It appears New Bordeaux is now called Saint Dennis, but they could always rename the city. Would be a nice small touch to connect the two franchises. If it was still called New Bordeaux, I'd be very happy to entertain theories about connections to Mafia 3. Doesn't seem to be any chance of that now. Connections to GTA, I'm more curious about. I don't think they drove Mafia into the ground at all. 3 is a serviceable game; it just feels like a one-off without any real connective tissue to the franchise, beyond one or two NPCs returning from Mafia 2. The concept is fine and the setting is unique; it just suffers from a stale one-dimensional character lead.
