Serious question expecting serious answer: I asked this recently on reddit and the only answer I got was "get married and find out".

1) Why is that I can always see stories about "women kicking their husbands onto the couch". It's carried as a joke many times. "John pissed off Jane so he's sleeping on the couch tonight."

2) and also "women kicking their husbands out of the house". Stuff like "John and Jane got into a big argument and Jane kicked him out of the house".

In a house that both parites have paid for equally, on what grounds does this happen? If Jane was paying for the house, then by all means she can couch him or kick him out and I will be in full support of it. But how can this happen when the payment of the residence is equally split.

Please try to answer this question in a different universe than gender politics. I don't want to spiral into a bigass thread on feminism or something. I just want an actual answer from people with social experience and knowledge of societal standards and norms.

Ok, let's see if I can explain this slow for you:

1) Because it happens.

2) Because women logic

See? One day, you will understand that all the "gender equality" does NOT appply for every situation. I repeat, women.

Accept what? I knew you had an agenda, I called it ;)

Still have no idea what you're on about. Oh well. H8ers gonna hate.

Mayhap they dont even know the answer, and they do this to evade the truth.

Exactly what Zook is doing. Has no idea. Just pretending to be all smug and pretentious, lol.

It would be like trying to explain what red is to a blind person

Try it, you never know what the blind person could learn from your favour even if it seems futile at first.

Seriously guys, I'm not doing this to start some flame war between MRAs and feminists. I'm genuinely curious. I want to know that in the event of an argument is my spouse/partner legally entitled to expel me from a property that I am the owner of either in full or in part. Does this apply to America, Canda, or both.

Would someone just answer the question...

Thank you for attempting to give a serious answer, I sincerely appreciate it. But this does nothing to solve my inquiry. Its like someone asking "why does the sun rise in the east and set in the west" and you answer "because Earth logic".

The person asking still has no idea what "Earth logic" has to do with the position of the sun during dawn and dusk. And "because it happens" is especially defeating.

"Why do trees shed their leaves in autumn?" ... "because it happens".

Thank you for trying, though.

You see, these kind of things you cannot see them like the way you want.

Yes, it's your house and her house too, but what would you do in that situation? After a discussion, you cannot expect to say "k, see ya' tomorrow" and then cuddle the whole night. As you both want to be far AFTER the argument, one of you have to leave. Which one? You.

"Evade the truth" What is this truth we are evading?

I'll give it a shot maybe it's a stereotype coming from sitcoms that generally have dominant wives. Maybe it does happen, but maybe women also leave the house. You haven't heard of women packing their bags and leaving? It happens I saw it on King Of Queens last night.

I don't think they have any legal rights to do it, it just most adults are sensible and one person needs to go and cool off.

Ah, that makes more sense. You are implying that after an argument, just to blow off some steam, that the two partners depart and be away from each other. The man voluntarily leaves and probably heads to the park for a walk or to the bar to relax a bit. It is a mutual agreement, in part. Acted upon, but not spoken. I understand that and am totally fine with it.

But I'm not talking about leaving semi-voluntarily to relax a bit. I'm talking about those situations where Jane says to John "I am mad at you, leave this house". Can John reply with "I have paid for this property, you cannot expel me from it".

Does this mean, if i get married in Canada, I am liable to vacate my property at the notice of my spouse/partner? Even if, on due progress I have paid for the mortgage in equal/greater payments than my partner?

Pretty much this. It's more of a sitcom stereotype.

In reality, (at least in my own and others I know experiences) it's more often the woman leaving to go stay with friends or family until the situation is resolved.

WAIT A FUKKEN MOMENT! Are you actually telling me that you thought your partner could demand you with legal grounds to leave a house that is yours? Because thats impossible. Yes John keeps the house.

(Unless she asks for the divorce, then things can get pretty murky).

See how easy that was guys? Actual answers. None of this "hurr durr red pill crap".

Thanks for finally saying something of substance. Funny how once Zook gave in Yen followed. My curiosity is quelled quite a bit.

I don't watch sitcoms nor do I have a large enough social circle of friends to from first-hand experience. But if what you claim is true...I will assume this is purely a fictional sitcom thing. A joke that exists thinking it mocks reality but it doesn't. Sort of like "dumb blonde" jokes. They exist pretending like they are real, but in real life blondes are not consistently stupid or anything. So I'm assuming when I read "woman kicks husband out of house after fight" it's just a joke.

And, if what Yen claims is true, it brings up another thing.

In reality, (at least in my own and others I know experiences) it's more often the woman leaving to go stay with friends or family until the situation is resolved.

During these experiences of yours. Does the woman leave on her own volition, or does the husband say "Jane, leave the house because I am mad at you". If it is the latter, than that is largely unfair to women. If Jane has paid for the house she cannot and should not be kicked out at the will of John.

I wish the whole "kicking out" concept was just a sitcom thing. Not just the gender part of it, but the whole concept altogether. I wish that after a spousal argument there was no "kicking out". Just one party voluntarily leaving on their own will until the heat died down.

Being forcefully removed from a home that you own is just beyond harsh. Regardless of whether women/men do it.

Isn't "lean" basically the same thing as heroin? A euphoric sedation?

Not really sure what you mean by "the same thing", do you mean the feeling they give you?

You should read up on Promethazine

and Codeine.

They are the main ingredients in the cough syrup used as "lean".

Then read up on Heroin

Maybe it will enlighten you a bit.

A friend of mine growing up turned into a heroin addict, and he used to drink the cough syrup too, he seemed more sedate and dozey/dopey after doing H, but was totally different after chugging the syrup, he seemed to be hallucinating in some way, and I could barely understand him talking half the time.

Didn't seem very similar to me.

Both are a pretty terrible idea though.

Oh no I definItely don't plan on doing it this Dumb song was stuck in my head and it had the word lean in it and I wanted to know what lean was and now I'm kinda baffled why so many people do it if it's as dangerous as my research is making me believe.

i get kicked to the couch because i tend to snore. but i would assume what you mean is they get into fight and dont feel like being in the same room with each other, so the man usually goes to the couch. If you were in a relationship or have been then you should understand.

What is it with GTAForumers posting stuff pertaining to GTA Online in the GTA V section?

Sections are hard.

Some people will just home in for the first thing that looks mildly relevant, and only realise there's an actual section for what they want when told. Others just don't seem to know what the appropriate section is, and I couldn't say how, since it's fairly obvious :p

I want to become a diplomat, but I'm unsure on what course I should take. The Portuguese government requires only that you have a degree (in whatever field). What should I take, Political Science or IR?

Pretty much, yes, but usually it's a somewhat reserved event, which means that it's just a screening of the movie for a few selected guests before the commercial release.

they use to have what was called a "sneak preview" in the US. where you could watch the movie a week before release and get to see another movie for free.

There isn't much point changing it because you can - if you realise sometimes there's a name you actually want, go for it. Maybe cleaning up your current username or something.

Dr Victor Frankenstein.

He might've been a crazy, verbose bastard but you should at least do him the honour of using his full name and title.

Well, all I can say is numbers, random capital letters and things like xXx don't make for a pretty name, at least.

I'm not sure why I picked this name, I just put in any random crap, hit select and expected the site would ask me if I wanted to confirm or not, but nope, lol.
