First the moon, then Mars. After that, the "sky is the limit". Plenty of worlds out there in the galaxy for us to f*ck up as bad as Earth.

 

Edit: In all seriousness, the value of setting foot on (and setting up on) the moon is the knowledge gained that could be useful in colonization of Mars.

I think in inspiration alone we could re-coup the cost. We need to be explorers... it's a basic human desire, our curiosity needs to be fulfilled. Plus, can't we mine the moon for things? Water? Having a telescope based on the moon woud also be a boon to astonomy with the clarity of far off images it could produce.

Mars? Unlikely. Its atmosphere has been stripped away, meaning that all water, heat, food etc would have to be created in a controlled environment, the planet, even if it could sustain life, would not for very long. Mining things like the asteroid belt might be useful, but than you would also have to take into consideration in not altering the mass of the earth that it starts to effect the orbit.

 

As for using the moon as a launching point....that does not make any sense.

It makes perfect sense. The vast majority of fuel used in space exploration is burned up breaking out of the Earth's atmosphere. Having a ship on the moon would allow more of it to be converted to labs, hydroponic bays, storage, fuel space for extreme trips or whatever.

You won't miss out on any core features of the game by buying last-gen (aside from first-person driving), I have a PS3 copy and still play it today. Now is as good a time as any to buy the game used because prices have plummeted since the next-gen release.

 

I don't think next-gen GTAV justifies buying another console just for the extra features and graphical improvements. I am however going to get the PC version when it comes out because then I can start modding the game and playing 3rd party multiplayer, so if you have a decent PC I'd suggest waiting the extra month.

When I reverse and have the wheel cranked to one of the sides, the whole car kind of shudders and shakes like it's rubbing on something... anyone know what this is? I drive a 2002 Acura MDX.

Does anyone know any good methods of under-keyboard cleaning? I've extracted all keys, and tried to wipe off the mud with a cloth, and with cotton, but not every single bit of mud is removed. What can be done? I've looked up on YouTube a few tutorials, but I can't simply throw my keyboard in water, it's still and electrical system. I have it since 2007, it's pretty old, yet I don't want to give it up because it still works perfectly. This is what it looks like:

 

 

Anyone knows any suggestions? What methods do you use?

I find alcohol and cotton buds works quite well. Also you could try using a small amount of cleaner like Cif, firmly rubbing it around with a cloth.

I would try to disassemble it as much as possible and just wash off the plastic shell. That's what I do anyway, unscrew the bottom, and the top part has all the keys with the dust and sh*t. Pop the keys out, use compressed air and/or water to clear out the gunk, wipe off the top, dry it and reassemble. I also rub each key, because they have some dirt that doesn't come off so easily. Takes a while and makes your fingers bleed (exaggeration), but it works for me.

By the way, you will manage to get rid of the dirt (e.g. around F12 key) but the chassis will probably stay yellow forever as that's just what plastic does (hence everything today being black instead of beige).

I had no idea I am able to detach the electrical system from the button parts. I'll give it a try next week. In the worst case scenario, should something go wrong and it won't work anymore, I'll simply buy another, but I'm not the kind of guy who gives up a working object. As for what epoxi said about that dirt around the F12 key, I believe that it could be wiped off as less as possible. It doesn't need to be perfect, I'm mainly targeting for a good functionality.

Replying to your question, I'm not 100% sure. Maybe it's something with your wheels? Something similar happened to my old car where if I brake while turning, the car shook like crazy.

It was only funny if I was the first responder (funny to me at least).

 

It's weird though, because it only happens in reverse and when the wheel is cranked all the way, like it has to be to get out of my driveway...
