I hear Coin knows how to make coffee...the old fashioned way.

As far as those k cup dealies...remember just a few years ago when the population seemed to be concerned about the planet? You know - recycle, bring your own canvas bag to the store, reuse, re-purpose, compost, etc, etc.

K cups seemed to have brought back a resurgence in the "easy to use and throw away" mentality.

Not to mention from what I recall, that they can be difficult to recycle. From what I remember, they have an aluminium shell, often a plastic lid, and a paper filter to keep the coffee grounds in place.

I suspect humans won't genuinely give a crap about the planet til something major happens which bites us in the ass. ;)

I don't give a crap about the planet* - I don't have any kids I need to worry about living in it when I'm gone. It just really grinds my gears when people don't hold to what they claim to be serious convictions. Don't f*cking pretend to care about the planet one year because its hip. Don't get all into it by buying into the marking of it. Don't make it so your neighbors think you care about the planet. Go "Green"!!!??? f*ck you!!! Now you are a lazy ass with a trash can full of k cups.

*actually I do care

Your options with a fat back tv (realistically) are:

Donate it to good will

sell it in a yard sale

sell it at a flea market

dump it

destroy it then dump it

blow it up with explosives

let it sit in a room gathering dust

sit it on your front lawn and (hope) someone takes it

I'll add one more potion. Sell it to a scrap metal business.

another option- rip the guts out of it and make one of those tv fish tanks

It's not like recycling actually helps. The only real impact we're making on the planet is with fossil fuels. The only recycling that affects that slightly is aluminum cans, and even that is a drop in the bucket.

Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

What about recycling rare earth metals from electronic devices and the like? I know we're not really on a course to run out of them any time soon, but thanks to low production outside of China and their repeated attempts to limit foreign access to them to preserve their own domestic manufacturing industry...

It is a good looking hate, but the band might be a bit too much for a first time hate wearer. I might suggest a more graceful transition into hate-dom with a less flashy hate. Also remember that black hates are for villains. Is that felt? If so, what type of felt and how many X's is it? Looks like three creases, sort of an outback version of a cattleman's maybe.

I think I have to scrap this hate purchase. I have heard that the horse I ride daily, is high, although upon questioning my faithful stead it denied that it had been taking substances. As much as I would like a villain hate, I feel I must find one that would be more suitable to riding a horse that may or may not be getting high when I'm not around.

It is not so much about how bad the Yardies were in comparison, it is the fact that several other gangs have done things that are rightfully susceptible to punishment.

No.

Does anybody here have one of those One Cup K-Cup machines?

Are they worth is or do the K-Cups get expensive over time?

I have one but I don't use it very often. About as often, I would say, as I post a question here then edit my post to ask a different question instead.

I just put the coffee beans in a mug and stare at it intensely for a few hours.

Have you ever asked a questions on here and forgot about it?

All the time.

Compelling evidence you have there, you've really proved me wrong this time

Is there any way to hide particular subforums from view on the main page?

Sure, it's useful. But it has nothing to do with the environment.

Edit: Looking back at my earlier statement, it was somewhat ambiguous. I did mean specifically helping reduce impact on evironment, since that was the topic. Economically, there are a few recycling programs that help. Again, aluminum is probably the biggest one, due to volume and cost, but a number of other metals as well.

Heresy everyone! My colleague has an adult axolotl that he is letting go of in a lake. Will it survive and if so, what will it survive on? He lives in Sydney. Thx

Plastic pollution is a pretty big deal w/r/t habitats and wildlife, which leads back to an adverse effect on ecosystems in general. Not to mention the damage of contamination from chemical runoff on plastic that is degrading in the ocean or on a beach somewhere, which can have a direct influence on humans if its abundant enough in the water supplies we use. There's also the issue of biodegradable plastics releasing methane which directly affects the atmosphere and adds to the overall climate change issue that's going on thanks to our abundant use of fossil fuels. The issue with all of this is of course that plastic isn't exactly going anywhere thanks to how durable it is by design.

Insofar as humans are concerned, there's also the rather startling issue of water pollution thanks to how irresponsible we are with the small amount of fresh water on this planet that we actually have. The planet itself won't be spurned by our lack of foresight, but there are many more kinds of pollution that will directly impact human populations in the coming years than just fossil fuel use.

EDIT: although I do of course agree with you, somewhat. Recycling alone will not stem this kind of issue. We need to have a society-wide acknowledgement of the finite nature of our planet's resources and the elasticity of our environment in regards to how we treat it. That's going to go way beyond recycling, and it will take way more than just recycling to stop harmful pollution of the planet.

What part of that is heresy?

Do you oppose the belief that the animal would be better off in the wild?

Properly constructed landfills, with methane-burning facilities, are a better and cheaper solution than recycling. They also address similar issues with everything we don't recycle. Because water pollution and methane production are a very big problem with ordinary waste. Don't you think addressing both of these with a proper landfill is money better spent? And we do spend, nay, waste, a lot of money on recycling programs.

Proper waste management is an important step considering the amount of waste given off by the average household, but I don't think it's the end. Overall, the issues surrounding pollution go beyond just the emissions and waste, and are more based on theoretically sound but long-term harmful waste, in general. Mostly things that are very simple like the energy spent working on food production that ends up being useless once the object in question spoils. But, at that point, I am trailing off of the original pollution button that this started with.

If this question is answered, will you come back to check and see if it was answered?

When exactly was the "like" system implemented on this forum?

It was around the time that GTAV released in Sept. 2013

About how much would a 20something inch TV I used only about two times get me if I try to sell it at a pawn shop?

maybe $50 or less depending on the store's demand for them

if its one of those fat back tv's, fugget about it

f*ck, because I have a room with literally four of them not being used.

blow it up with explosives

For a CRT TV I would honestly, not joking, just do the above (maybe, more realistically shoot it with those guns I hate so much). So much more fun that whatever amount of money you could get for em.

Please don't ask about this type of thing. It's embarrassing and offensive for me... you understand those are the worst of my society, right? Like judging all Americans by George W. Bush...

Yeah, G.W. wasn't really one of the "worst of the Americans" as awful as he was.

We disagree on this one.

How come the Yardies aren't in the OCA anymore?

They had naked pictures of me at a Rocky Horror theme night that they didn't want to share, I insisted that they share them for everybody to see, but since they didn't want to they were kicked.

How do you alter a YouTube video after it has gone live?

I think you can only add annotations, man. The actual video is immutable, I'm afraid.
