AZAZEL
Oh, hey. So yeah, I'm pretty sure my Titan X (Pascal) kicked it this evening. Long story short; I've been using the card for about 1,5 years, and it's been running fine all along - no artifacts or other mishaps. Lately I've been noticing lower frame rates, and frame rate fluctuations in various games, such as GTA V, Rocket League and Witcher 3. It was in my troubleshooting of the lack of performance in Witcher 3, that the (what I assume is) fatal blow occurred. This is what I did: 1. Started Witcher 3 for the first time in a few months, FPS was down to 45'ish, as opposed to the usual 70'ish. 2. Saw there was a new nVidia driver available - downloaded and installed via GeForce Experience 3. Messed around in nVidia Control Panel - changed a few settings related to anisotropic filtering, set maximum pre-rendered frames to 2 in stead of 1, and a few other harmless things. 4. Rebooted 5. Both monitors reported no signal, and didn't display the POST or BIOS splash screen And here I am. I've plugged one monitor into the on-board DisplayPort, and that works fine. I've now tried the following: - All 3 DP-ports, and the HDMI port on the card, no signal on any of them - Unplugged and re-plugged the power connectors for the card - Card doesn't smell burnt or anything Few final notes - card is watercooled with a EK block, and has been all the time I've used it - I've checked for leaks and such, but everything seems bone dry. Anyways, just wanted to pick your brains. Any of you have an idea, other than concluding that the card is dead? I don't reckon there's any way, that the nVidia control panel settings I picked, could have bricked the card somehow? Or that it could be a software issue? Is common sense now so rare, that we should call it something else?
MarshDanni
I can tell you one thing. The new Nvidia drivers are really unstable and I myself have had issues with the new drivers and basically I'm dealing with it since the update before this one (The Crew 2 update I think it is?). Anyway I would bet money it's a software issue. My games started to act unusual as well. In a sense that games which should and did actually work on a constant 60 fps suddenly dropped to low 20's. Then I tried looking it up and I found out that the driver was causing issues. So I tried to fix it and of course didn't do anything major. Just a few 'baby' steps to see if it does anything. But then after a day or two my screen started to act finicky (resolution, random black screens, low framerate in general). I finally fixed it by reinstalling Nvidia drivers, and if you tried that ever you should know it isn't really possible without a 3rd party program help. Thankfully it worked out, but I dread the next driver update. Apology if it doesn't help.

It is odd that this occurred right after updating the driver, but seeing as I'm not even able to view the BIOS, I doubt it's a software issue. 15 hours ago, Dealux said: Have you checked GPU temps when the FPS drops occurred? I checked them right after a 30-minute Witcher 3 session (where I was getting the 45-50'ish FPS), and they were around 36C. The card is mounted in a way in my PC, that I can't remove it without taking a large part of the PC apart, so I'm a bit limited in that regard. But I guess there's no way around it. Guest
Could be a software fault as I've had a similar problem this year. Didn't update Nvidia drivers for 4 or so months. I lost the video signal on boot (no bios screen, Hd was spinning up) so I popped out the Gfx card, re inserted with power lead. It powered on and I updated the driver. I assumed the 6 pin power connector or the gfx card came lose (maybe both).
HaRdSTyLe_83
have you tried the Display driver uninstaller to remove all GPU drivers and install just the latest drivers / or the previous working drivers for you ? edit: i dont know if this can work, but how about removing your HDD/SDD and replacing it with another, with a clean windows install Edited June 30, 2018 by HaRdSTyLe_83
AZAZEL
Thanks for all the input guys. Took it apart yesterday and... well. Wasn't software related... Not sure how it got there, at all. Seems like it also killed the PCI-E port on the motherboard. Couldn't find any leaks, but I've completely disassembled the juicebox now, so it is no more. Anyways, onwards and upwards! Will build a new system in the new Lian Li case I just received. Is common sense now so rare, that we should call it something else?
HaRdSTyLe_83
isn't that the part that is facing down on the case? so weird pics of the dynamic build ?
Misumi
Well sh*t I just bought watercooling parts to go back to watercooled. This isn't backing up my decision at all. AZAZEL 1 IPMBMBAP

Ha, sorry. I'm going back to air. Can't wait to see what you do with those parts, though! Please keep us in the loop. See what I did there? At the moment, it looks like I'm just gathering WC parts and storing them like I do with cases. Just sold all my fittings and spare tubing recently as well. I'm quite happy with the air cooling right now, with the exception of some annoying to remove dust filters on my Raijintek case (which I am currently looking to replace). sivispacem and AZAZEL 2 IPMBMBAP

SilverStone probably do the most airflow optimized dust filters, and a company like DEMCiflex does a lot of bespoke sets for various cases, although I couldn't find any for your quirky Raijintek. sivispacem
I suspect, in sympathy for your dead GPUs, my PSU has committed harikiri. Working fine yesterday but today I get no POST, just a constant power-on-power-off reboot loop. Need to have a proper look at it, go through the cables to make sure nothing is shorting or not plugged in correctly but I've ordered a replacement EVGA Supernova P2 as a backup in case the Corsair is dead. Will have to check warranty terms, I might still be within if it was extended to 10 years. -E Seems in my case it's being caused by power draw from my AudioEngine D1 exceeding the USB draw requirements and triggering surge protection. That's odd. I have a D1 as well, so maybe something to keep an eye on. Good news, finally got my brand new replacement 1080 Ti today, and it's working perfectly.
