I've never heard of these until now as well. I took some time out to listen to their music and considering this DLC is to be in comparison to TBoGT, these DJs aren't that good IMO. Not compared to classic tunes in GTA IV EFLC. In addition, there are a lot more higher mainstream EDM DJs out there that the consumers can relate to. Why not them?

The Chainsmokers

Avicii (If allowed)

Calvin Harris

Skillrex lol

Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso

Hell bring back Eric Prydz

These are at least known and relatible in some media exposure to the audience

With all the talk of cost, thought I'd just mention with all upgrades and garages. My office cost $4m basic, but to get it fully loaded (Over time), it was £13.5m total.

I think this nightclub with the storage etc all in will cost as much as an office. The office turned out to be the main hub for 2 businesses and 60 vehicles. This certainly feels as big in this regard, especially with business consolidation.

Might be a cheaper club, and to leave it simple, probably no more than $2-3m. I do feel we've had so many 2x periods on businesses, heists, missions, races, and even a 3x on an Adv. Mode. I do expect to see the average costs raise a tad. (instead of $1.2, probable more like $2m or so).

But the costs of trying to get these people into a game, let alone one that's already 5 years old, wouldn't be worth it. The costs would be astronomical.

As a long time fan of house music, half of the people you mention are repulsive in my opinion but seems like it will get the "main demographics" connected. I've given up with the human race with those "This music sucks I won't be playing GTA Online unless they have clubs with rock n roll mcdonalds or mumble takeshi 69 gucci gang rap"

Marshmello with his short attention span melodies and The Chainsmokers and their 60 songs with their repetitive 3 chords because corporate said so...

I wouldn't be surprised if those guys on Youtube that spams every Solomun song be like "OMG I LIEK THIS SONG!!! LIEK MY COMMENT IF G. .T. A. FIVE. ONLINE BROUGHT U HERE!!!!!!!!11111111111111" are the ones talking sh*t about this update prior its release.

If 500 million equates to a life line of 10 years for Destiny and Activision. I'm sure 1 billion in 3 days + Sales and Shark cards would afford actual decent songs over 5 years. Why bother half assing this DLC when it's going to be compared to TBoGT and even familiar songs in general across GTA. The main thing to nightclubs will be the music. There's Alan Walker too, regularly does NCS (free) in general. And I reckon he's cheaper than many with relatable tunes.

That's fine and I enjoy only a select list from each artist but the point I was getting is the demographics as you said. Then when comparing the songs to EFLC, it#s like WTF. More money in, no shown investment.

Those artists (excluding Avicii) would see that from a promotional view, not an experience, yes Prydz and Guetta have had their music in GTA before, but most of the new artists added to After Hours aren't mainstream and that whats makes it unique. If they're going to use tracks or artists that are played everywhere, it'd become stale quickly.

Thats what I think anyway.

Exactly.

"And now beginning 2018, Calvin has renewed his Las Vegas residency with Hakkasan Group.

The luxury entertainment group has extended Calvin’s Omnia Nightclub residency through 2020 with the GRAND price of £200 million, which equates to approximately $280 million USD. For each night that Calvin performs, he will earn roughly $1 million!"

http://www.krbe.com/2018/01/30/calvin-harris-extends-280-million-vegas-residency-contract-through-2020/

Even R* can't afford to get someone like that in a game.

Never been one to cheat, even though it'd make life easier. I enjoy working my way up to buying cars. I'm probably one of the few that doesn't mind the grind when the incentive is there.

Though, I'd have taken an unknown artist mixing up tracks from these artists of course, lol. And new music is always worth a try, IMO. Just this far in, and with what we've learned with GTA, I'd not be surprised if theses artists coming were free even. (I don't know much yet as to how known they are before this came up, lol). The music in GTA has a cult following at least over the years, so to upcoming DJ's, (More-so if they are fans playing prior too), the artists might be 'the best of who's free' and they want to do it as fans too. They'll be getting more popular over this, hopefully. And the Pete Tong rub won't hurt prospects, lol.

If these artist get over big time and this launched them in any way, or they become loved in GTA and the money all round proves awesome for all (Not so much the DJ's earning off this, but could see bookings grow of course). Could be great for the future to attract better known artists/groups once bigger names see the success, if it is. I believe me won't touch GTA because of it's controversial game at times, but this could open that door wider.

Course, there are other, scarier alternatives. A mega name wants in and starts demanding things too.

*RE: Your following post. I don't disagree the money is there, and that using more known artists could equally, easily more-so, appeal too. And of course, the options R* has with regard to the pool of lesser known artists too, or soundtrack artists/silent mixers etc. Must be huge.

If this works. I can see more. Including Bikers II (Live bands and run down bars, basically). I just hope the new gameplay is great, balance is bettered, and thar=t garage is huge, lol.

Good News Everyone! I have the day off work.

Bad News Everyone! I need to go in for a few hours in the morning to sort some stuff out so I cant play until the afternoon. :( Is it worth it to just ignore this place until U get on? When does the moaning and bitching start? I really dont want my boner getting killed by naysayers.

Obviously not all them but a select few, even the cheapest. The great thing across GTAs was the classic tunes for the eras and/or station outside the era (Flashback for example). Nothing wrong with having nobody heard of songs and DJs too but solely having uneventful non mainstream tunes to relate to. If GTA across the board never used classic famous tunes and in especially EFLC Maisonette 9, then this probably wouldn't be an issue but from my perspective as a consumer. The music has downgraded a lot lol.

I feel the game has a good base. It's not helped by being near 5 years of course. But to see them trying new things on a platform like this, makes sense IMO. I'm more looking to RDR2 and GTA beyond to really learn the impact. Just looking at GTA IV, they recently removed songs from the game just because licences ran out and they didn't want to renew them. (And the way things are implemented here, including the many unfixed errors, and the RDR2 nugget where 'all hands for 8 years made this').

They ain't spending a dime more on this except just enough to see the game hold up and attract money. And probably see the game is so popular that they don't need a big name to draw. Everything they've earned this last quarter say, it's just bonus cash on a dead end. I even feel RDR2 was held back because of this games financial success. And equally believe RDR2 has a deeper story mode because it went into production before R* had their eyes opened over how recurring spending here can pay of so well. In so many ways, they struck oil.

I'm stoked for this. But don't expect too much. I have many mixed feelings/concerns over my gaming style being pushed away more and more in future or the franchise gets taken in a direction I just don't enjoy - We'll see, but I'm hopeful I'll be loving my GTA in years to come. (Teething problems on a beta test, lol. That's how I'm looking at this now. of course, a cash cow too).

So much potential here in GTA, but it can go either way, lol.

You are running an underground club as a front for your illegal underground business and you want Calvin Harris? Lol

I have always felt GTA lacked a decent house station, so these djs and the music they play is great. Not to mention some of them would actually make good characters. They should have added Seth Troxler for some real throwback craziness

I mean how much mainstream music does GTA already have? Not much and it’s doing fine.

PS that list is terrible 🙂

I've never liked the songs in GTA V, I know none of them at all. Every other GTA, I've at least known a few and liked the others. GTAV just seems to focus on skimping cash for music now. And we see that in GTA IV as you said, they skimped out on cash while asking for more in the other hand. Yet 3D Era GTA's don't seem to get this issue. Other than Lionel Richie of course.

Buy a 2M GTA$ empty warehouse and make it into a club one 500K GTA$ upgrade after the next? While you grind delivery CEO/MC/Gunrunner/I/E missions until your eyes bleed?  Because you need to relieve your boner from lusting after that 4M GTA$ Burning Man rave party bus with the eardrum splitting bass on the roof?

1E+06 GTAO Ho fan boi's are turning tricks for cash flow on R* servers right now. All the way up to next Tuesday. Legit grind or modded or by any other means necessary.

Looks like several cameo SP NPC characters (besides Gay Tony) have been given a superior cosmetic (and possibly AI) make over. Looks like R* has finally evolved SP as an extension of GTAO, and not the other way around. Seems they have chucked SP under the online bus for good....

Wonder how fast it's going to take them to do this with RDR2? 😕

And in twenties

All I can think of at the moment is

Give it to me baby

Skeletons

Still DRE lol

Gin and Juice

If you leave me now

Lady

The soundtrack still has nothing on VC SA and EFLC IMO

Blu Ark is sh*t reggae music. Totally disappointed in that.
