Another GTA Fan

I have a question relating to Fortnite, so if any fellow Fortnite players are on here, he's something I cannot find the answers to. I've only been playing for about 4-5 months now and I'd still class myself a beginner.

On my lobby screen I'm seeing 3 different experience level things. There's the main one at the top, 1 just under that, and my free pass tier level. Firstly, can someone explain these to me in detail, and how do I get experience for them? I've noticed that even in games where I don't get a Victory Royale, I still get experience. What are the 3 level experience levels for? And what tasks in the Battle Royale give me experience for them?

I honestly can't find any online guides that explains this stuff. I've just been playing and trying to figure out what's what, but this is something I've not been able ot figure out yet.

PS. If you can link me to a site that covers this stuff, that would be good enough and appreciated.

Edit: Ignore. I've worked it out :)

Does "shop class" still exist in school?  How about "home ec"?

I'm not just talking about vocational training or anything specific.

It was mandatory in my Junior high and optional in high school.  I was the first class where you had to take both home ec and shop class.  Traditionally boys took shop and girls took home ec.

I had to take mechanical drawing, electric shop, wood shop, cooking and sowing.

So...does shop class still exist?  Do they still teach some of those basic life skills in standard school?

Im not 100% sure if i got this right, but in my country while you're going through school, you can't take these classes. Well, in my school there was some cooking stuff, but it was like 3-4 lessons and just because our teacher was bored. There wasn't even any specific places to run these classes at.

However, my abroad friend told me that in his vocational school he was taught a basic evacuation instructions during a water flood, earth quake and so on.

Indeed, they do (Germany)

My education days in Bremen (Germany) were in the 1980s/90s, however I've lost touch, having no children.

Back at my schools (note that German educational systems not only differ from US, but also vary dramatically between German member states), we always had either shop class, home ec, and creative arts (especially music), more or less rotating on a half-annual basis. One of those was always mandatory for all, and this went pretty much the whole length of school education.

In Bremen school system back then was deliberately scattered over four or even five different institutions (4 years Primary school, 2 years Orientation school, 3-4 years on one of three different tiers of lower Secondary School, then optional 3 years upper secondary school "Abitur", and/or 2-3 years vocational school along job training), so it was all a bit messy.

AFAIK on many German schools today shop class and home ec have been consolidated into one single class that also integrates elements specifically preparing for vocational training and apprenticeship, and it's still mandatory, yes.

When I was at (Secondary) school, girls did 'Home Economics' and boys did 'Metalwork', 'Woodwork', or for the brighter ones, 'Technical Drawing'. In these more egalitarian times this has probably all changed.

^ Yeah, they gradually dropped that in the 1970s/80s all over the (then Western-)German member states; in traditional Protestant and post-Calvinist Bremen there were the usual discussions and the city elders had to be assured that the world is most likely not to end by the Almighty's scornful smiting, when girls are allowed into the school's holy workshop ☺️

inb4 someone points it out: I am exaggerating, but discussions had been tense.

Yes. My teacher looked just like the dad off That 70's Show

My shop teacher looked like a mix of Mario and Bob Ross.

The thought of shop class popped into my head because the other night I was bored but too tired to do anything.  I remembered I could watch youtube on my big TV and thought I'd find a documentary on "supermarkets".  Yeah I know...I live an exciting life.

The documentary I found wasn't exciting.

It was reminiscent of the days the shop teacher didn't feel like teaching and would put on the movie about sharks or something.

When I was in high school (just for clarity, here in the UK high school is secondary school which covers you from the age of 11 to 16) we had a "technology" class which rotated through the year. It was divided into three - we had graphics design for the first third, woodwork for the second and then what you would consider home economics for the latter third. I enjoyed the first two, but I've never been interested in cooking, thus I was never really any good at it. We had a good time, but my teacher for cookery was very shrewd. She could flip between hysterically angry and sugary sweet within minutes, which doesn't really help an atmosphere when you have a room of about 20 teenagers still figuring out how they were feeling.

Graphics design felt more like a goof off. I did most of my work for that class within the first two weeks, which left me about 2 months free to spend browsing Snopes and eating chicken nuggets covertly. Woodwork was fine, but you couldn't help but feel like things were a touch out of date. It was interesting enough to learn, but surprisingly nobody paid much attention until our teacher taught us how to build a miniature trebuchet. Oh, and a girl fainted once. That was exciting for about 5 minutes.

Bear in mind this was about 2002/2003, so I don't know how much school in the UK has changed in the last 15 years.

Have you ever been attracted to any image without any visible reason? Like there's a small or big detail that keeps you watching the picture, but you can't still figure out why?
In my case, im attracted to pictures i've made myself in GTA V. It may sound selfish, but it is how it is. I've made so much pictures, but only two of them keep catching my eyes.

Would like to know if something similar happened to any of you.

I've formed some pretty strong attachments to things, though mostly mine are audio related. I don't particularly mean songs, rather little sounds or clips that I latch onto and they make me feel good. I feel the same way if a sound is used as a sample and it's done in such a way that it's so seamless you could have bet money on it being made for a track. I've had it with certain images, but nowhere near as strong.

Constantly, in fact. It can be any small detail that gets me hooked, or, as indeed in case of that second picture you've just posted, something implied by the situation shown, although there is actually nothing specific; as if remembering an important dream, and you just don't catch enough bits to make the story whole again. (Which is likely exactly what's happening)

However:

Beat me to it ☺️ Some songs on my playlists are there because I'm listening to some particular line of instrument and have to admit the rest is not as good. Yet isolating the thing wouldn't help either.

My question is this: Here in the UK we have what are known as 'Chuggers', which is euphemism for Charity Muggers. These are people employed by various charities to accost you on the main street, looking to sign you up for regular donations to their charity. They usually start by asking for your name or wanting to shake your hand, anything to start a rapport. Then they go into their sales pitch. They always wear some kind of uniform, often a colourful plastic bib and are usually young people.

The best way to deal with them is a friendly smile and a polite "No thanks" as you go by, but some days they are so numerous, and because they often deliberately block your path, it's difficult to remain polite.

I just tell them I support a cause diametrically opposed to theirs. Out chugging for Save the Children? Tell them you're an arms dealer. Heart Foundation? Say it's the fatties and smokers' own fault and that you'd rather your money went to paying for working class people to be sterilised.

I once got called a "monster" by a student going door to door for UNICEF. It was one of the proudest moments of my life.

I can relate to the problem. Years ago these people at least received some basic training, how to approach passers-by in a friendly fashion but also keeping distance. I don't see that any more today. I think these people don't receive any training, in fact, organizers just give them the materials and let them loose.

This is indeed a very special problem for me. These people can of course not know that I am an Autist and that, when somebody blocks my way in such a fashion, I can really get into panic and overload, but many of these people have to act more considerate when moving in public in general, I think.

TL;DR: I usually do the "Thank you, but no" routine (And I do that in English as further firewall, mind that I'm living in Germany), when they insist anyway blocking my way and holding their leaflets into my face I point out that I usually get my information out of the internet, and deal with donations there, too (which is true), welcome to the 21. century and all, and that usually shuts them down then. It's tough, but I really try to remain kind.

If that still fails, my partner pushes them out of the way, I have to say; indeed in order to protect me, for the situation is potentially dangerous to me.

Thinking about selling my Phantom 3 Drone as I never have time to fly it in fact I've only got to fly it 3 times so it's more or less brand new.

So if you were looking to buy a used Phantom 3 Drone with everything included including brand new carbon fiber unbreakable blades what would your offer be?

I was thinking of asking around $200

Why do my toe nails grow considerably twice as fast compared to my fingernails? I mean, cutting them every second day gets a bit annoying, but not as much as when they aren't cut and they rip holes through my socks..

Random question I know, but am interested in peoples thoughts and opinions.

Do you have Bumblebees in the USA? I could look it up online but I'd rather hear it from the horses mouth.

@ddubz91

This is unusual, because fingernails usually grow up to four times as fast as toenails. This isn't a firm rule because obviously everyone's different, and it could be down to a number of things. It could be a sign of good circulation or a better diet. It isn't a fault with your body, and it isn't normally consistent. You might you cut your nails (finger or toe) at different rates - sometimes it could be after a week, or even a few days. Aside from it being a touch annoying, there's not a great deal you can do about it. Obviously I'm not implying you suddenly change any good habits because that's vastly more important than having to give your old boys a trim.

@Short Stay

I'm not from the USA, but I can confirm there's over 3000 species of bee, with about 40 of them being a bumble. By contrast, here in the UK there's a comparatively low 250 species. Many are threatened worldwide due to pesticide use, so it's often a topic of debate about what to do about saving their population. Certain species contribute a great deal towards the foods we eat and even the products we use.

Just a quick question for someone who has tried installing and using a program called ''cheat engine''.

I just found out about it, I would like to use it for an older Pro Evolution Soccer game to get some money and mess around with transfers and stuff since cheat engine is the only way to get money instantly, but all the mixed feedbacks on YouTube that I've seen people write in the comments about the cheat engine got me ridiculously confused. At least half the people say it's a virus, the other half say it's a ''safe program that's been around for years''. Can someone please explain to me is it actually a virus, does it install spyware/malware crap or what?  I just wanted to have fun for a few days with the game, I don't want to screw up my PC.

You mean the big fat stupid bees that don't sting?

Yes we do.

Although I'd like to clarify that I can only speak for the Mid Atlantic region.  USA is pretty big and crazy diverse in its landscape, flora, fauna and wildlife.  Like; no scary scorpions here in Philadelphia, but hop on a plane and in a few hours you could be covered by 'em.

From what I can tell, no, it's not a virus so long as it is installed from their official website. The problem is when anti-virus software will flag it as such because it can't tell the difference. The program is literally changing files within your computer, and viruses do very much the same thing. This often happens, but sometimes developers will add notes to avoid their software being identified as malicious.

Take this with a grain of salt. I accept no responsibility for your brick of a computer should you drop a bollock.

Yeah, that makes sense. But let's just say I can't really take YouTube comments from people with Arabic names and broken English saying ''it virus'' seriously, you know what I'm saying? I do admit the program looks shady, thing is some people did write the installer doesn't offer you the chance to choose not to install crap that comes with it, they mentioned something called OpenCandy among other things such as spyware, malware and such and that's what bothers me. Thanks though.

I've been using Cheat Engine on Splinter Cell Blacklist. So i can tell with 100% certainty that it's not a virus. It made my PC go to a Blue Screen of Death but i messed with the settings in the program and that fixed it.I used it few days ago and got 999.999.999 money in Splinter Cell Blacklist.😂

Yeah, Cheat Engine uses the same techniques as some viruses to mess with program memory. It can potentially do a lot of damage to the system, but it's not designed to. Also, it's VERY easy to write a script for Cheat Engine that will become a virus on your machine, so if you're going to download these, make sure you trust the source. Antivirus software is correct marking this program as suspicious, but it is a false positive in this particular case.

I've been having this problem with any sites supporting that broken piece of sh*te, captcha. The only copper lining I get from this is most principal sites don't use it, I imagine because their designers weren't thrown out of moving cars as infants.

Playstation.com does use it however which is a real dick-choker for me since I can't get advertised the latest Call of Duty or Fifa or when they next price hike their online subscription.

I'd be grateful for any solution after the misery this bestowed me. Please be layman if you can, I'm a cyberspace caveman.

This page may help, which tests whether you're able to receive CAPTCHAs, and what steps you can take to stop automated queries. Other than that, I'm not much help I'm afraid. Mighty annoying though, I particularly dislike the CAPTCHAs that have you highlighting street signs.
