On the subject of it being overlooked, that is true, but I think it gets decent coverage in an academic context (over here at least, since our History programme has become pretty demanding). Still, there will always be the odd simple-minded redneck. And I see lots of kids who have no idea about anything pre-2000 and actually seem proud of it (the same ones that listen to that pointless, meandering noise that sounds like R2-D2 being castrated and sodomised by a bear).

Not sure where you're getting your info Alien. Care to share where textbooks are omitting black people of note? If anything most HS history classes tend to skip over entire sections of history just to make sure the students are informed for whatever state test they would have to take. I think its a matter of time and lowest-common-denomonator teaching methods rather than some nefarious plot to omit blacks from history. I grew up in the South and we were taught about Booker T Washington, Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, etc...

I assume that because they haven't gotten an answer within the following few posts, they think they or their question has been ignored, thus quoting it to try and bring their question to the attention of any posters who skipped it or didn't answer it originally.

Could be a few reasons. Maybe because every time a member gets banned/busted, people feel the need to constantly ask why it happened over and over again. (Remember when GunWrath was banned and the most asked question was "Why was GunWrath banned?") Or maybe they're too impatient? Perhaps they have the fear that their question will be forgotten?
