What's the best way to clear out mucus from the back of my throat? Without hacking/coughing as I don't want to damage my vocal cords.

Any remedies to break it down slowly? Please help as it's worrying me and annoying.

Get some salt *water* and gargle it, spit it out. Do this a few times a day for a couple days and you should be golden. If it's really bad you could use a neti pot, the thing that looks like a tea pot that put salt water in your nose. It sucks to do it but it works.

Edit: how did I just now realize that said wart. SMH!

What is the correct pronunciation for "Carbine"? I pronounce it Car-byne, but Neil Young pronounced it Car-Bean in the song "Revolution Blues"

Depends I guess... I say 'car-byne.' But have heard lots of others say car-bean.

It's like how Americans say aluminum- A lew ma num, while people in the UK say al-lu-men-iam.

Why do people wear watches loose these days? I mean they just get it out of the box and shove it on their wrists without adjusting it lol

I'm still wondering why people even wear watches anymore. As much as I dislike people depending too much on technology, I don't see the purpose of a watch is unless you don't have a cell phone or work in a field where you can't access your cell phone.

^Don't tell that to one of my friends. He'll defend to his death the importance to have a $10,000 Rolex that is made out of invincible glass and can handle being under 100 feet of water. Apparently he finds checking your phone for the time during a fancy dinner "incredibly rude," so that's his reason.

Why have a £10,000 watch? You can take a family of 8 to spain for that price.

That's because it's spelled differently in the U.K.

I find the convenience of a wrist watch is much better than the idea of digging out a device from a pocket. The simple tipping of the wrist vs. the fumbling to get the phone out and turning it on.

Some people have swelling problems, the tight watch band digging into the flesh is uncomfortable. Spidel makes an easy solution to that. But, Why buy a 30$US band for a 6$US watch?

In my opinion it's much easier to just look down at your wrist instead of having to get your phone out of your pocket, turn it on, check the time, turn it off, and put it back in your pocket.

What you said, I always thought it was kinda weird that kids at my high school would risk getting their phones taken away to check the time. Digital watches are like $2 now.

I like wearing watches. I also like wearing the analogue ones since they look much nicer than digital

This is the only kind of watch I'd like to get, seeing as working in the sun got me used to reading shadows & the sun's position to tell the time. But then again, once the sun goes away for the night or if you go inside, you're f*cked.

I can't go scuba diving with my phone attached to my wrist either.

Though if I was anything more than an occasional recreational diver I'd probably buy a dive computer.

Depends, UK English go by Car-bine, while US English uses Car-bean the most. But either way is fine.. personally, I say Car-bean.. just used to it. DI's and all said it that way too, so it's just normal. When I hear some people say it Car-bine .. I have to do a mental thought and go 'Oh, car-bean.. got it'.

Ah, I see, honestly I never noticed it was spelled differently. But it was just an example.

Maybe this is a better one: Caramel; some people say car-uh-mul; some people say care-uh-mel.

I pronounce it "Care-A-Mel"

Oddly enough, I've been told that I pronounce "Yacht" as "Yat". Does anyone else do that?
