There is no "drive" on manual cars. If in neutral you can release all the pedals and nothing will happen. To get the car moving you need to slowly lift off the clutch until you can feel it engaging, the car wanting to move. If on a flat surface this will be enough to get the car moving, if on an incline you have the balance the clutch and gas at the same time. As long as the car is in gear it has to be moving or it will stall, if you need to stop you have to press down on the clutch as well, or put it back into neutral, but at least my driving teacher frowned upon that because you lose the ability to engine brake if you do so.

Frowned upon what? Puting into neutral makes you loose the brake?

She didn't like me pressing the clutch pedal when coming up to a turn because you lose the engine braking since you disengage the engine from the gearbox when pressing the clutch. She wanted me to shift down as early as possible and use the engine brake plus the normal brakes because that would be more effective in getting the speed down than the normal brakes alone, at least that's how I understood her.

I'm looking for a Driver or Fairway to shoot golf balls with. I'm not a 'golfer' and I'm not looking to shell out a lot of money for one. I m starting work on an a paper advocating for the repeal of the death penalty nationwide for my English class, but I recently found out that my professor wants me to put a new spin on it. I feel like this topic has been done to death and pretty much all of the bases have been covered (race, cost, innocence, etc.) and I can t for the life of me find anything meaningful or new to add to this conversation.

In what way can I give a new spin on the case against the death penalty?

I very much appreciate the suggestion, but I do not think my professor would like that. I am trying to come up with something that's realistic, I just do not see how it would be possible to tax those who are pro-death penalty because they obviously would not make themselves known.

One should use the gears to slow down the car, to ease stress on the actual brakes. Also, if you use the handbrake when hill-starting, you're an amateur who should get more familiar with the car in question
