Perhaps you're both being a tad over sensitive, though I empathize with Sharqi's point of view that the girl has her own agency in this situation too, and that the bigger issue here would be doing anything behind a pal's back.

Nowhere - and nowhere did I state you said those things. But simply because it doesn't reference your post, it is not suddenly rendered invalid.

It was just the way that you took one word that I picked up on, and exchanged it for a word that casts men as grandiose, parochial oppressors - which is kind of the perspective of radical feminism, and the reason I mentioned the radical thing in the first place.

The way I took it? Even though you're the one who made a post deeming everyone who used "the male possessive" as a male chauvinist?

I can see your point, Share. I probably could have phrased it a bit differently.

When I said 'took' I didn't mean your interpretation, I was referring to you [literally] taking the word 'steal' and offering 'liberated' as an alternative.

I also never said people were chauvinistic, at any point, really I was broadly commenting on the language and its possessive nature - and I understand that that is the way that English is constructed, but things just seemed one sided.

"Steal someones woman" is an old and popular phrase used in music, poetry, movies and on TV. You can't take the literal meaning of this phrase so seriously when used in a perfectly natural example... I understand wanting language to change into something more respectful and egalitarian, but you can't do that with force over the internet. Just don't use it yourself, call it good.

But then who would inform us on whether we're being any number of "-ists" or "-isms" merely by a using a non-literal phrase?

Let it go already, PhilBellic has a real question - but please if you care so much make the effort to go back one single page and find evidence of these supposed labels that I have slung at you or anyone else - be my guest...

I'd suspect New Zealand was old Zealand, and was then colonized and renamed New Zealand.

Hey, I think that I've been doing better lately.

On that note, my pizza says it needs to be baked for 18-21 minutes. How do I bake something for -3 minutes?

Very old actually. Did the same thing once, and that time it was absolutely a PV Cargobob.

If you're 100% positive it wasn't carrying a car, or a motorcycle, then it could have been a PV Cargobob. Though tbh I thought they fixed that, blacklisted them, and removed them from garages a long time ago.

Not all apparently. I know a person or two who still have their PV Cargobobs.

A while back somebody posted a link to an addon for chrome that made the black bar at the top of the forums follow you as you scrolled down. I was wondering if anybody happened to have a link to it?

Asked this yesterday but no one ever answered because ya'll suck.

Anyway after much digging I found what I was looking for and to be nice I'll share it with you guys.

It was that thing, turns out Fran made it. Cool addon for the site.

While I am not 100% sure it wasn't towing one, I am pretty sure... and an even 3000 seemed odd too.

Edit: I bought a Cargobob back in the day, would people be punished for using mine? I have to call it with Pegasus...

Is everything a false flag to conspiritards?

I've always wondered what conspiritards from California would say when the big one hits and parts of California decimated. Will they still cry false flag?

is Micheal from gta 5 Irish or Italian?

Out of those two I'd guess Irish-American, as I think (though I may be wrong) that Townley is an English surname.

I don't think it's possible to determine either way.

What I do know is that his character is about as interesting as a loaf of white bread.

Michael is part Irish at the very least.

when you go and pick tattoos for Michael his options include pictures of the Virgin Mary, a Four-Leaf clover, and lucky charms (like Eternal Family written in Latin). obviously these are very heavy Irish-Catholic themes.

Finn 7 five 11

You'd probably respect your friend's wishes and not hit on his girlfriend.

Competing with a buddy for the same girl is one thing, but going for her when they're already dating should be off-limits.

If you wanna ruin a friendship surefire, steal their girl

Unless we are talking about kidnapping or enslavement, how can you 'steal' a person that might want to be with you.

-

I guess it just bothers me to see it always written as the male possessive, particularly since, if he acted upon his impulses he would be interacting with the girl in this case and hurting her boyfriend.

I wasn't trying to say the advice wasn't otherwise salient, his friendship would be undoubtedly and perhaps irrevocably damaged, it's just that I don't understand those semantic foibles.

I think you should stop acting like a robot, is there a computer in your genes? A laptop in your back pocket?

Seriously dude, I used it as an expression, because:

1. That was how it was phrased originally by someone else, I was merely trying to get my point across in a manner that was easily understood in the words of the human asking the question.

2. Saying "steal their girl" was faster than "romantically entice the female partner of your male friend whom is currently in a romantic relationship with the female who you believe out of her own free will perhaps has some feelings for you and that perhaps she will consider leaving her current romantic partner to romantically engage with you if you entice her enough but she still makes the choice"

3. So I take it you have a problem with women saying MY boyfriend? What kind of possessive slave male is this man? How dare this woman claim him as her own, such misogyny and ridiculousness and it must be stopped.

--

There's a lot of patriarchy around and we're on the way to changing that, however this is not one of those situations, you are completely misinterpreting and over thinking a simple turn of phrase designed to appeal clearly and quickly communicate an opinion which had nothing to do with misogyny, but simply respect for a friendship between two males and the dynamics of said friendship.
