My understanding is that Judaism can be thought of as a race, a religion and a culture.

 

Though from the way you wrote the question I get the feeling you're not really interested in learning and are only asking because you've been called out as racist for saying derogatory things about Jews and are looking for a get out of jail card.

In the 80s the Supreme Court in the U.S. officially ruled that Jews were a race for anti-discrimination purposes-- however, most Jews don't agree with this definition. It is easier to liken it to a pre-modernity nation of peoples, united by ideals, heritage, and outlook. This doesn't really work with modern conception either though, especially since many people conflate Jewish with Israeli, and that conflation would only become more common with such a distinction and idea of what Jewish people are. You can't really define it as just a religion, because Judaism and Jews are not one in the same; there are many Jews who do not practice Judaism. The reality is just that definitions are varied and a consensus overall is hard to reach, because this group and its traditions have existed for so long, and through so much change.

I was just wondering whether my brother is gay??? I was about to read iBooks (we have the same account) on my iPad but he snatched it from me... I told him off and he gave it back. A few moments later, I look in my Purchased Books list and I find A TON of gay pornography. I ask him about it, and he says that when he left his iPad at work to go to lunch, his colleagues played a prank on him and downloaded it. I have suspected it for a long time, but I'm not sure, and I don't want to accuse and hurt his feelings. Halp!

Don't see how it would hurt his feelings if you simply asked. Definitely don't want to pressure him just make him feel comfortable and let him know you're there.

Why does it matter? I don't imagine who you are sexually interested in is any great priority to him, so why in his case should it be any different? If he cares for your recognition then he would come out, and if not, his sexuality is his alone. It could be as innocuous as he says, but if you leave the subject and he brings it up again, then let him set the tone of the conversation, if he is gay he might be highly closeted and ashamed of his feelings - trying to force him out wouldn't do much good if he is content enough as he is.

 

Although you could ask him to get his own iBooks account, because just as much as your brothers interests are important, I imagine that you might not enjoy seeing that sort of thing - everyone deserves equal respect, so it would be perfectly fine to expect that.

The universe is by definition an inclusive name for everything. Unless we re-defined the canon, there is one universe, and it is what holds everything we can observe by any metric.

 

EDIT: I should add that there is a hypothetical known as the multiverse that might be worth your time if you're interested in theoretical boundaries of spacetime and ways that people are trying to work out how it works.

 

As far as dimensions go, the consensus is less clear. There is a lot of work being done in string theory and superstring theory, and a lot of other places, to work out just how the universe works in regards to particles and forces of nature. It is a frontier of sorts, one that would be worth going to university for-- especially if you can get into a nice physics department.

I was in year 4 it was yeas ago and we where watching this film about an alien that came out of the sea, I think it was filmed in the UK it was all in colour, and I remember it was set on a beach and there was a pier in the background rather like this...

and from what I can recall the monster or alien came out of the sea or the sand and there was a youngish girl who looked after it...and it looked a bit like the one from The Monster of Piedras Blancas...like this

So, it's now season for the Ixodes ricinus ticks in my area and I'm thinking of giving my dog garlic to prevent the parasites from bitting on to him.

I acknowledge that garlic can be potientially deadly to dogs, but there must be a certain amount that will work as both an effective and safe dose to my dog.

 

So, any idea of how much that dose may contain?

 

If it makes a difference, my dog is 4-year-old, normal weight, male labrador retriever.

Newer computers with win8.1 has onedrive installed which can be accessed from everywhere (just sign into your microsoft account)

You people are starting to become overly sensitive. And i mean it for the whole forum.

But i come form a place where feminism is still considered a good thing by most people (and we are still far from gender equality), black people is not segregated and our jokes make fun of all races, ideologies, etc. equally.

 

So i have no idea whether that is good or bad (probably just a different scale of grey).

I have a question and i am being serious, unfortunately for a while people have been playing around with my car, ripping P plates off and stupid sh*t like that, but today after my exam, i caught both people who have been doing it all this time and they weren't just ripping off my P plates, no. They actually were taking off my number plates, and no i didn't take photos or vids because well just way too obvious, but i am wondering, should i report it at all or just leave it?? really confused on what to do??
