Prox Mines Research

So in order to get the Prox mine deployable for vehicles, you have to research it first. However, I was repainting my Dune Fav only to notice I had them unlocked and I could buy and equip them. Upon going back to the bunker I found that they are still locked and have no been researched. I'm afraid now that I'm going to lose them randomly after I bought them, or will lose them when the research completes. Did anyone else have this happen? Also I assume it unlocked for all other vehicles as well, but I only own the FAV.
