Starter Save - Created 8th July 2013 at 12:00 UTC
Chain Game Code - Version 8.1

RoQy1Xd.jpg

General Description

The Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game is a Forum-Based Relay Game for the PC Version of Grand Theft Auto III. Players take it in turns to complete Grand Theft Auto III "from Zero to Hero", starting a new Save File at the very beginning of the game and taking it all the way through to 100% Completion.

Anyone is allowed to join in and participate in the Chain Game, whether you are completely new to the Chain Game or are an existing player. Take a look through the 'Quick Start Guide' before you take your first turn, and then feel free to jump straight into the action! The Quick Start Guide will give you an overview of how the Chain Game works and will outline several important Chain Game Rules that must be followed during your turn.

The Chain Game Rules have been designed so that the game is played fairly and can progress smoothly, with all players being able to have an enjoyable experience of contributing to the Chain Game Goal, which is the creation of a 100% Save File. It is strongly advised that the full detailed set of 'Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game Rules' are read by all players at least once to ensure that the game can progress smoothly and all players have an enjoyable experience playing.

Quick Start Guide

This Quick Start Guide is designed to familiarise you with the rules of the Chain Game so that you can get right into the action and take your first turn!

Take a Turn
Start a Chain Game Turn by making a post in this Chain Game Round Thread to allow all players of the game to know you are taking a turn, so that they do not take one themselves. A simple "I'll take a turn" will be enough, but you're free to be as creative as you choose, as long as you make it clear you're taking one!

Download the Save File
A link to the Save File will be in the previous Chain Game Turn once completed.

Make Progress
The Time Limit to complete your Chain Game Turn is Three Hours. During this time, you are allowed to complete up to one Story or Payphone Mission and as many Side Missions as you wish.

You are not allowed to get Busted, Wasted or Fail a Mission, Rampage or Side Mission. If this happens, you must restart your turn or reload from the last valid save if you had saved earlier in your turn.
You are also not allowed to use any Cheats or Modifications during the duration of your turn and should play on an unmodified version of the game.

Saving and Uploading a Save File that is found to be breaking the Chain Game Rules will result in your turn being invalidated and any progress made during the turn will effectively be reverted to the previous Valid Turn.

Save and Upload
Complete your turn by saving the game and uploading the Save File. GTASnP.com is the preferred upload service for your Save File but you may use any file sharing website that grants free download access without the need for registration.

Edit Your Post
When you've uploaded your Save File, press the 'Edit' Button in the lower right corner of the post and use the Posting Format found below, or copied directly from the 'Chain Game' section of the GTASnP.com Page of your Save File. You can alter this format to include colors or fonts of your choice, but all posts are required to have full details of all you have completed, the overall completion percentage and a link to the Save File.

Posting Format

Completed Chain Game Turns are required to include information of what has been completed during the turn, the overall game completion percentage at the end and a link to the Save File for the next player to be able to download.

The following is a template of the recommended Posting Format that is used in your turn:

[b]Mission:[/b]
[b]Link:[/b]
[b]Completion:[/b]
[b]Notes:[/b]

You can copy and paste this template into your post when editing at the end of your turn, fully completing it to include all of the relevant information using the guidance below. You may customise the Posting Format to include Fonts and Colors of your choice and be as creative as you wish, but it is important that no information is missed out as this may cause confusion for other players.

Mission
The Mission Field should include the title of any Mission you have completed, and it is advised to also include the title of any Side Missions that have been completed. If you are using a translator or language option in the game which changes the Save File Title, it is recommended that you write the English Title in your post so that other players can understand what has been completed.

Link
The Link Field should include a URL to the uploaded Save File from your turn. You can use any text you wish as long as there is a working link on the text added by the Post Editor or using BBCode.

Completion
The Overall Game Completion Percentage should be noted here either taken directly from the 'Stats' Menu in the game or through the page of your Save File on GTASnP.com. This information is used for the Chain Game Statistics at the end of the round.

Notes
This is an Optional Field that may be included in your post to detail any additional information about your turn. You should use this area if you have picked up any collectibles, detailing how many you have collected and which they were, and also for the Times and Scores of any Side Missions you have completed which can be found in the 'Stats' Menu in game.

Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game Rules

The Chain Game Rules are designed to keep the game played fairly, so that all players are having an enjoyable experience and the game is making progress. All players should take the time to familiarise themselves with the rules and practices of the Chain Game to ensure that all rounds of the game can progress smoothly.

General Rules

The Chain Game is open for participation to any registered member of GTAForums.com. All Chain Game Players are required to follow the General Rules at all times during their participation in the Chain Game.

Grand Theft Auto III Game Version
All players of the Chain Game will need to own Grand Theft Auto III to be able to participate. This round of the Chain Game is being played on the PC Version of Grand Theft Auto III. All Versions of Grand Theft Auto III for PC are compatible with the Save File that is used in this Chain Game Round, which includes the CD/DVD Retail Version 1.0, the Version 1.1 Patch and the Steam Version.

The Respect Rule
Respect should be shown to all players of the Chain Game, irrespective of their age, gender, political views, nationality, sexuality or religious views. The Chain Game is played by members of all different backgrounds and this should be respected at all times. Harassment or other discriminatory behaviour is completely unacceptable and is a direct violation of the Chain Game and GTAForums Rules

Players that make mistakes and accidentally violate Chain Game Rules during their turn, whether a new or existing player, should not mocked or treated unfairly by other players of the game. Remember that everyone was once new to the game and anyone can make honest mistakes.

Use of the Chain Game Round Thread
The Chain Game Round Thread should be used by players to call turns and participate in the game. It is important that the posts made in the thread are kept on topic and that there are no unnecessary comments and replies that are not turn posts. If you’d like to contribute to the Chain Game Community outside of taking turns, you can do so by posting in the Chain Game Lounge or any of the Chain Game Discussion Groups.

The Chain Game Lounge and Discussion Groups
If you'd like to converse with your fellow Chain Game Players, share something from your turns or ask questions about the Chain Game then we have several discussion platforms that we welcome you to join us on:

The Chain Game Lounge - The central discussion area for the Chain Game Players and GTAForums Members. You should use the Lounge for any off topic discussions and to ask questions about the game. The Lounge is also where you will find any important information about the game and Chain Game Announcements that will be posted by the Chain Game Staff.

Discord Server - The Chain Game Discord Server is open to any of the Chain Game Players and GTAForums Member for off topic discussion and general conversation. There will also be regular updates on when a Chain Game Announcement is posted or a new Chain Game Round is launched. The server is moderated by the Chain Game Staff and you are expected to follow the GTAForums Rules as well as use your GTAForums Username.

Steam Group - The Chain Game Steam Group is open for any Steam Users that have an interest in the game. You'll find some of the other players that use Steam and get updates on the latest Chain Game Rounds which will be posted in the groups discussion forum by the Chain Game Staff.

Twitter Page - The Chain Game Twitter Page provides regular updates on all of the latest Chain Game News, including when a new round of the game has been launched and when a new Chain Game Announcement has been posted.

Streaming
All players of the Chain Game are free to stream their Chain Game Turns and invite other players to watch them play by providing a link to the stream when they call a turn in the round. Streaming is not mandatory and players are free to choose whether or not they stream their turns.

Several Chain Game Players choose to stream their Chain Game Turns using services such as YouTube and through Steam's Broadcasting Feature. You are free to choose any platform to stream your turns, although we recommend that you choose one that allows anyone to view without the need for registration.

Taking a Turn

Start a Chain Game Turn by making a post in this Chain Game Round Thread to allow all players of the game to know you are taking a turn, so that they do not take one themselves. A simple "I'll take a turn" will be enough, but you're free to be as creative as you choose, as long as you make it clear you're taking one!

You are not allowed to reserve turns in the Chain Game. Under no circumstances may you contact other players to state that you are planning on taking a turn and telling them not to take one themselves, and you may also not make a turn post in the thread while a turn is currently being taken so that you can take a turn when the current player has finished. In both of these cases, your turn will be made invalid and you may face further disciplinary action.

If two players make a post in the Chain Game Thread at the same time, both with the intention to take a turn, then the player who called their turn earlier is the one who takes the turn.

Wait Rules
Before you are able to take a turn in the Chain Game, you must ensure that at least one of the Wait Rules are no longer in effect. These Wait Rules keep the game fair by giving an opportunity for multiple players to take turns rather than allowing a sole player to complete a major percentage of the game themselves, taking away from the Team Aspect of the Chain Game.

The Two Turns Wait Rule: You may only take another Chain Game turn if two or more turns from other players have been completed since your last turn.

The Four Hours Wait Rule: If a four hour period passes between any two Chain Game Turns, the Two Turn Wait Rule is reset and any player may take a turn, even if they are the last player to have taken one. As the Wait Rules are reset for all players, if a player was to take a turn after four hours have passed since your last turn, you may take a turn after that player's turn as the Two Turn Wait Rule is no longer in effect on your previous turn.

Forfeited Turns: Forfeited Turns do not count towards the Wait Rules and do not cancel their effect. If a player is waiting for two turns or four hours to pass before they can take another turn, this does not include the Forfeited Turn.

Time Limit
The Three Hours Time Limit: The time limit to complete a Chain Game Turn is three hours. This is the time between when a player calls their turn by making a post in the Round Topic, and the time when they edited their post with their completed turn Save File. If more than three hours pass during this period, then the turn will be declared Invalid and the Save File will be discarded.

If you have previously completed a Chain Game Turn and wish to include additional information about your turn at a later time, you will need to specify when your turn was originally completed to prevent the turn being marked as invalid. See 'Late Edit' for more information.

A Time Limit Extension may be granted by a member of Chain Game Staff if there is a valid reason that you are unable to complete your turn within the intended three hour period. Players who wish to have a Time Extension must contact a member of Chain Game Staff as soon as possible and be granted permission to exceed three hours during their turn, or their turn will be declared invalid.

Forfeiting
Any player that has called a turn is allowed to forfeit their turn at any stage if they find themselves unable to complete the intended turn. It is recommended that you only forfeit as a last resort if you are struggling and try to make some contribution towards the game, even if you can't make the kind of contribution you wanted to.

To forfeit a turn, simply edit the turn post and make mention that you wish to forfeit. All forfeited turns will be marked as invalid in the Chain Game Player List, including forfeited turn posts that have been removed from the round topics by members of the GTAForums Staff Team.

Forfeited Turns do not count towards the Wait Rules and do not cancel their effect. If a player is waiting for two turns or four hours to pass before they can take another turn, this does not include the Forfeited Turn.

Downloading the Save File

Once you have made a post in the Chain Game Round Thread to state that you are taking a turn, download the Save File that has been linked in the post of the last valid turn. This is likely to be the latest post in the Round Thread at the time of you making your post.

The downloaded Save File should then stored in the 'GTA3 User Files' folder for the game to be able to locate the file ready for loading. This folder is usually found in 'C:\Users\Username\Documents\GTA3 User Files' but may differ on different Operating Systems.

If you feel that the link in the post is from a suspicious source, then you should not follow the link to the website linked and instead report this to a member of the Chain Game Staff who will investigate the matter further.

Making Progress

During your turn, there are many ways that you will be able to make progress towards the Chain Game Goal of 100% Completion of Grand Theft Auto III. You are allowed to complete up to One Named Mission and as many Side Missions as you wish. The Time Limit to complete your Chain Game Turn is Three Hours, which is plenty of time to sit back, relax and have some fun!

This section covers the most important information that you should keep in mind when taking your turn, and detailed information on what can and can't be done in the duration of your turn. It's strongly recommended that you read and understand this section fully before you take your turn so that you do not risk your turn being invalid.

Important Information
No Busts or Wastes: You are not allowed to get Busted or Wasted during the completion of your Chain Game Turn. Save Files that have been saved with a positive Busted or Wasted Statistic will not be accepted and the offending turn will be made invalid.

No Failure: You are not allowed to fail a Mission, Rampage or Side Mission during the completion of your Chain Game Turn. This specifically refers to all Named Story and Payphone Missions of the game, all Rampages and non-stackable Side Missions such as Off Road Challenges, Paramedic and Toyz Missions. If a player fails any of these as a result of their own bad luck or through being Wasted or getting Busted, then they must either restart or forfeit their turn.

If you are collecting a Special Vehicle that requires a Mission Failure, then you will be allowed to fail the mission, but it must be mentioned in your turn post that you collected the Special Vehicle. Attempting to collect a Special Vehicle and being unsuccessful, but still failing the mission the Special Vehicle is from, is not allowed.

Mission Failure will be accepted only if you are collecting a Special Vehicle or you have been given permission by the Chain Game Chief to upload your Save File. Any other turn that is found to have a Failure Statistic will be declared invalid.

No Cheats or Modifications: You are not allowed to use any Cheats, Trainers, Modifications or CLEO Scripts during the completion of your Chain Game Turn. It is strongly recommended that you only participate in the Chain Game on a completely unmodified installation of Grand Theft Auto III, even if you have disabled Modifications or CLEO Scripts from running during your turn.

We do not expect the players of the Chain Game to have to resort to the use of Cheats in order to complete Missions or Side Missions, and do not expect players to use Cheats as part of having fun during their turn. Some Cheats and Modifications have been known to have a long lasting affect on Save Files and we do wish to spoil the fun of the Chain Game for the players by having Save Files that are not working as they are intended to.

Any turn that is found to be using Cheats or Modifications will be declared invalid and any player found repeatedly breaking this rule face further disciplinary action.

Exceptions to the No Modifications Rule: It has been recognised by the Chain Game Staff that there have been modifications created for the game that are not Gameplay Altering but instead work to patch many of the issues that the older Grand Theft Auto games share due to the advancements in hardware, and therefore do not cause any issues with Save Files.

We have revised our stance on Modifications to allow for the use of any modifications listed below by Chain Game Players for use in all Chain Game Turns as we recognise that they have been created with the purpose to address many of the issues that these games have, and do not cause any issues with Save Files that would go against the No Modifications Rule.

Acceptable Modifications List:

We are open to allowing other Modifications that are of a similar nature, providing as an unofficial patch, on a case by case basis. Any player that wants to use a Modification that has not been listed, but is proven not to damage Save Files and has the intended purpose of patching issues with the game or providing additional hardware functionality, such as Controller Support, is welcome to contact the Chain Game Staff for direct permission to use this in their turns. Permission must be granted before you are able to use a Modification in your turn. If you do not have permission and are found to be using that Modification, it will fall under the No Modifications Rule and you will face disciplinary action.

On Mission Flag Manipulation: You are not allowed to use any form of On Mission Flag Manipulation during your Chain Game Turn. This specfically refers to purposely altering the On Mission Flag and the use of any form of Mission Duplication.

If you are collecting a Special Vehicle that requires the use of On Mission Flag Manipulation, then a failure is permitted only if the vehicle is successfully obtained in your turn and there are not any additional undesirable side effects. An "undesirable side effect" is one that would have a permanent affect on the Save File following execution of On Mission Flag Manipulation, such as permanently enabling a radar marker,

The Replay Feature: You are not allowed to use the Replay Feature during an active Mission or non-stackable Side Mission during the completion of your Chain Game Turn. This specifically refers to both Storyline Missions given by contacts such as "Drive Misty for Me" and non-stackable Side Missions such as "Paramedic", "Patriot Playground" and "Mafia Massacre". Replay exploits have been known to instantly pass missions and cause artificial scores and times which are both against the Chain Game Rules and could be exploited as a method of "unfair play" by players wishing to become Record Holders.

Outside of Missions and non-stackable Side Missions, including while searching for Hidden Packages or completing Unique Jumps, any player is free to use the Replay Feature for any purpose as long as the feature is not exploited in a way that may directly affect the Save File or any factor of Grand Theft Auto III's Completion Requirements and Percentage.

Missions
The One Named Mission Rule: You are only allowed to complete One Named Mission during the completion of your Chain Game Turn, or you are free not to complete any if you decide that you do not want to. A 'Named Mission' is any Story or Payphone Mission that changes the Save File Name when you save at a Safehouse.

Examples of Named Missions include "Luigi's Girls", "Kingdom Come" and "Waka-Gashira Wipeout".

Exceptions to the One Named Mission Rule: Several Missions in Grand Theft Auto III are an exception of the One Named Mission Rule and are able to be completed in addition to any other Named Mission when taking a turn in the Chain Game. You are able to complete multiple exception missions at once if they are available.

Here is a full list of the exceptions to the One Named Mission Rule:

Cutscene Missions

  • "Bomb Da Base: Act I"
  • "Bomb Da Base: Act II" (First Cutscene)
  • "Love's Disappearance"
  • "Ransom"

Off Road Challenges

  • "Patriot Playground"
  • "Multistorey Mayhem"
  • "A Ride in the Park"
  • "Gripped!"

Toyz Missions

  • "Diablo Destruction"
  • "Mafia Massacre"
  • "Casino Calamity"
  • "Rumpo Rampage"

Cutscene Missions - "Bomb Da Base: Act I", "Bomb Da Base: Act II" (First Cutscene), "Love's Disappearance" and "Ransom" are all exceptions to the One Named Mission Rule as they are considered to be 'Cutscene Missions', given that in none of these the player is required to complete any gameplay task and instead just watch through the cutscene given to the player upon entry of the Mission Marker.

Off Road Challenges and Toyz Missions - These are considered to be Side Missions and therefore you are able to complete several of them and are allowed to be complete them in addition to a Named Mission, despite the fact they change the Save File Name when the player saves the game.

Mission Scores and Times: There are several missions in Grand Theft Auto III that will store the scores or times that you have achieved in the Stats Page of the Pause Menu. Players who complete any of the following missions must note down the score or time they received in their Chain Game Turn Post:

  • Turismo - Mention the Race Time
  • Bling-Bling Scramble - Mention the amount of Checkpoints Collected
  • Smack Down - Mention the amount of Yardies Whacked
  • Rigged to Blow - Mention the Bomb Defusal Time

If you do not remember what score or time you achieved, you can check this in the Stats Page of the Pause Menu.

High Priority Missions
Locked Missions: There are several missions in Grand Theft Auto III that become unavailable as the Storyline Progresses and become locked from able to being completed and will not appear again throughout the duration of the game. This results in the player not being able to achieve 100% Completion if they do not follow the correct order for the missions in the game and so are considered High Priority Missions in the Grand Theft Auto III Chain Game.

All players should be aware of the missions that can be locked and keep this information in mind when taking turns so that we do not encounter this issue in any Chain Game Rounds. It is strongly advised that all players do these missions as soon as they are made available in the game. Chain Game Turns that do not complete the High Priority Missions and lock other missions out accidentally will have to be made invalid so that we are able to reach our goal of 100%.

The following missions must be completed before "Last Requests" before they become unavailable:

  • "Pump-Action Pimp" (Luigi Goterelli)
  • "The Fuzz Ball" (Luigi Goterelli)
  • "Dead Skunk in The Trunk" (Joey Leone)
  • "The Getaway" (Joey Leone)

The following missions must be completed before "Waka-Gashira Wipeout" before they become unavailable:

  • "Kanbu Bust-out" (Kenji Kasen)
  • "Grand Theft Auto" (Kenji Kasen)
  • "Deal Steal" (Kenji Kasen)
  • "Shima" (Kenji Kasen)
  • "Smack Down" (Kenji Kasen)

The following mission must be completed before "Grand Theft Aero" before it becomes unavailable:

  • "Two-Faced Tanner" (Asuka Kasen)

Gang Hostility Missions: After completing several missions in Grand Theft Auto III, certain gangs in Liberty City will become hostile and attack the player on sight. This can make it harder to complete some Missions and Side Missions in the game that take place in areas of Liberty City where the gang activity is so hostile that the player may be unable to visit these locations without dying or losing health quickly. In particular, this concerns Side Missions such as Paramedic where the player must drive across the entire island, and therefore potentially pass through hostile gang areas.

All players should be aware of the missions that cause gangs to become hostile and keep this information in mind when taking turns so that it does not cause any major issues in any Chain Game Rounds. It is strongly advised that the Side Missions in Grand Theft Auto III are completed as early as possible in the Chain Game so that they do not become too difficult to complete.

Here is a list of the Gang Hostility Missions in Grand Theft Auto III and which gangs which become hostile upon their completion:

  • "Give Me Liberty" (The Beginning) - The Columbian Cartel will become hostile.
  • "The Pick-Up" (Toni Cipriani) - The Liberty City Triads will become hostile if "Trial By Fire" is incomplete.
  • "Trial By Fire" (El Burro)  - The Liberty City Triads will become hostile if "The Pick-Up is incomplete.
  • "Sayonara Salvatore" (Asuka Kasen) - The Leone Family Mafia will become hostile.
  • "Uzi Rider" (King Courtney) - The Diablos will become hostile.
  • "Kingdom Come" (King Courtney) - The Yardies will become hostile.

The Liberty City Yakuza and Red Jacks are the only gangs in Grand Theft Auto III that will not become hostile towards the player.

Side Missions
Rampages: You may complete as many Rampages as you wish during your Chain Game Turn. There are Twenty Rampages in Liberty City and their locations can be found online through one of the Useful Links towards the end of the Chain Game Opening Posts. You can complete Rampages either on their own in a turn, or in combination with One Named Mission and/or as many Side Missions as you choose.

Players who complete Rampages must note down which they have completed by providing the Rampage Title as displayed on screen or in the Chain Game Checklist, or by providing a short description of the pickup location and what weapon was used to complete the Rampage in their Chain Game Turn Post. If you have completed all Rampages from a particular island or all remaining Rampages in the game, then you do not need to mention each individual Rampage, as long as it is clear which you have completed.

Rampage Failures are not allowed in the Chain Game.  If a player fails a Rampage as a result of their own bad luck or through being Wasted or getting Busted, then they must either restart or forfeit their turn.

Vehicle Missions: You may complete as many Vehicle Missions as you wish during your Chain Game Turn. Vehicle Missions refer to the Side Missions that can be activated and completed by the player while in a specific vehicle. The following is a list of Vehicle Missions in Grand Theft Auto III:

  • Paramedic
  • Vigilante
  • Firefighter
  • Taxi Driver

Players who complete these missions must note down important information about their completion in their Chain Game Turn Posts. Specifically for Vigilante and Firefighter, the player should note down how many Criminals or Fires they have completed and on which islands they have been completed on. For Taxi Driver, the player should note down how many fares they have completed.

Level 12 Paramedic, 20 Vigilante Kills on each island, 20 Fire Extinguishes on each island, and 100 Taxi Fares must be completed to achieve 100% Completion in Grand Theft Auto III. Further help towards completing these can be found online through one of the Useful Links towards the end of the Chain Game Opening Posts.

Off Road Challenges: You may complete as many Off Road Challenges as you wish during your Chain Game Turn. There are 4 Off Road Challenges found across Liberty City:

  • Patriot Playground
  • Multistorey Mayhem
  • A Ride in the Park
  • Gripped!

Players who complete any of the Off Road Challenges must note down the time that they achieved in their Chain Game Turn Post. This time can be found in the Stats Page of the Pause Menu. You can complete Off Road Challenges either on their own in a turn, or in combination with One Named Mission and/or as many Side Missions as you choose.

Off Road Challenges can be re-accepted at any time by players who wish to improve the Record Times. In Grand Theft Auto III, this will add a Mission Attempt Statistic to the Save File and so to avoid any unnecessary additional Mission Attempts, you should only save the game after re-accepting an Off Road Challenge if you have beaten the Record Time.

Toyz Missions: You may complete as many of the Toyz Van Missions as you wish during your Chain Game Turn. There are 4 Toyz Missions that can be found at the Toyz Vans across Liberty City:

  • Diablo Destruction
  • Mafia Massacre
  • Casino Calamity
  • Rumpo Rampage

Players who complete any of the Toyz Missions must note down the score that they achieved in their Chain Game Turn Post. This score can be found in the Stats Page of the Pause Menu. You can complete Toyz Missions either on their own in a turn, or in combination with One Named Mission and/or as many Side Missions as you choose.

Toyz Missions can be re-accepted at any time by players who wish to improve the Record Scores. In Grand Theft Auto III, this will add a Mission Attempt Statistic to the Save File and so to avoid any unnecessary additional Mission Attempts, you should only save the game after re-accepting a Toyz Mission if you have beaten the Record Score.

Collectibles and Unique Jumps: You may collect as many Hidden Packages and complete as many of the Unique Jumps as you wish during your Chain Game Turn. These can be completed either on their own in a turn, or in combination with One Named Mission and/or as many Side Missions as you choose. In total there are 100 Hidden Packages and 20 Unique Jumps to complete for 100% Completion and information on their locations can be found online through one of the Useful Links towards the end of the Chain Game Opening Posts.

Players who collect Hidden Packages or complete Unique Jumps must note down how many packages or jumps they have completed and their locations in their Chain Game Turn Post. If you have collected the packages or completed the jumps in groups, such as all of the packages on one island, you will be able to just mention that without specifying the locations of each individual package as long as it is clear from your post what you mean. It's important that these are mentioned clearly so we do not result in a situation where at the end of the round there are missing Hidden Packages or Unique Jumps which are in locations not known to any player.

Import/Export: You may deliver as many vehicles to the Portland Harbor Import/Export Garage, Emergency Vehicle Crane and Pike Creek Import/Export Garage as you wish during your Chain Game Turn. These can be completed either on their own in a turn, or in combination with One Named Mission and/or as many Side Missions as you choose.

Players who deliver vehicles as part of participation in Import/Export must note down the vehicles that they have collected in their Chain Game Turn Posts. You can also write down the vehicles that are remaining if you completed most of the list instead of having to individually list the vehicles you have collected, and if you have collected all of the vehicles from a list then you do not have to mention each vehicle individually but just that you have done the entire list of vehicles required.

Securicar Cracker Garage: The Securicar Cracker Garage is located in Portland Harbor and is not required for 100% Completion, and so is not required to be completed in a Chain Game Round. However, you are more than welcome to complete the list by delivering Securicars to the garage. There is no maximum number of Securicars that can be delivered, but you will not earn any more money after delivering 10.

The Securicar Cracker Garage can be completed either on their own in a turn, or in combination with One Named Mission and/or as many Side Missions as you choose. It's worth noting that if the Portland Harbor Import/Export Garage has already been completed, filling the Securicar Cracker Garage will be made easier as the player can utilise the Securicar spawn pickups to get their hands on Securicars easily.

Gameplay Methods
There are no restrictions on how you choose to play the game or of any shortcuts you may choose to take during your turn, as long as they do not violate the Chain Game Rules. All players are free to purchase weapons, respray vehicles, install car bombs and have some fun at their own leisure throughout the duration of their turn. Mission Strategy is completely up to the player and with multiple ways to complete the missions of Grand Theft Auto III, it is likely that each player is likely going to have their own preferred way of completing some of the missions or activities in the game.

It is not forbidden in the Chain Game to use Island Travel exploits or glitches in order to reach either Staunton Island or Shoreside Vale before they are unlocked, as long as the methods that you choose do not use Cheats or Modifications which are against the Chain Game Rules.

The player is allowed to use the services of Liberty City's Prostitutes to receive a Health Boost to a maximum of 125 Health Points. You may wish to mention that you have made the most of their abilities in your Chain Game Turn Post following the turns completion, although this is not necessary and is up to the player whether or not it is included.

If you have a game crash problem on your system or you are uncertain of your success, it is also advised that you save multiple times when completing a turn, so you won't be forced to lose significant progress as a result of failing a mission, getting busted or getting wasted.

Save and Upload

Saving the Game: Once you have made progress towards the Chain Game's Goal of 100% Completion, complete your turn by saving the game at a Safehouse.

It is strongly recommended that you choose to save the game on an island close to available missions for the convenience of the following player, and also on an island that is accessible at that point in the game so inexperienced players do not have trouble trying to navigate their way back to the island the available missions are on.

You should also try and ensure that you have a good amount of Health and Armor when saving, which can be filled before you save by finding the respective pickups. This will be as simple as collecting them outside of the Safehouse once the necessary Side Missions have been completed.

Uploading the Save File: Upload your completed Chain Game Save File for sharing in your completed post. The preferred upload service for use in the Chain Game is GTASnP.com created and developed by GTAForums Member Samutz. This service allows players to easily download the Chain Game Saves into the slot of their choice and shows information about the Save File including an automatically updated 100% Checklist. However, players are free to choose another File Sharing Service of their choice as long as it grants free download access without the need for registration.

If you are unable to access GTASnP.com, it is recommended that you upload your Save File to either Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive.

Edit Your Post

When you've uploaded your Save File, press the 'Edit' Button in the lower right corner of the post and use the Chain Game Posting Format, which can be copied directly from the 'Chain Game' section of the GTASnP.com Page of your Save File. You can alter this format to include colors or fonts of your choice, but all posts are required to have full details of all you have completed, the overall completion percentage and a link to the Save File.

Late Edit: If you have previously completed a Chain Game Turn and wish to include additional information about your turn at a later time, you will need to specify when your turn was originally completed to prevent the turn being marked as invalid.

When making a Late Edit to your Chain Game Turn Post, be sure to add a 'Original Edit Time' field to the bottom of the Posting Format and specify when the turn was originally finished. It is important that you mention the Time Zone of the time you posted too, so that players in other time zones do not get confused and misinterpret how long it took you to complete your turn.

GTAForums Downtime: If GTAForums is unavailable when you are ready to post your turn, it is advised where possible that you wait for the website to return and edit your post later than you had initially planned. If you are unsure that you will be around when the website returns, or the website is still unavailable when three hours have passed since calling your turn, it is recommended that you take a screenshot of the website and attempt to contact a member of Chain Game Staff on the Discord Server, Steam Group or Twitter Page to inform them of the situation and provide a Save File for them to include in your post when the website returns. You should also ensure that you stick to the turn time limit regardless of the status of GTAForums, and make your final save before three hours has passed. Once the website returns there will be a "grace period" where you will be given time to post your turn by the Chain Game Staff. Should you fail to post your turn within this time you will be considered to have failed to meet the turn time limit and your turn will be invalidated.

If there is a planned period of maintenance for GTAForums, the Chain Game Staff may temporarily suspend the current Chain Game Round. During this period, no players are allowed to take a turn and must wait until a member of Chain Game Staff announces that play can continue before calling a turn.

Violation of the Chain Game Rules

The Chain Game Rules are designed to keep the game played fairly, so that all players are having an enjoyable experience and the game is making progress. It is expected that all Chain Game Players take the time to fully understand the rules and ensure that they do not violate them during their Chain Game Turns and therefore not cause any disruption or upset amongst players.

Violations of the Chain Game Rules are treated seriously and will be dealt with appropriately by the Chain Game Staff. Chain Game Turns that violate any of the Chain Game Rules will be declared invalid and the progress made in that turn, as well as that of any following turns, will be discarded.

We recognise that players can make honest mistakes and accidentally violate Chain Game Rules and will take this into consideration. Depending on the severity of the rules broken, if it is your first time not following the Chain Game Rules your turn may not be declared invalid and in such cases the game will continue as normal.

Players that have been repeatedly broken Chain Game Rules, spam post in the Chain Game Topics, do not show respect for other Chain Game Members and choose to ignore warnings given to them by the Chain Game Staff will face temporary or permanent exclusions from the Chain Game. During the period of a Chain Game Ban, the offending player will not be allowed to participate in any Chain Game Round and all posts that they choose to make in Round Topics will be ignored, declared invalid and later removed. Persistent posting during the period of a Chain Game Ban with the intent to cause disorder in the Chain Game may be dealt externally by GTAForums under the website's Rules and Policies.

Players that witness violations of Chain Game Rules should bring them to the immediate attention of a Chain Game Staff Member. Noticing an issue early will help to prevent the loss of a great amount of progress if the issue is not noticed until much later in the game.
