent.

Felon is a sedan and the GT is a convertible edition. Very nice cars, good speed standard and even beter with upgrades. Only standard options at LS.
Spawns: You can find these cars almost all day at the upper-class areas.

 

Ocelot Jackal

Good looking car, specially when you want that business style look. Its a bit bigger than average cars so it has a decent speed when upgraded. Only standard options at LS.
Tip: Limo windows looks great on this car.

A iconic jeep, looks very nice. Much customization options at LS. You can create a off-road jeep or you make it clean black with limo windows for that iconic gangster style vehicle. Not very fast but decent speed when apply upgrades.

Spawns: You can find this car almost all day at the upper-class areas.

Vapid Sandking XL

A huge off road truck you want to keep out of the city. It is not fast even not with LS upgrades so beware. But it has a great off road capability specially sandy roads.
Spawns: This truck can be find mostly late afternoon driving on the road by the LS customs near the prison.

Canis Mesa

Nice jeep, not that great off-road but decent speed and good handling at sandy roads. With engine and turbo upgrade it has a good speed on tarmac.
Spawns: In the afternoon at the upper-class areas and beach areas.

Nice sports classic and much options at LS.
Spawns: This car spawns not very much, but if it does, you can find it most likely at the junction at LS Customs at Le Mesa.


You see there are some great cars you can literally can steel of the streets for free. Again these ar not all cars but (my personal opion) the best.

Note:

The Lampadati Felon sells for 9000 at LS Customs, the Felon GT sells 9500 at LS customs.
The Obey Roco sells for 8000 at LS customs.

The Sentinel XS (yellow) sells for 12.000 at LS customs and (blue) for 15.000

Nice list. Only thing I'd suggest if we're talking about free cars as a way of saving some cash - is to take the car into your garage before taking it to LSC. That way you'll be provided with a free tracker so it saves you a couple of grand for each car.

Easy money making method for beginners (thought this was an appropriate place to post this.)

 

-Find a Sandking XL(This version has 4 doors) and store it in your garage. They can be found near the Sandy Shores LS Customs

 

-Once you have your Sandking XL, take it to the RV Sales place in front of the Sandy Shores LS Customs at around 12:00-18:00 for a guaranteed spawn of the unique versions of the Sand King XL

         -These unique versions are either Blue with a unique matte-like texture (Worn Baby Blue) or Yellow with unique Pure White Wheels (whiter than the LS Customs White) These mods aren't available in LSC

 

-You can either keep these versions or sell them for $16,750- $17,850 depending on the version. You can sell this every 48 minutes or store a bunch of them in a garage for a later sale.

 

Hope this helps for all those beginners without Securoserv or Biker clubhouses.

This one is just a curiosity since the car isnt free: if nothing changed (I havent done it in quite some time), you can also use the Hermes to spawn those custom Sand Kings in the same rate (almost 100% chance if done correctly) as if you were driving one. I did it a lot of times.

Here is some more interesting suggestions:

 

Sports:

 

-Karin Sultan: Of all cars you can steal off the streets, this is probably the fastest one and seats 4 players, 4WD gives it a good handling on off-road and rain/snow conditions, can be upgraded to the legendary Sultan RS on Benny's once you have money enough for it(which opens up a even larger amount of tuning options, but it will kick your car upstairs to Super class in which the car is heavily outclassed - Still is a fun ride), spawns occasionally around Downtown LS and Little Seul.

 

-Bravado Buffalo: Faster than the normal Sultan off the line, but it won't hold up so well on corners, seats 4 and customization options are limited, spawns everywhere in Los Santos.

 

Muscles:

 

-Vapid Dominator: Of all OGs muscles cars this one was the fastest around a track if you could tame it's happy rear, now it's outclassed but it can still get you from A to B quite fast, it has some interesting tuning options, spawns very occasionally around LS.

 

-Declasse Sabre Turbo: Same deal as the Dominator but it trades oversteer with understeer, also quite fast once tuned and overall looks quite badass, you can upgrade it at Benny's once you have enough money to turn it into a Sabre Turbo Custom and give it even more cistomization parts...Or just let it be a sleeper car and surprise other players... it is one of the fastest muscle cars on high-speed tracks(top 5 if I'm not mistaken), spawns everywhere in LS you can't miss it.

 

Off-Road:

-Maibatsu Sanchez: you won't be out running anyone who riding a BF400 during a race, but it can still get the job done and overall it's quite a versatile motorcycle, one of the bests actually.

 

Don't bother with other car classes because nobody races with them, at all(except for Supers, but all Supers have trackers and can't be kept if stolen).

Its a personal opinion list, The Karen Sultan is nice, but even with the expensive benny's upgrade it is not that fast. This list is a list of (mostly) beginners who look for a nice and decent car for free. Or players who want maybe a rare care like the Sentinel XS. But over all its a personal opinion list. You can have your own personal favourites off course

Imponte Phoenix, glass roof panels, cool customization options for different 70's 80's or even 90's body styles, handles like a true muscle car should. One of my favourite cars that I have since gta online was launched, the same car I had for almost 5 years now, I'll never sell it and so shouldn't you, EVER

[Willy A. Jeep]

Will have to add some sedans to that list. Things like the Zirconium Stratum and Vapid Stanier are amazing beginner cars that can be useful for early-on group play and remain useful for racing in their own class. The Ruiner and Gauntlet are also both good entry-level muscle cars, with the Ruiner having much more controllable handling than some of the beefier muscle cars.

That's incorrect.

 

You can store any npc car from the streets regardless of whether you can purchase it or not as long as:

 

1) The car is from day 1 of the original 2013 game. Any dlc car found in traffic can not be stored.

 

2) The price of said car doesn't exceed $100,000.

 

3) The anti-duping system is not acting up.

Elegy?  Yeah, it's not street-capturable, but it is free.  And it was arguably the best thing available in the sports class, up until they ruined the class with the Pariah.

'Fast' compared to what, though? It's not top super car fast, but it's still fast. Faster than the average car.

[snorts] My Sultan with no Benny's mods at all, just full tuning, comes in just 2 seconds slower than a Racing Jester. That's pretty damn high for the sports class.

My list with focus on racing:

 

(You need to buy cars for having a chance to win races against decent opponents. Only exception is the coupes class and maybe Sultan on tracks with a lot of tubes.)

 

Sports: For racing: Sultan.

Futo is also a must-have for fun or challenges.

 

Coupes: For racing: Zion.

Felon and Jackal are good too.

 

SUV: For racing: uhmm ... A Baller, I guess.

Dubsta 2 is the SUV you want to steal though. Not for racing, but for selling.

 

Muscles: For racing: Dominator and Ruiner.

Get the pre-modded ones in front of LSC to save some bucks on costumizations.

 

Sports classic: For racing: Nope.

I like the gang-Peyote for cruising.

 

Compacts: For racing: Not really.

I like the Issi for cruising.

 

Off-road: For racing: Sanchez. Maybe a Blazer or Injection has some use. Maybe. Against Lvl 3 players.

A Bodhi can be found during one of the clubhouse missions. But if you can afford a clubhouse, you can afford a Bodhi too ...

 

Motorcycles: IIRC, Akuma and Bati aren't storable, so Double-T and Ruffiian are the ones to look for.

 

Sedans: For racing: Schafter

Tailgater and Fugitive are nice cars, imo. The Sedans class would be a nice racing class if it weren't for the dammed Schafter V12 and camera bugs. Really a shame.

 

Utilies: It is not wrong to own a Sadler.

Sultan is the best free car for a new player coming up off the street. In fact I joined this forum just for this same question like 4 years ago. I learned here where Sultans spawn and I stole one and it was my first car in my first 2 car garage (I lived in for months also).

Best free motorcycle is the Daemon. Classic 60’s chopper and the best sounding in the game imo

I forgot you can't store stolen Bati 801's and Akumas. But you can steal them and ride them.
