Never really cared for GTA Online, it's been the only way for me to play with any new vehicles since, like, the Low Rider update though. 

On topic I hope there are few new songs that aren't completely obscure

what if it doesnt come out till august, or it dont come out till the 31st, because i found out theres 2 more bodysuits, so we will probably get one next week, and then on 31st either a bodysuit and no dlc, or a bodysuit and a dlc

But it is true... Sounds like you don't know anything about coding. Even R*F* said that they "don't mess with the old code" or everything would fall apart. Thats why for example we don't have Pegasus Customs, we have to bring old Pegasus vehicles and turn them in to something new. In a way thats a workaround to avoid problems with the old Pegasus system. 

Every time you try to change something old it gives you new unexpected bugs.

By the way, what I do for a living is work on a very old and complicated piece of software which has many of the same problems.  I don't really even say this as some damning indictment - it's just a description.  A project as ambitious and complex as GTA Online with many, many developers working on it over a period of a number of years is naturally going to become a mess, even if it didn't start out as one.  That's just unavoidable.  The best you can hope for is that the current crop of developers are smart enough not to mess too much with old, shared code when they're adding new features, and are able to generate competent Band-Aids for the problems that arise.

The problem you two have failed to see is how new content works. Disregarding engine tweaks since that's essentially all intertwined, the main script files (.*sc files) are used to store missions and other sifted coded data. When a new update comes out with a new business, new scripts are created for the business and they're housed in their own corresponding script files. The only script that could possible be changed prior for them is how they're executed, such as through the interaction menu or another ancient platform.

 

Yes, when old assets get modified there is a higher chance for something to break, but the new scripts are rarely chained to another system, as they run independently and should have bugs (if there are any) contained specifically to them. For example, you're not going to see the special cargo business have bugs because biker businesses have something wrong with them. That's not not possible, unless they triggered something in memory that broke a function that is used in more than one system.

 

The game is designed so that way new content can be added and developed with ease (given you havrbthe proper tools for it). If this weren't the case, DLC packages would take even longer and could potentially have more issues than they already do.

 

I know this because I've worked on these formats, and I've spent hours researching how this game works under the hood. I make money off of doing my research. Not everything is universal.

 

Yes, old code breaks when tampered with, but rarely does new code break old code. And Piro, don't argue with someone who actually works on the game, lol. It doesn't make you look very intelligent when you try to talk down to someone when you don't know what you're saying.

No. People usually bitch about GTAO on social media buts its intensified. All of the people who dont lurk the forums but play this game are bitching "where tf is the update" on social media. They need to release the crap soon. I can see it now. The expectations are rising, as they always do when you tease and make people wait, and if they dont deliver. 😂 It's gonna be a sh*t show when it does launch and isnt up to par.

You are not thinking about this very clearly.

 

Lots of systems in this game affect the behavior of old systems.  Just to name a generous handful of the most obvious examples: there are numerous things in this game that will remove your wanted level if you have one, and stop you from getting a wanted level for the duration of some event (or will give you a forced wanted level for the duration also).  There are numerous things that will make it so you no longer have to pay insurance or get bad sport warnings when blowing up PVs.  There are numerous things that take you off radar, or put you back on.  There are numerous things that disable certain phone abilities and interaction menu options (off-radar, ghost org, removing wanted level via Lester, and others) from working.  There are things that stop you from accepting phone invites (some in fact clear phone invites so you can't even see them, and then the invites have to pop back in when you're done).  There are free roam jobs that disable some icons and notifications (e.g. if you start a bunker sale or VIP work or whatever, you no longer see icons or notifications for someone selling an I/E car), which then have to be re-activated when your job is over.  Things that stop passive from working, and things (time trials) that put you in a forced passive state.  Cooldowns with different triggers that overlap and affect each other (explaining why still to this day you can get in a cycle of running VIP work literally non-stop as long as you pick the right jobs and do them in a certain amount of time, thus preventing any other player from ever starting one of their own).  Things that spawn or despawn your vehicles automatically, and things that have to be aware of whether you've already spawned certain types of vehicles so you don't overload the map with your toys.  On and on and on.

 

All of this stuff is related because they are constantly setting all these flags and calling all these procedures that set those flags, so that the game behaves the way it's supposed to.  Many of the game's bugs - including many of its dupe glitches, god mode glitches, permanent off-radar glitches, the free roam glitch where off-radar is broken for all players, and so forth - are a result of QA not testing and catching the way all of these connected systems can sometimes overlap and cause problems for each other.  The posts on that notorious modding/glitching forum, if you go backward through time and skim them, is a documented history of people figuring out how a new feature breaks an old feature and using that to copy their car, give their car to a friend, or make themselves invincible or invisible.

 

I don't care how much more insight than me you might have into the nuts-and-bolts of how GTA works, which I agree you probably do.  But I am telling you as a sometimes-programmer and a rational person - and a guy who has done a good eight or ten dupe glitches - that parts of this game are a very complicated mess; if they aren't, then Rockstar hires very bad programmers.  I would prefer to believe that their jobs are difficult than that they are a bunch of intern-level f*ck-ups face-planting their way through basic coding. 

 

And I seriously doubt that any developer who worked on this game *professionally* would say otherwise, at least if he was behind closed doors and you plied him with a drink or three.

I agree that adding new shirts or new cars is not a huge deal for them, that stuff is basically just getting plugged into an ever-expanding list - but the playable content and new free roam features,that stuff is all madness and overlaps very dangerously sometimes.  I refuse to believe otherwise.

The 100k is a slap to the face to every grinder that has legit played the right way without cheating. Here how they get rewarded an old collection of ugly ass gimps suits and a 100k that's easily spent on a damn license plate lol

There's really nothing getting through ya isn't. I'm guessing you're not understanding anything at all. 100k is really a slap to the face. Considering how expensive everything is 100k won't even buy you a tron suit. That 100k is easily gone by blowing a tryhard trollmobile. Refilling ammo buying crates etc. Obviously this whole white knight mentality of yours keeps on showing your ignorance on the whole shoddy practices at bay that rockstar gets away from.

 

Only on gta there's 40k masks 50k pair of christmas socks and a damn flashlight cost more than a rusted rebel and a faggio bike. 

 

You know why is that? Because there's players like you who support these shoddy businesses and think is okay for take two to gauge their player base as much as they have with ridiculous prices.

I think they were meant for dripfeed content or event weeks like these. Just like any unreleased clothing item or livery, probably will be in event weeks someday.

So left over content. 

 

I defintely do think after this year ends, is when we will see a decrease in updates, and they will have moved on, occasionally giving us the weekly, reused, rehashed AM’s, double XP and $$, etc etc until they shut the servers down.

Nah. They may slow down a bit, but as far as completely stopping with new content, I doubt they will until GTA VI. They make too much money to stop. Especially since RDR2 most likely won't make as much as GTA Online does.

I'm guessing we'll see some more cars and air crafts being added to the game before they turn the game into a 2x$ RP every week till servers are closed. As far a huge updates goes in my on personal opinion these two might be one of the final ones.
