It tends to work out in favor of protesters in the long term almost every time. It shows that there are no lines that government isn't willing to cross. But as pointed out above, there can be legitimate reasons. They just tend to be pretty exceptional.

You and Spaghetti Cat make good points, thanks, but as you said, in a long term it would end up being 'good' for the protesters, right? But what if during a protest, 5 people get killed and is not sure who did it, but some clues point at the NG, what would be the reaction of the international community? Has something like I'm describing happened before?

i am not sure, i have seen other sites try to do it, obviously there is no way too fully do it. but it might keep the 10/12/14yrs olds off the site if you just mention age restriction. the mind mentallity of a 10-14yr old is different than a 16yr old.

 

if not, this site might end up like the suburau forums. aka nazi moderater heaven, i swear mods on that site use to be members of the SS in the past life.

I'm fairly sure just mentioning an age restriction is 1000% not keep underage people from joining. Just look at the ESRB ratings. Rated mature games are riddled with kids

I've never experienced this before but there was talk about the hot coffee mod bugging the cellphone from not ringing and as you should get a phone call after that mission (If memory serves me well), that could be the problem you're having. It's likely a mod is the issue for this. If you have any installed especially the hot coffee mod, remove it and try again. I can't remember exactly about that mod but I remember reading somewhere it can bug the cellphone.

 

My question: I'm using a interior car camera mod for GTA SA and it allows me to use the mouse to look around inside. Similar to this mod only the one I'm using I can use the mouse to look around.

 

Anyway, I'm playing the game with a joypad (The PS2 Dual shock 2 pad to be precise). Question is; is there a program or tool of some sort that can allow me to configure the joypad to manipulate the mouse? Exactly as you can with xpadder where the XBox joypad can manipulate the keyboard keys but for a mouse instead. Just so I can use the right analog stick to control the looking around feature of the mod.

Well, used to because I haven't seen any new chapter since 5 years ago. The show might be a complete garbage now.

I was asking for more legal ways, but that seems to be the only option. What the hell, I think I'll spent my weekend trying to catch up

Again, not really sure where your are going with this. I think the closest example I can think of is the Kent State riots in the late 60's or early 70's. My memory is a bit foggy but I believe that several students were shot after a confrontation with the Guard. I believe the Guard members were fired upon, but don't have that info right infant of me.

 

Your example is kinda loose, but at face value I think that the Uniform Code of Military Justice would apply if there was any evidence of wrongdoing. In other words a court martial rather than a civil/criminal trial. One thing to remember is that the Guard would be out in a declared State of Emergency, called by the Governor of whatever state. So it's not like there would be members of the Guard protecting a Wal-Mart on an average weekday for example.

 

The only other example that I can think of in recent times was Katrina. The Governors of several states called in the Guard because of the complete breakdown of civil order. They were called out to prevent looting and re-establish some sort of order after several communities were wiped off the map. Not quite your example, but I believe the Guard had orders to shoot if their orders weren't followed.

I'm thinking of the Santa Cruz Massacre in East Timor, 1991. Indonesian troops opened fire on pro-independence protesters during a demonstration. The soldiers were never captured, but the whole event caused international outrage (and started the whole process for the independence of ET). Bottom line is that over 200 people were killed and the soldiers were never caught.

If I remember correctly, a few years ago all the presenters signed new contracts that would last through 2018. Then again, then Discovery decided to get rid of the build team so not sure how much one can read in to that. But yes, they've been making new episodes for all these years so there must have been quite a few you've missed.

@Spaghetti Cat: I know my example is kind of vague (I actually wrote a long text and accidentally deleted it) so let me explain it, I was trying to think in borh sides, events like the described by Black_iMD and others where the actions of the police or soldiers were justified.

I'm currently writing a personal profile for a job application and I was wondering is it good practice to constantly shower yourself with compliments every 3 words? I've read my friends CVs and they all go something like this: I am a "compliment" and a "compliment" I also am I "compliment" with "compliment" skills. I've gone with the rule show rather than tell am I one the right track?

From time to time yes, but don't go overboard on the compliments.
