Words meanings are all in their context, if you were calling someone a "fa**ot" because they were gay, then yeah, that sounds pretty homophobic. If you are calling someone a "fa**ot" because they called you "lame" (An insult initially used to describe handicapped people) then I would not say it is homophobic at all, it's just an insult that has carried over from a specific meaning to a more general one. Just like saying "f*ck you" doesn't mean you want to have sex with them wildly, or calling someone a "Motherf*cker", which doesn't even seem like an insult to me haha.

In Australia calling someone a "c*nt" is an endearing term in the right context and when I was younger we would say it regularly, for laughs sometimes and then it became habit.

I never understood the preoccupation with "Bad words", because words are all depending on context, if you want to whinge because somebody used a swear word non offensively, well f*ck you. That was an easy one.

 

Slightly off track, I still believe that everybody need to relax in general, you should be allowed to joke about anything and everything, because let's face it, getting offended is not the worst thing in the world, and I always hear this thing that "Jokes add to fight/w/e culture." and I don't really buy it, jokes are often just to make light of terrible things because it sucks thinking about them, and people make the jokes because they are aware of how bad and racy it is, which makes it unexpected and often funnier.
