Is okay for me to believe in evolution but at the same time doubt or question the big bang theory?

Yeah ; belief in one doesn't require belief in the other. Everyone can doubt the big bang theory because it's just that ; a theory. It cannot be proven, and as such everyone is well within their rights to doubt/question it.

Yes. Evolution is factual and well documented, while the Big Bang theory still raises questions and prompts other scientists (like Stephen Hawking) to propose alternative explanations for the inception of the universe.

Everyone can doubt the big bang theory because it's just that ; a theory."But that's just a theory. THE BIG BANG THEORY." But yeah. You can believe in one, and not the other. Kinda like me. Edited by Potato_Smuggler

Spaghetti Cat

I question the Big Bang theory all the time. Like, why are they laughing this isn't even funny. And, how long has this been on the air?

It is good to question the Big Bang theory, that's half of what science is all about.

But the other half of science is evidence, and it is arguably wrong to doubt the Big Bang without using evidence against it. Most evidence, such as the red-shifting of surrounding galaxies and the homogeneity of the Cosmic microwave background, points towards the Big Bang being the correct answer.

You are welcome to doubt and disprove anything in life as long as you have the proper reason and evidence to do so.

Edit: Spaghetti Cat nailed it.

There's no belief involved in the Theory of Evolution, man. It's a well documented fact. The word 'theory' has a totally different meaning in scientific terminology than the one we ascribe to it in casual conversation. But you're right about the Big Bang theory not being absolutely foolproof, which a lot of scientists agree on (some have even developed new explanations). However, most evidence does point to it being correct.

Gravity is also a "theory", do you doubt that though?

This is of course not mentioning Newton's law of Universal Gravitation.

It's not "does this work?" because it obviously does, we aren't floating away.

It's more "why does this work the way it does?"

Theories and laws are fun.

You say that there's no belief involved in Evolution, and I'd love to agree with you, but look at Ken Ham.....

Why would you even consider bringing such a ridiculous jackass into this discussion?

I don't need to believe in gravity, but that's not to say I'm not going to look like a complete lunatic claiming it doesn't exist.

I feel you may have misinterpreted this guys comment.

I believe in evolution and I know that there are people that believe in god and also believe in the big bang theory. I'm not sure if I believe in evolution, but then again I don't really for the why or how the universe came to be, I'd rather focus on the now pertaining to the that subject area.

That's not what the definition of a scientific theory is. The layman use of "theory" has really bastardized the term, but the scientific use of the word "theory" does not at all mean that it's just something that can't be proven. Quite the opposite, really.

I'm not a fan of that show myself. I was a cool nerd before it was cool.

There's more proof of evolution then the big bang theory IMO. Something on going is easier to understand then something that happened before time. I dunno...

How in the world did THIS get pass so many people at the Play Doh place?

If its a defect, there's millions upon millions made and its virtually impossible to find every single defective part if something is made at such a large scale, especially if you have people checking for defective parts

If its not a defect, someone did not take a second look at that when designing it :p

Might explain why a few teenage girls bought some of those.

It'd be nice if people just left the ED page alone or used it to write down actual drama instead of going "so and so is a dumb sh*t sprinkling homoface durrr"

Rip off or just mere coincidence?

Dunno, but I'm 99% sure they have the same voice actor.

You're.. actually right. Kind of. Kai Leng and Nightwing (only from I:GAU) were voiced by Troy Baker.

To be honest, while I recognize that Play-Doh shoulda thought twice about it; if anyone is seriously offended or put off by the device, they've got larger issues.

Larger issues, or a smaller penis.

What's makes it hilarious was the fact that it is used to dispense frosting. That's too much too handle.

Pretty much, the whole reason sex toys are called toys is because they look like toys (as opposed to the other way around).
