So, I was taking a walk on my lawn (which is just next to a busy road) and I found an iPhone 4 with a shattered backplate.

 

Since it's been a little wet recently, I decided to dry the phone before even attempting to turn it on. It works.

 

Now, the phone seems to have been reset or something, because I have the whole 'Hello' set up screen and all that. Also, there is an IMEI number showing.

 

Now to the next few questions:

 

1. Can I keep the phone? I mean, it was laying there in the tall grass, on my lawn, next to a road where people drive 60 - 100 KM/H. Someone just couldn't have dropped it all suddenly.
2. As said, there's an IMEI number showing. Any way the owner could probably track me down using it?
3. If I want to activate the cellphone through iTunes, I need to apply my SIM-card and that still worries me a bit.

Someone could have just dropped it on purpose from his/her car or it might have been some kinda of accident. Have seen a lot of phones dropping from vehicles. My friends have lost lots of devices in the same way. When you're speeding up and have a loose pocket, is isn't difficult for the phone to fall. Or there might be a possibility that someone who might have been walking nearby could have dropped it.

 

 

2. As said, there's an IMEI number showing. Any way the owner could probably track me down using it?

Yes, it's possible to track the IMEI. Most people don't go for it but some others just have the phone blocked remotely via SIMs or IMEIs. So, if none of those happens you're lucky enough.

 

 

3. If I want to activate the cellphone through iTunes, I need to apply my SIM-card and that still worries me a bit.

I think it's possible to bypass the activation with some sort of trick. Never tried it though. Google it and you can find one for sure. Edited May 7, 2015 by Sentrion

If you mean the political system in general, from a completely unbiased viewpoint lol, I'd say it's better if only because we're not stuck with a two-party system. Apart from that I can't comment too much on American politics in comparison to what I know of British politics, so...eh.

At least we don't have religious terrorists trying to destroy the lives of others they simply don't like or understand, the Tea Party, a particularly prominent exemplar. Things are relatively partisan here on the issue of religion - as one might expect from a country self-identifying as (approx.) 60% athiest/agnostic/undeclared. Tony Blair intended once to say something like 'God be with you' at a party conference and the Minister for the Home Office was just like, "No". Our racists try to pretend they aren't which is a fun little waiting game - but really it is the media here that is much the issue, the more left or right-leaning parties are completely dissected for the most bullsh*t things, and everything that they say is completely misrepresented.

'Nigel Farage complains about the cost of Health Tourism, clearly he wants everyone in the world with AIDS to just die rather than coming to the UK'. Lots of stuff like that. I mean UKIP are a motley crew of fools and flagrant xenophobes/homophobes/sexists: it is akin to interrupting the punchline of an already bad joke; they would have made a fool of themselves without any assistance, why make such an effort!

OT: What are some good snacks to have before hitting the gym? My evening shifts at work end at 9pm, and my gym closes at 11 so I like to hit the gym before coming home, but many times I find myself hungry. Only thing I've tried so far is a Nature Valley bar, but was thinking peanuts might be good for the protein. Obviously don't want something unhealthy since I'm working out.

Granola bars and fruit are good choises. Pretzels arent the best but are better than potato chips.

Did you check to see if the money was taken from your account? It could be that the transaction hasn't gone through yet? It's strange you haven't gotten a confirmation email or anything...by now they'd have shipped it out to you at least

I sold mine for $120 120GB 2 Games, 2 Controllers you could get a lot more especally with the games as long as they aren't digital, If mine weren't digital i could've gotten a lot more

No, none of my games are digital, all have a disk. A new ps3 is still $270 over here. And the games are between $30-50. I think im going for $250 with everything in it. I dont think thats too much asked, is it?
