Failure, I work with a lot of 14 year-olds. It's a lost cause trying to educate them in any way, they've gotta make their own mistakes.

Last week's lesson: why I'm now the owner of your sunglasses and why you can't have them back.

A few weeks ago, I took the ACT. Today, my scores came in. Overall, I scored better than roughly 90 percent of people in America who took the test. Keeping in mind that I'm in 7th grade, and this is a high school level test, do you guys think I did well on this test?

What marks did you get?
My composite score (the overall score) was 30 out of 36. Keep in my mind it's a high school level test, and I'm in 7th grade.

Edit:30, not 31.

Didn't you say before that you were 14, and 19 before that? What next, are you going to claim to be a fetus in its second trimester?
I think we all know I was being deceitful about my age, before hand. I'm 14, obviously.

Edit: I'd post a pic, but my mother took the results page, and has apparently lost it. I do have the envelope they arrived in, however.

Well done on the excellent results, but why do you want approval from us? You did well, yes, but if you rest on your laurels and get it into your head that you're a genius and don't need to study, you won't be doing well for long.

Your test score suggests that you have a lot of promise, which is great, but you need to temper that with humility.

I just wanted to see if had a good score, dude.

as for not studying, i never do.

just pointing out, i have consistently scored high grades, and have been in the Gifted Students Program since 3rd grade.

and yet i don't study

giving grades for reference

M/J Two-Dimensional Studio Art 2= 98%

Spanish= 100%

critical thinking=99%

language arts=99%

civics=96%

math=97%

robotics=100%

science=99%

and yes, i need to work on humility

Don't be that f*cking guy. Everyone hates that guy. You're getting dangerously close to bragging about the fact you do no studying and get good grades. You should study, if you keep up the attitude you never need to study you will fail, and everyone around you will enjoy it.

Didn't have to study

Scored 100% on Humblebragging test

Humble wasn't the first word that came to mind.

2 days of this discussion I think is more than enough.

Good work on the grades, "don't get cocky, kid;" life won't always be this easy for you. Time to start studying before college kicks you out on your drunk ass with the Abercrombie girls.

Humblebrag is where you try to pass something off as humble but it is just bullsh*t bragging

"Whew, these 10k morning runs are killing me"

"I am going to have to buy new pants to fit me soon, I've lost so much weight"

"So tired this morning, was up all night partying"

I'm thinking of having a mullet like this one.

Are mullets still accepted in modern society?

You probably wouldn't be burned at the stake for it. I didn't think people wore mullets for 'acceptance' anyhow.

Then it's settled. I'm skipping the trim and letting my hair grow for the next few months.

Oh boy I'm excited.

You're smart enough to know that the grade was good, you just wanted to post it here for some approval (which is reasonable, though posting the result several times is not).

I've never been one for these "gifted student" programs. To me they just seem to inflate egos. The cleverest, most mathematically-gifted student I knew ended up resitting his final year of sixth form (high school) because he became complacent and didn't study. Schools place far too much emphasis on natural ability and too little on work ethic.

You're a clever person, but one day you will be faced with a concept that you don't understand on first reading. The only way to prepare yourself for this is by learning how to study. If you really do find everything your teachers give you to be too easy, then practice some initiative and read ahead. Learn a programming language, teach yourself calculus, see which area of academia you're suited to so you can focus on it.

I know I sound like a bit of a pratt saying all this, but believe me, it's much better to learn this lesson now.

I cucked Alex Jones

Life doesn't care whether or not you can score a 30 on the ACT without studying. Life will hand you a bag of sh*t and see whether or not you can turn that bag of sh*t into something palpable. Intelligence doesn't matter. Discipline and perseverance do.

Anyone ever been to the Bay Area car scene?

Are there all types of cars there? Or usually performance cars?

That's less someone bragging and more them telling you about their day.

Humblebragging is more akin to fishing for compliments, such as "I've gained five pounds, now I'm up to a size 3 and SUCH a fatass"

Has Alien or Marwin Moody ever considered being a street racer?

You make a self depreciating comment to draw attention to something that is positive about yourself or that happened to you.

This might seem like a question for the mod section. Is there any ICEnhancer or graphics mod for GTA IV that will actually work on version 1.0.7.0? Like, without making the sky purple or the water invisible?

No, I've said it before and will say it again; street racing is vile. Absolutely idiotic. Also, I'm assuming that by import cars you're referring to Japanese cars, which don't interest me. =) I'm an Alfa Romeo / Saab man.
