adding to what murdoc already said, i'd also say to check it's the right size/style for what you want. also, watch out for some of the cheaper bindings because they can end your funtimes

Anyone else dealing with a shortage of .22lr ammunition in their area? It's very difficult to find some in my area, and if you do manage to find some it's being sold at a jacked up price.

It's plentiful where I am and not much more expensive than it has been recently, though the prices have gone up slightly.

 

I could see it having something to do with a factory or distributor causing problems with availability or pricing.

Copyright means you have the RIGHT to COPY a piece of art. Modern copyright originates from the advent of the printing press, where certain presses were given the right to copy a book or piece of writing. Today it extends to copying intellectual property, like songs and the Eiffel Tower at night. Since you are copying the image with your camera and do not have the right to do so, you are breaching copyright. I imagine that taking the actual picture is not illegal, much like owning an mp3 is not illegal, but publishing it is, whether or not that be via an internet forum.

 

It's pretty unlikely that given the amount of pictures of the Eiffel Tower at night that any prosecution will occur, but this is a small/mid-size gaming forum that can't risk the adsense loss.

 

I hope this reply wasn't too faux intellectual or using of too many big words for some people. I will also try not to catch any STDs.

It's a bit of both, to be honest. And it is an absurd law, one that probably wouldn't stand to a serious challenge in courts, but I think we'd all rather GTAF not be involved in that in any way. Bigger places comply because they don't want legal trouble.

 

More importantly, if someone makes a post saying, "Hey, guys, this is illegal now," making a post just to spite the law, however silly, earns you a warning point.

 

The "in humor" part was me going through every post and giving a dry, formal reminder with a straight face. Not everyone thought it was funny.

You'd have to dig through French copyright law for that. I'm guessing, you aren't supposed to take a picture in the first place without permission. And there might be a blanket permission given by copyright holder saying you can take picture for private use. Then if you publish it anywhere, you are violating that agreement, and consequently, the copyright.
