Damn. What'd you go to court for?
Running a red light.
So we both go to court because of "traffic violations".

then i wouldnt be worried, not sure what state you live in, but some states you can pre pay the ticket unless you are a minorThat's the thing; I got a ticket for no reason.

"Reckless Driving", placed in quotes because despite the fact that someone crashed their car into my old car, I got a ticket for it.

I wasn't speeding. If anything, I was going slower than the poster speed limit. And what's the point of getting a lawyer, exactly? Waste a crazy amount of money on a case that police officers say is stupid?

because if you are under 18, you will lose your license till 18, and i believe if you under 21 you will still lose your license and its 6pts on your dl and your insurance rates will go up.

They charged me with "reckless driving" and said that I was at fault despite the fact that I told them what happened. And if you look at both cars, you can tell that I'm not at fault.

i dont see how they can charge you with "reckless driving" then. something is missing from this story. i would definetly get a lawyer, because the judge will you too. because reckless driving technically is a jailable offense.

How would I display data on a line graph from both a control and an experimental group?

The professor wants the data displayed like this:

Image

The difference is that the x-axis would represent temperature of water that goldfish are swimming in, while the y-axis would be the rate of gas exchange (gill movements) observed in a 60 second period. The four temperatures were 20, 15, 10, and 5 (all Celsius), with the control staying at 20C throughout the experiment. Understandably, each fish was measured four times.

In short: My dilemma is trying to figure out how to organize the x-axis so that I can create a line for the control group, because as it stands, I would only have a vertical line with four different points.

You don't really have a control here. You have four data points with error bars. Control is something you use to exclude a variable. Temperature is the only variable you're watching.

How would you recommend I graph the data in that case?

Just to clarify (I'm not saying you misread anything, I'm just re-iterating just in case):

-I had two fish bowls each with one goldfish

-With one fish bowl, the temperature remained at 20C throughout and we measured gill movements four different times in four different sixty-second periods.

-With the other fish bowl, we started at 20C and counted gill movements for sixty seconds, reduced to 15C and did another measurement, until we did a final measurement at 5C

-The professor would like the data presented on a line graph, with gill movements on the y-axis, and temperatures on the x-axis.

Or perhaps it might be easier if I show you properly:

Colorado Statues state;

Reckless driving. A person who drives a motor vehicle, bicycle, electrical assisted bicycle, or low-power scooter in such a manner as to indicate either a wanton or a willful disregard for the safety of persons or property commits reckless driving, which is a class 2 misdemeanor traffic offense. 42-4-1401 (2)

Careless driving. A person who drives a motor vehicle, electrical assisted bicycle, or low-powered scooter in a careless and imprudent manner, without due regard for the width, grade, curves, corners, traffic, or use of the streets and highways and all other attendant circumstances, commits careless driving, which is a class 2 misdemeanor traffic offense when no bodily injury or death to another results. 42-4-1402 (2) (a)

A driver who fails to properly exhibit due care and caution while approaching or passing a stationary authorized emergency vehicle that is giving a visual signal commits careless driving, which is a class 2 misdemeanor traffic offense when no bodily injury or death to another results. 42-4-705 (3) (b)

A driver who fails to properly exhibit due care and caution while approaching or passing a maintenance, repair, or construction vehicle that is moving at less than 20 miles per hour commits careless driving, which is a class 2 misdemeanor traffic offense when no bodily injury or death to another results. 42-4-705 (3) (b)

A driver who fails to properly exhibit due care and caution while approaching or passing a motor vehicle where the tires are being equipped with chains on the side of the highway commits careless driving, which is a class 2 misdemeanor traffic offense when no bodily injury or death to another results. 42-4-705 (3) (b)

A driver who, in a careless and imprudent manner, drives his or her vehicle unnecessarily close to, toward, or near a bicyclist, commits careless driving, which is a class 2 misdemeanor traffic offense when no bodily injury or death to another results. 42-2-136 (6) (a)

If you were charged with "Reckless", not "Careless", I'd be a bit more worried and might want to consider talking to someone about it.

I got popped speeding on I95 through Maryland and since I was doing twice the speed limit "reckless driving" is automatically tacked on.

I was 17 years old - no mention of losing my license.

*went to court and had it reduced to $100 speeding fine.

oh, well here in good ol California they take that sh*t way too seriously....

Reckless Driving Penalties in California

Offense/Violation

Classification

Criminal Penalties

Points Applied to License

Other Administrative Penalties

Reckless Driving, section 23103

Misdemeanor

Incarceration of at least five days, but not more than 90 days with fines ranging from a minimum of $145 to a maximum of $1,000

2

Courts may suspend license automatically. DMV may suspend license as well. Length of suspension case-specific.

Reckless Driving Causing Bodily Injury, section 23104(a)

Misdemeanor

Incarceration of at least 30 days, but not more than six months with fines ranging from a minimum of $220 to a maximum of $1,000

2

Courts may suspend license automatically. DMV may suspend license as well. Length of suspension case-specific.

Impact on Your Drivers License

Conviction of any reckless driving charge creates the possibility of a presiding judge to suspend or revoke a driver’s license. Often, in light of a high potential of incarceration, long-term suspensions of up to six months or more are issued in lieu of incarceration. The length of the suspension, if ordered by the courts, is at the discretion of the presiding judge. Furthermore, if license action does not occur within the criminal courts, drivers still face administrative license action by the California DMV

I should have mentioned my violation was 30 years ago...I'm willing to bet some laws have changed since then :).

Doesn't the US have those traffic light cameras that snap your license plate then send an automatic fine to you?

some places do, most places (well where i live) got rid of them. but if you go to DC or MD they still have them

This is a thing that happened to a cousin of mine. He disappeared for like 5 of 6 years, didn't call or give any info. Some of us thought he was dead. Then a month ago he calls us, and says it's ok. My other cousin, who's his sister, said that her father wouldn't even open the doors for him after what he did.

So, if you had a son that disappeared for years, didn't call to give news, would you forgive him or not?

What should I wear for my job interview on Friday? I've never been to a job interview before. The place is a breakfast/lunch type restaurant. I don't wanna overdress, but I also definitely don't wanna under dress.
