So diabetes runs in the family and I've been checked for it very recently and it came negative. I'm not big not even overweight. But every time I eat something sugary I get foot pain that could be described as, well, diabetic foot pain. It usually lasts for a couple of hours and subsides until I eat something sugary again. It's honestly worrying. The reason I got checked a few months ago was because I had the same sh*t and my arms started having nerve pains and now that I remember my shoulders did too. What is this?

I'm guessing you are in your 20's? If you're not overweight and you don't down bottles of sugary drinks every day the chances of you having developed type 2 diabetes seem pretty impossible. Type 1 diabetes isn't something you don't notice, it would almost certainly have been diagnosed and treated a long time ago. If you've already been checked and it came back negative then you shouldn't worry about it. Even if you did have untreated diabetes you would have other symptoms as well and would be feeling very crappy. The pain you're feeling should be investigated but diabetes just doesn't seem like the cause.

My computer is running very strangely. Basically it hangs in a kind of weird way.

-Can still move the mouse.

-Can still use programs that are open already, but they eventually end up not responding a few minutes later.

-Can't open any programs. If I try opening them, they only open a few minutes later when the computer briefly, or fully, unhangs.

-If I open, say, My Computer (same for all the other folders), the window is completely blank and the loading bar is working as if it was searching the folder contents.

This has happened in the past, and about 10 times between yesterday and now (and 5 times in a row just now). What is happening and how do I fix it? I was looking at the Task Manager monitor and when that happened, the only weird thing I noticed is that the CPU usage is at 0% most of the time compared to 0-20% when I normally use the computer. Google is useless at finding the problem, let alone the solution.

Perhaps the hard drive is failing and programs are taking a long time to respond while the programs try to load files from the drive?

That would be my second guess after virus/spyware but I'm sure someone like you would be able to tell if it was malware causing it.

I had a look at the HDD and everything seems to be fine. The HDD checking tools also showed no issued.

I scanned the PC last week and it didn't find anything, so it's probably not malware. Also had the exact same problem from time to time last year (except that back then it happened once, not 10 times in a row)

Currently in Safe Mode with Networking since I can't do anything for more than a minute when I boot up the computer normally. :/

I'm 18. And just realized my mom was only diagonosed with it a decade ago at 40 something and my grand father (her father) at 70. Not sure what age her grand mother got it. But to be honest I have a serious sweet tooth. I'm not crazy about a lot of sugary stuff anymore but some days have about 90g or more sugar I believe.

My first thought was also failing storage drive, you checked the S.M.A.R.T. values of the drive? "scanned PC last week" might as well mean you scanned it last year, picking up crap is easy. :p Other than that I'm not sure, would a Windows reinstall be possible?

If they got diagnosed at 40 and 70 then they definitely have type 2 diabetes. That takes years if not decades to develop unless, as I said, you drink whole bottles of soda every day. I'm not a doctor but I'll bet money your pains are not diabetes related.

Scanned for viruses just in case, and yeah, nothing malicious found.

As for the S.M.A.R.T. values, I'm not exactly sure how they work (or how do I read them tbh). I checked that with three different programs and it looks ok there. At most, HDTune highlights two sections in yellow ("[0A] [spin Retry Count]" and "[b8] [unknown attribute]"). Note this is when using Safe Mode with networking, as soon as I boot up the computer normally it runs as described.

EDIT: screenshot of the highlights I'm talking about:

Nicked shamelessly from Wikipedia:

This attribute is a part of Hewlett-Packard's SMART IV technology, as well as part of other vendors' IO Error Detection and Correction schemas, and it contains a count of parity errors which occur in the data path to the media via the drive's cache RAM

Both are reporting fine, though. It's a weird issue, definitely, but I suspect it's most likely to be an OS issue to be honest.

The Time Ranger

I only really use YouTube on mobile, I noticed ealier that I can't see the comments on a video, the option to see them is gone, now I don't have a YouTube account, is this a new feature to encourage you to join? Has anybody else noticed this and knows why it's happening?

There's not much that a iPhone can do that an Android based phone can't do... if anything. Aside from quirky things you can do with the interface, which frankly are gimmicks and not really good ones at that; I wouldn't see any reason to to switch to an iPhone. Especially at the moment when the iPhone 7 isn't that much of step up from the 6 or the 5, as it seems that Apple are treading water until their next one, which may or may not be a big change.

Besides... headphone jack... I mean...

Android offers a wide variety of apps and has a huge base of apps and possibilities. iOS on the other hand is not open-source like Android and offers limited functions but not limited to apps. iOS almost every important app that Android does.

I would says iPhones are more stable and performance based devices. Go for a iOS device if you really want to try something new and only if you can spend the extra bucks. iOS is more on the premium side of smartphones and carries a brand image of Apple. Most people use iPhones for the name for the name self.

Stuff on iOS are tricky. No plug and play or media transfer from PC (you need iTunes to transfer music and videos). Also, I would like to mention that iOS devices get all software updates for atleast 3 years. iPhone 5s which was released back in 2013 gets updates till date.

iPhone 6 would be a good device to start with. It was released 2 years ago but still a good device to begin with. Or you could go with a iPhone SE if you got small hands. It was a powerful Camera and twice the ram as iPhone 6. iPhone 6s and 7 are the most expensive range of devices. They have 3D Touch and 2GB of Ram compared to the iPhone 6. SE on the other hand is a small 6s in a 5s body.

Upto you though. I hope this was somewhat helpful. Feel free to shoot me a message if you need to ask more. :)

Would my SLR be decent enough to record movement/dancing? Or would it be better for me to invest in a decent video recorder?

My camera is amazing, but I've never really videoed anything before, so I don't know if it'll suffice.

Depends what SLR it is. My older one didn't actually shoot video St all, which I didn't realise until I came to want to do it. My current one does 4K and does it pretty bloody well too.

They suck..least mine sucked. Lot of apps I use on Android weren't on it. My dad got me one, fairly nice phone tbh but used it twice..

Windows Phones are actually nice, the camera is pretty good but the lack of normal applications is really a thing that keeps customers away from those phones. I used to have one a few years ago and I used it for mobile photography, the mobile photography community is pretty big and they have one facebook group with around ten thousand people which share pictures every day. So if you don't mind not having applications on your phone like Snapchat or VSCO, then you can try a Windows Phone, but if you want all the normal applications buy an Android or Apple phone. And if you do want to use certain applications and have a Windows Phone, keep your old Android phone and use that one to use applications you wouldn't have on Windows Phone.
