So I don't get much sleep each night. On average, I get about 4 hours of sleep each night. Other than feeling incredibly tired and weak as soon as I wake up, I feel fine throughout the day. I tried sleeping for more last weekend and ended up sleeping for about 10 hours. I woke up with back pain, neck pain, a headache, some pain in certain joints, like my elbows, and I felt exhausted the entire day. I tried getting extra sleep for a few more days and it just got worse. Went back to my short sleeping schedule, and after a couple days, I felt better. Is having those pains normal? At all?

Not really, no. Could have something to do with your mattress though...

It's probably what's causing you to feel pain after sleeping for awhile...that's the only thing I can think of that would explain what you described.

Alright then.

How much will a new one cost? I haven't gotten a new one in 10 years lol.

A good mattress would probably cost you $250-$400, no lie. Check out a store called Sleepy's, they usually have awesome deals.

You can often find free ones abandoned in lane ways or tossed on nature strips if you dont mind putting up with mysterious stains.

Reformed Squid

People often give their own mattresses away for free as well, it's a bit less sketchy getting them that way

That's how I got mine, and it's not bad at all.

Can someone please explain why one of my cousins refers to Doritos and Mointain Dew as "gamer fuel"?

Because that's the stereotype food that gamers consume.

I have no idea, Lightning.

Drunken Cowboy

Mountain Dew and Doritos did a lot of cross-promotion with Halo, Call of Duty, and World of Warcraft over the last decade. Those are the big name stereotypical "gamer/MLG" titles. Why they approached those two poor excuses for "food", I'm not sure.

QUESTION

Any good motorcycle help forums out there? I'm trying to build my bike again and I'm getting lost around engine installation.

Need help installing your engine? Better call Terry and Clay to help. ;)

Maybe one of those guided go to sleep meditation recordings or one of the ocean or rain forests or sh*t like that. I've got a mate who swears by them for going to sleep and he's a bit of yobbo really, not one of those hippy type spiritual dudes, so there might be something going for it. Edited by Jolly Swagman

I've tried those :) along with hypnosis and ASMR videos, sometimes they work - but it's too unreliable. Have also tried over the counter sleeping pills like melatonin, tried exercising a few hours before bed, tried sleepy time tea, taking a bath before bed, and so many other things. :'(

Alcohol before bed? Like a shot of Whisky or similar. I always find myself getting tired a short while after drinking.

I had the same problem. My solution is TV :) I hadn't been watching tv for years before I found that nothing makes me to sleep faster than some boring ads

Id get a new mattress and also place some supports under your bed so the middle if the mattress does not sag. I had back issues on my old mattress as well

-What does 'inb4' means?

-I have this crappy laptop that I got for free about a year ago. It has an Intel Celeron 847, 2GB of RAM and a Intel HD 2000. Hell, is far far from being a gaming pc, but it was free. Anyway, I use it mostly to play CoD MW2 and Dota 2, but I'd like to know, how can I tell if it is overheating or something? The processor is really bad and I'm afraid these games might push it too far. I'm saving for a desktop PC but I won't be able to buy a good one until October I think

-In before - usually posted as putting a word in before a mod locks a topic for the hell of it, as 'inb4 lock', to show they think the topic is stupid

-Isn't Speccy a program to know what's your hardware?

Yes, although it also displays temperatures if the component allows it, like in this image for the CPU.

smoke a joint 30mins prior to bed time or ambien..sometimes forcing yourself too stay awake does the trick, like watching tv or a reading a book

You might have sleep apnea, I would recommend speaking with your doctor and participating in a sleep study. A CPAP might make your nights so much better.

Yeah, weed is a great sleep aid.
