Yes but why do you tip without a reason? I've overheard a conversation with 2 Americans once and they were talking about tipping the whole time, even though the waitress who was serving them is a douchebag (She takes a long time to serve food, she doesn't act polite etc.)

Because it is actually factored into a waitstaff person's pay. A restaurant worker (at least here in PA)doesn't have to be paid minimum wage. Many years ago my wife was a waitress (and bartender). She was paid $2 an hour...a good $3 shy of minimum wage at the time. Edited by trip

you get 2.14. but if your a good bartender you can make 70-75k in tips. so it works out. the food industry is weird in the US. I believe the tip method is to make people work harder and more efficient but sometimes you get a bad apple with a waiter or waitress

That's inane. Customers shouldn't be obligated to pay the waiters when it's the management that should make sure they're well payed.

Just tip when you're in the US. 20% unless they suck REALLY bad.

I'm in the UK and if I get an even semi-polite member of waitstaff providing me good service I tip at least a little. I don't really go off percentages because it's less of a custom over here (I think) but it's more of a good will gesture. If the bill is £28.10 for example, I tend to just leave the £30 and be done with it. I feel like I'm splitting hairs if I take some of it and leave a few coins behind. You can keep the change just for not sneering at me when I ordered my steak so rare it could still muster a moo.

Tipping isn't really common here, but many customers who visit middle-high to high-end restaurants usually tip. Most of them tip $2 per meal session, sometimes more, sometimes less. I myself rarely tip because I know they're already paid in minimum wages, but if the service is really good, I usually slide $2 on the checkbook.

As a former Pizza Delivery Guy some of my best tips came from the working moms the worst tips from the rich assholes on the golf corse. So tip ya dummies!

The term "royalty free" music really confuses me.

If I want to post a video on YouTube to earn money, can I use a track that is labeled "royalty free" (like most songs from incompetech.com)?

I just read an article on a new undersea cable being laid by Microsoft and Facebook from Virginia to Spain, and it had me wondering.

How do submarine cables not snap or move with ocean currents? Some parts of the Atlantic are miles deep, so I'm still amazed at how we've been able to do such a thing.

Yes you can, as you would be free to use it without paying any royalties for doing so. Although it would be nice to mention the track in the credits or the footnotes.

Has anyone bought games from G2A.com? I mean it is trustworthy with its shield protection, but the only thing that bothers me is will the Steam key get banned, or will my account get banned if found that the key is a stolen one.

I've used G2A in the past as well, never had any issues. I just recommend that you purchase the G2A shield protection as well, don't cheap out on that (even though it's not that expensive).

I was looking trough my old money collection to see if there is anything of value, and i came across some American money, and why the fak does it say "one dime" "quarter dollar" instead of just "10 cents" or "25 cents"? lol

The word "dime" comes from the French word "dîme", meaning "tithe" or "tenth part", from the Latin decima [pars].

Wikipedia.

25 cents is self explanatory, it's a quarter of a dollar.

I know, but why isn't it just called 25 cents, like in the rest of the world? (Not that there are many countries with 25 cent coins, though)

When you say "a quarter" or "a dime", you are describing the coin itself, not it's value. If you ask me for a quarter, I'll hand you the coin. If you ask me for 25 cents, I could give you 25 pennies, 2 dimes and a nickel, 5 nickels, etc.

When was the last time America was known for doing things like the "rest of the world"?

We do what we want. Also, we go to the moon.
