I've been hearing about this big forum update that's upcoming, what's it going to change?

Profile banner is one of the new features that's going to be added, as mentioned here by uNI.

Does the forum update also change the mobile version? If yes, I hope it's nothing major. The mobile version works great. Only two things that sometimes bother me is no user settings interface and can't get the search function to work. I don't use these frequently and if I do, I simply click on the desktop site so I'm not complaining.

I don't know different the rules and laws are in the US but this exact discussion came up on another forum I frequent recently. Basically:

• Someone else, whoever owns Uber and the systems you use to find fares, takes a lot of the money you make on the fares
• You have to pay for all running costs yourself: fuel, vehicle service, increased wear etc.
• You'll need insurance that covers this kind of work which you'll also pay for yourself
• To find most fares you'll probably have to work odd hours like in the middle of the night on weekends
• Maybe some kind of taxi license or permit required? You'll pay for it yourself

Basically, you won't make much to begin with. I don't know if you pay taxes on the money you make but meanwhile the running costs on your car will skyrocket.

 

There has to be some kind of upside in the US, otherwise it wouldn't be as big as it is but I don't know what it is. Uber is pretty much not a thing here.

I never worked for Uber, but that's how it works around here. My father is a cab driver and many of his colleagues tried to go work for them and the cut the driver gets is very small off the amount the costumer pays. Also, if the costumer gives you a low rate, you risk getting your ass kicked.

 

About being a shady company, you don't need working for them to know that, that just requires reading the news. I'd never neither work for them nor use their services (also due to the fact knowing the other side of the cab drivers vs. Uber dispute from my father, but mainly for their shady practices aka avoiding taxes, getting their services legalized with very benefital rules for whatever reason and data collecting from the costumers' phones).

So I have a health question. I noticed in the past weeks that whenever I lay down and go to sleep, I frequently have parts of my body "jumping" once (and stopping me from falling asleep) It's kinda hard to explain.

 

It's sort of like a small seizure of either my leg(s), my shoulder or my ass (lol). I don't have control over it, it just happens and it just freaked me out. I was laying on the right shoulder and my left shoulder jumped just when I was falling into sleep. Last night, I was laying straight and both of my legs jumped high and fell back on bed.

 

I just wonder what this is supposed to be and if it could be a sign if something serious. It starts to freak me out. I've had this for a while now but it was never anything that bothered or annoyed me until yesterday.

These are spasms, I have them often they keep me from sleeping as well at times usually caused by overactive nerves if this keeps happening talk to your doctor and they can give you something to help combat it but if he offers something called Neurontin stay away from it, It will make you loopy as f*ck and feel beyond weird ask for Topamax it works good for me.

@Fashion:IIRC, it's called a hypnic jerk. It's been hypothesized that it may come from when we lived in trees, 100s of thousands of evolutionary years ago, the hypnic jerk would wake us up, preventing us from falling. Basically an "useless gene" or whatever you might say that carried with us from our primal ancestors.

I just use Camtasia 8, I assume most other video editing softwares can take an .AVI file and render it in .MP4.

What's so wrong with a trailer park anyways? Unless it's a complete mess and your neighbours are god knows how disturbing, I'd live in a trailer park if I had to.
