You do approve the designs, but in order to avoid conflict about who designed what, each employee has an ID number that prints out on the design page, so if you were to make edits to the design it would show your ID number and you'd have to hope no one would notice.

I'd roll the dice unless I had some backup employment plan for me and the people I would jeopardize by going public with the mistake. Not the kindest move to the random kids out there, but it's easy to prioritize known people and known needs over unknown people and "possible" problems.

 

Very interesting question though, is this based in reality or just some experimental question?

Haven't seen it, but I've tried to read the book and it's just a piss-poor attempt at intellectualizing porn. Now, as a literature junkie, I'm not one to stop reading a book halfway through, but this one was so painfully bad that I couldn't suffer it anymore.

The example I took from the book assumes that he was doing a decent job during those five years, as he was only doing QA product testing, and it wasn't until when he was promoted that you realized he sucked because that actually required the use of some kind of design or engineering background, which he did not have.

During hiring season, you interview a "dream" applicant who wants a position in product QA. His resume sings praises such as graduating from an Ivy League school Summa Cum Laude with a mechanical engineering degree

 

if he was a "dream applicant" because of a mechanical engineering degree and the only thing you did was call two people to verify and not once ask him an engineering question or establish his competence yourself, then it's your own fault. the person who hired you to hire people should also be fired
