Is there really such a thing as a weight-loss plateau? Is doing one specific exercise to lose weight (like running on a level treadmill at a constant speed) incredibly inefficient for weight loss?

Weight loss occurs when you are burning more calories than you are consuming. You also burn calories at a lower rate if you weigh less, so you will inevitably reach plateaus since the results of any moderate lifestyle change will diminish as you reach an equilibrium state (AKA a plateau) where calories in = calories out.

 

There is nothing inherently wrong with running to burn calories, but I prefer doing weights exercises: it takes less time and you can burn more calories (especially leg exercises like squats and deadlifts) because of the heavy load.

Yeah it seems out of place, for some reason it's reminding me of that one time where I accidentally put my finger in front of the camera lens while taking a picture of a sunset

You can't have a full moon in the same direction as the Sun.

 

Most likely, though, it's the infamous green dot. Consider image on this page.

What is that?

It's a sort of a lens flare. Typical to modern camera optics. Seems to be a combination of lens geometry and anti-reflective coating that cause this. Typically, you need a very bright light source to produce this effect. I've seen people exploit it to take pictures of the eclipse. Under certain conditions, though, even household lights could produce this image.

 

It's always inverted through the center of the frame, and it tends to have a grineesh tint to it. Hence the nickname it got, "Green Dot."

It wears out the throw-out bearings if you keep the clutch pedal down. Leaving it in first is best done if it's a short light. Depends on the state of your car as well.

It's better to shift to neutral and let the clutch out. At least from my experience.
