I remember hearing that back in the day someone wrote a book on how to make your own nuclear weapons. Does anyone know the name of it, and will the NSA track me down if I look it up?

(No, I'm not interested in making nuclear bombs at home, I'm just curious if this book is real)

If it existed and was released then there's probably a copy out there. Knowledge isn't illegal, and the NSA probably isn't going to care because making a nuclear bomb is beyond the means of almost anyone without years of studying and the resources to make one. Manufacturing copious amounts of sustainable Uranium-235 is going to be the tricky part.

That's not the only difficult bit. Practically, that's relatively easy if you're a nation state and have access to nuclear reactors for producing Plutonium-239 or centrifuges to enrich Uranium.

The really challenging aspects from a design perspective are precision casting of the high explosive component to achieve a uniform implosion, and the timing and sequencing of detonation. When the media reports on a half-kiloton fizzle in a (usually North Korean) test, it's normally down to one of those. Certainly in Western nuclear testing if something failed it would usually be linked to the sequencing or the conventional component rather than the nuclear, which in an implosion type fission design is very simple.

There are plenty of surprisingly detailed descriptions of the structure and design of nuclear weapons publicly available, though they typically relate to early implosion or gun type fission devices or the very earliest boosted and two stage thermonuclear designs. Don't know of any Haynes manual though, sorry.

I think back in the days before internet, the government asked 2 people without prior knowledge of how an atomic bomb worked to make a project of a working atomic bomb using only publically available documents, and they succeded. Nowadays, a simple Google search is enough to get projects. As sivi said, the tricky part would be actually building one without blowing up your entire city.

And the NSA can probably track you down for typing 'Kittens' at a gaming forum.

Has anybody "backed" a campaign on Indiegogo?

There is something i'm thinking about backing but i wanted to see if anybody here has had any experiences with Indiegogo and what their experience was like.

I looked at a lot comments on a bunch of difference campaigns and most of the comments are bitching about the creators not shipping their items when they said they would and people who had been backers from the start not getting the items first or simply getting crappy cheap items or the wrong item entirely.

Did a couple Kickstarters, but they were a long time ago before it seemingly went to sh*t. Haven't given anything on IndieGogo a gogo yet.

I know there's a Tropico 5 thread in Gaming but the last reply was made 3 years ago and don't feel like bumping it solely for a question so I'll just ask here.

How do I solve my crippling homelessness epidemic despite a lot of houses built? All set at lowest budget and high budget, I've got flat broke people and filthy rich people living in makeshift shacks and it looks ugly.

You are wise to avoid bumping for a question.

If you don't get an answer here, you could try asking your question in the Gaming Chat Cafe, where someone more knowledgeable might see it.

Why is it a bad idea to bump the thread that is obviously the most relevant for this particular question? Edited by Andreaz1

Because instead of getting an answer, he will most likely just get spam replies from folks commenting on the fact that the thread was bumped after a three year gap.

Is there a decent search engine that will do a much deeper search than Google or DuckDuckGo?

Depends on what you mean by "deeper", there's various filters when using google to refine searches if that counts.

What was that program that you can use to make images look distorted and like a shroom trip?

inb4 "photoshop". It was an online program and there were other filters as well.

To be honest the folks in the gaming section are more mature then the online section.

I've seen alot of year olds threads be bumped without any spammy replies but actual answers if the someone knows it.

A few things might help here, but I may be pissing in the wind if you've already exhausted these suggestions. For starters, it seems like travel distance to places of work are an influence. I experimented a little with street designs and proximities. A design that helped me a lot was having a plantation, a couple of services buildings and four or five country houses. Every so often there'd be trees and maybe a small park if I was at that stage. Also, look into passing Housing Mortgage Subsidy. I haven't personally noticed much difference but I looked online for some answers and that seemed to alleviate the problem a little for some players (or at least those that didn't blame it on a bug right off the bat).

GTA3Rockstar

I posted this on Imgur, since I saw it on facebook. lol
yD4F5su.png

We can rule out D E G and H because C to D is blocked and H is as well. A B and C for obvious reasons, too.

The outlet from J to I may be lower than J to L, but the inlet into I is higher, therefore I and K can never get filled.

So, we can rule out A B C D E G H I J and K. All that is left is F and L.

F makes since because it's the lowest possible box. Others have said the water will stop filling up into F. Not enough pressure from L to have the water flow into F or backflow type of thing.

So, F or L? lol I think F, just because F is an open container and there's a place for air to go, if it was closed, I'd understand L.

I'd say F tbh, since too much water in L will push more into F until it's full. But idk it's kind of hard to say what would happen in that mess lol

F. Like the grade for anyone who had any doubts about it.

Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

Actually, my bet goes to G. Notice that the tube leading to J (and making it's way to everyone's favourite F) is higher than the one leading to D (and then going to G). So, the water going to the container C would first make it's way to D and not be able to achieve J until the water level increases. Well, the tube between C and D doesn't go up, meaning there would be no increment in pressure, and since it will fill D from the top, gravity will prevent the water level to increase in C, therefore not piping water into any of the other containers from it.

I'd go as far as saying F wouldn't receive a single drop of water because even when G gets filled, the water will keep pouring from D and falling out the G container, out the circuit. The water level would never increase enough on C to pass the pipe leading to J.

F, then L, K, I, J, C, B and A. D, E, G and H are separated from the rest.

Again, I disagree with both your solutions for the reason I pointed out. Nobody still managed to explain why would the water drip from C to J when it would naturally drip to D considering its tube is lower than the one connecting to J.

I'd say a very important peice of info is missing... how fast is the water coming out of the faucet? If it's fast enough, and the opening from A is small enough, A will "fill first" before it feeds all the other vestibules.

You fell for the trap. Container D, the one leading to G is closed. Look closely.
