Okay, so I cut my finger about an hour ago on accident. So, it's like a bad paper cut, but It hasn't stopped bleeding. Is this normal?

An hour seems a bit too long, dude. Try disinfecting it and holding a piece of cotton drenched in hydrogen peroxide gently against it... That's what I usually do.

Why are so many high schools closed campus during lunch? It's almost like they're forcing us to eat their garbage when I could go across the street to get something way better without spending a dime more. Is there some other reason?

Schools do have some level of duty of care for students, after all.

youd have to make multiple alterations to the car so that it meets emission standards and U.S. Dot standards so your better off having a Nissan GTR R35

 

The R34 is essentially impossible to import into the United States because of hanky panky that happened with Motorex.

 

Motorex was a company that imported a bunch of R33 Skylines and crash tested them until they had a set of modifications they could make to the car to make them road legal in the US. They imported many R33s, applied these modifications and made loads of money, but started sneaking in R32s and R34s with the same modifications and passing them off as legal. However the set of modifications was only valid for R33s and when the NHTSA found out what was going on they overcompensated and have essentially banned the importation of R34s (and R32s) outright (plus declared all R32s and R34s imported by Motorex as illegal).

 

JK Technologies, LLC, who performed the actual crash testing for Motorex, did petition the NHTSA to perform crash testing for R34's. Due to the Motorex fiasco and VCP-17 above, the petition was denied and will continue to be denied for R32's and R34's. As for R33's, only JK Technologies have any information or the capabilities to federally legalize these vehicles.

So even if you had millions of dollars to fund crash testing, the NHTSA (having had their hands burnt) will likely not even grant you permission to have the testing validated.

You're right W/R/T the federal 25-year law, but that doesn't make importing R32s necessarily legal across the entire US- pretty sure it's a state-by-state thing.

Cuts that don't stop bleeding are often a symptom of something more serious - depending on how bad the cut actually was, they'd be quite right to go see a doctor about it.

Unless there is a significant break in the skin, it is unlikely the mark will stay.

 

I have been hit pretty bad before and despite having a broken nose and fractured orbit at the time, the skin on my face has healed flawlessly. Even my dog bite (on my arm though) has healed to a barely perceptible set of marks in just a couple of years, and any redness that was there has gone completely.

I think mainly because most of the American public doesn't give a sh*t.

 

Which blows me away... i was so sad when they retired the space shuttles.

I guess it mostly comes down to difficulties in funding. Space missions are very costly projects and budgetary constraints play a very big part. There have been recent plans for missions to the Moon for exploration, including a series of American missions scheduled to begin in 2018, the ILN. Let's see how all of that works... Unfortunately, I don't believe Portugal will ever host a space mission, which sucks, as I love space exploration.

I think in inspiration alone we could re-coup the cost. We need to be explorers... it's a basic human desire, our curiosity needs to be fulfilled. Plus, can't we mine the moon for things? Water? Having a telescope based on the moon woud also be a boon to astonomy with the clarity of far off images it could produce.

I suppose we could scavenge it for water, yes, although whether that would be worth it is debatable. I still think it is a worthwhile endeavor, even if for the sheer spirit of adventure of it alone. Who knows what else we could discover? And I agree on the telescope part. The images we could obtain would be incredible.

Harvesting the moon is a terrible idea. The risk is not worth the reward. As for the telescope....it is far more efficient to use unmanned "drones" so to speak.
