How do you alter a YouTube video after it has gone live?

I think you can only add annotations, man. The actual video is immutable, I'm afraid.

There must be some way my dude. Just watched a video that definitely had another intro than yesterday.

Apparently it can be edited, but it will be turned into a whole new video with a new URL :/

I appreciate your will to answer my question, but this issue still bugs me.

There's this video* I've been watching regularly and when I watched it again just an hour ago, it had some sort of intro added. (not a YT ad.)

Date of upload and views remains the same.

*

It's really just the WTFast ad. All new, never seen it before.

Well, that's kind of weird, mate. I've never encountered anything like that...

Youtube offers a video editor that can save over the original video. there is an edit option underneath the video.

How is a Chinese worker's everyday at the factories?

When do they wake up? How nutritious is their food? How many hours do they work; daily? weekly?

How is their salary?

When do they wake up? How nutritious is their food? How many hours do they work; daily? weekly?

How is their salary?

Getting better day by day, but it depends on the individual factories. We, for example, require our factory to adhear to OSHA like standards and require specific pay minimums to ensure a quality life for our workers, but it's not required nationally.

They do get a hell of a lot of vacation days, though.

About the workers at Foxconn, China who builds iPhones and such? Heard they work under slave-like conditions.

Yeah, like I said, different situations per employer. I don't know first hand about how bad it is there, but I've heard the same rumors.

How come charity stores like Goodwill are huge in America (in terms of amount and size generally) whilst in the UK/elsewhere I barely see anything past a corner shop at all? Always struck me as odd.

That, but also Goodwill is tied into the justice system. Many people use it for community service or to pay restitution. So goodwill gets free labor AND a tax write-off. Not too sure how it works across the pond tho...

What town (or decade) are you living in, I can't visit any town or city in Britain without seeing Bookies, Poundland, Greggs and Charity Shops everywhere?

This may be straying into "No man's land" on here but I've always kind of wondered, do the moderators on here get any kind of salary? Or is it simply voluntary?

Okay, I got another question regarding Chinese workers who works under these slave-like conditions.

So, what can possibly be done to give these workers more welfare? What can the companies that get their products made there, do to make the workers life easier? Or is that a job for the politicians around the globe?

They don't want to make the workers' lives easier; it's not really in their interest as business owners. If you look at the industrial Revolution in the West as a guide it starts with workers organizing and eventually getting support from

the government for safety regulations, minimum wage, workers' compensation, etc. I don't see that happening in China anytime soon, though it is possible given the new generation of leadership that we will see some slight changes in safety rewuirements but probably nothing more. A friend of mine works a white collar job importing and exporting cosmetics in Fuijian province and had a cousin who walked off a factory job in a quasi strike with some other workers due to egregious safety concerns and ended up locked up and sentenced to 3 years in jail. They were able to get him out through CCP connections but if you mess with the economic system there, expect consequences.

Neither. We are a collection of heuristic programs. Our creator was paid originally but they were disposed of left to do other things shortly after we were activated. There's no voluntary or salaried response in any of us, we're just doing this because we were put into a position where doing this was what we were to do.

Single party state of 'communism',

The corruption in all branches of government and justice system;

..which makes the elite and well connected people untouchable,

and the massive manpower,

- makes everything possible and more. Companies outsource and decide to manufacture in China because 1) infinite manpower and cheap salary, and 2) ease of bribing officials for anything unpleasant that may arise

So in theory, no corporation or entity that decides to start something in China, actually care about the welfare of the workers.

Not all, however. There is a severe crackdown on corruption and upgrading of the welfare and workers rights systems.

Nobody can actually understand for real what the CPC is thinking..

Sorry, semen is the one and only way.

Honestly, very little. Either consumers would have to, en masse, accept higher priced goods, allowing the extra money go to the workers welfare in various ways, or the companies would have to be willing to take a massive cut in their profits to provide for the workers. Neither of these things will happen, so unless the Chinese Government begins to regulate the workers, and in the process jack up prices and weaken their economy (while strengthening the worlds as industry and manufacturing will begin a return to the 50's era of good paying domestic jobs).

It's totally hopeless... it's in the interests of the minority, the rich and powerful, to maintain the status quo, i.e. the current conditions of the Chinese workers.

The Chinese workers love it. Don't know what everyone's talking about. They make fun stuff like children's toys or electronic goods, and play with these products whilst they work. When they're assembling the iphones they often have a little break to play Angry Birds or update their twitter status "Just made a Ninja Turtles toy, gonna make it do some flips n sh*t. #Michelangelo #Lifeisfun #Can'tbelievetheypaymeforthissh*t

It's western workers you should feel sorry for. They have to make boring things like boilers, tumble dryers, and copper pipes.

This guy knows what he's talking about. They love slave work. Even railroad workers there look happy as hell.

Some even take it further:

So, what can possibly be done to give these workers more welfare?

The amassing of a strong, militant labor movement capable of seizing the means of production, and confronting the forces of the state.

What can the companies that get their products made there, do to make the workers life easier?

Get their sh*t expropriated and put to common use.

Or is that a job for the politicians around the globe?

Funny joke, guy.

Bro don't generalise a group of people like that. It's not on, I'm not having it.

No but srsly everyone here is actually scum. I'm not even kidding. You think I'm bad, but, I mean I'm easily in the upper 95th percentile of least scummy people in Hull, possibly even the top 98th percentile. Just think how bad I am, and then realise I'm seen as like a posh aristocrat with ridiculously liberal progressive views by most people here.
