Striker02 20
I've been replaying GTA 3, VC, SA, 4 and 5 and my god, they aged very poorly, especially because of their sluggish gameplay/controls and lack of checkpoints. Almost all of their controls barely aged well, they seems to play poorly by 2020 standards. I can't play any of them without getting bored for more than 5 minutes. To me, Bad controls, lack of checkpoints and gameplay destroys gaming experience to me. PS: talking about checkpoints, GTA 5 doesn't count. Complaining about a lack of checkpoints and ignoring the one game that actually has them seems like a bizarre contradiction to me.

Fake Lilina 534
I still find enjoyment out of them. No matter how poorly they aged, I still have fun with them.

FanEu7 573
GTA1-3 have aged really badly. I mean VC shows its age too but its still way more fun. Anyone who is saying GTA V has aged the worst is straight up lying Edited January 17 by FanEu7

Carbonox 1,207
GTA III was revolutionary, but offers little in terms of things to do. There's still fun to be had in it, but not necessarily to the extent of its immediate successors.

The controls are bad, and those missions aren't very fun. Hold up, the heli mission was the easiest, since it was the only one I passed on my first try
t-p-d-a 222
GTA 1997. i really wish it would be smoother like GTA 2. Because i never played missions in GTA 1. GTA 2 its still playable but not GTA
Americana 5,263
Well, apart from 2D Era Grand Theft Auto games, I would say Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Don't get me wrong, I really like the game. It's in the middle between Grand Theft Auto III, which was the first 3D game in the series and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which was much more polished game.
RenegadeAngel 2,812
Of the mainline ones, definitely III. It certainly has an appeal and is still a great game to this day, but Vice City is such a massive step forward in terms of practically everything that it's tough to go back sometimes.
