Can a standard USB keyboard work on ps3?

Yes, it's what I use.

What's a better approach to self-teaching guitar? So far my method is choosing a song I want to learn & watching a YT tutorial video a million times until I slowly get it. I don't actually know chords... or any of the terminology... HELP?!

PM me.

I can teach you chord structures quickly.

And anything else.

You can also get beginner's books which teach you songs that have progressively more chords. So you'll start to learn the basic terminology, then your first chord (probably C) and your first song, then learn another chord and another song etc. until you know a decent variety of chords.

Rocksmith isn't bad for learning chords and basic techniques. I'd give it a try.

Also, it helps a lot to learn some basic music theory. There are plenty of introductory textbooks on the subject. Probably some video lectures as well. Coursera has a course on Fundamentals of Music Theory, though, I have no idea if it's any good.

I played guitar for nearly 20 years before picking up Rocksmith. I think Rocksmith is a good learning tool.

Best way to learn guitar IMO is to learn to play 1 easy 3 or 4 chord song that you like and want to play...and play the sh*t out of it...that one song...a billion times a day every day.

No, it's much better to learn universal chord structures and where to play on the neck.

Agreed, but we are talking an easy way to learn for beginning. Learning chord structure is like reading a science book when all you really want to do is hammer out a song for fun. :)

I'm just pulling guessing out of my ass. Hey...it's a weekend morning and I'm all jacked up on coffee.

Absolutely, but with universal chord structures (in short, barre chords) you can play anything!!!

Sure, love barre chords. Playing C, D, G up on the neck is just such a rewarding way to start and get some strength.

Still - me just spewing crap.

Winning, it's 10:30AM ish here...slept in till 8. Just finished pounding a full 10 cup pot of coffee.

How do you convert a video clip to a .gif but keep it in the .gif format?

You can use use a number of websites that will covert YouTube videos, although quality and size can be an issue, as can the watermark they'll shove on it. Or if you've got the original video and it can play in a Chrome browser window, then get the MakeGIF Video Capture extension for Chrome and use that.

I just mad because people are substituting actually learning an instrument with just learning selected riffs and songs =)

I just mad because people are substituting actually learning an instrument with just learning selected riffs and songs =) Well i do agree, learning the old proven right way is better in thr long run, but Rocksmith is pretty good at teaching the basics to playing some songs and getting your hands' muscle memory developement started.

Also, rocksmith is cheaper, and has a large selection of good songs, and many DLC songs...

I loved learning all my favorite Disturbed songs :)

Well.. Just found out that my neighbor is the mother of Aurora Snow, which leads me to wonder...

How does it feel as a parent to see that you raised a pornstar?

I know her son, who I partied with a few times before he became a quadrapelegic after trying to ride his ninja bike while drunk... I took photos with him and his sister before, but didn't find out my neighbor was the mom of the two till today when I saw aurora leave the house saying bye mom.

So now I'm curious, but don't want to ask her.

Don't judge. Keith was a an EMT, caregiver for the elderly, and very good coworker with a bright future. He made one mistake that took all that away in a flash. And their mother is a great lady, I know she did well as a parent, but I just wonder how it feels as a parent knowing you did your part and raised a successful pornstar (she came out in Superbad :p). I'm not shaming the career choice, I just wonder how it makes the parents feel.

Everyone is a college grad here, plank, so yes, they are well educated, you judgmental dick

Resting? depends on your age and gender, going by your profile 70ish is about average bpm http://www.netfit.co.uk/fitness/test/resting-heart-rate.htm any higher is less good, above 80 is bad. I have found different figures from different sources, some saying 60-100 BPM is average like from the American heart association.

Below 60 is considered very good. Until about 0 obviously.
