A Sturgis in San Andres?!?!

   Since GTAV was released on old 360, I have road or ran with crews that have been MC based. Now, we have all the things that were missing to have a true MC, biggest thing was a club house...now, there is one more thing I would love to see. Not just in one lobby, but see there are several lobbies participating. Of course, we still lack the ability in the creator to just create an event such as a peaceful biker rally. Turn the center of down town Los Santos, San Andres into Sturgis for a whole weekend. Several lobbies hosted by several clubs, no weapons, it be made a requirement you have to enter passive mode apon spawning and remain in passive mode while in the lobby. Granted we wouldn't be able to get hundreds of bikes into one lobby, but several full lobbies of mixed clubs, meeting new people, making new bonds between clubs. Then set it up so that it happens the same weekend on an annual thing. I personally think it would be an awesome thing.

I don't see a way to make it work, though.

 

 

UNLESS...

 

 

...you make a non-contact, point-to-point race from somewhere up in the hills into the location of the meet. Just like the 'runs' a lot of these events have in real life. 

 

Non-contact means no weapons or collisions, so that's taken care of. 

 

If you can get people to agree not to cross the finish line, you can all stop nearby and check out each other's rides. 

 

 

 

But nobody would be able to dismount their bikes, and all players would appear semi-invisible. 

 

 

 

Or make it a GTA point-to-point race, so players could ride to the event and dismount anywhere they like, again with the agreement that no-one crosses the finish line. 

 

 

 

But people might draw weapons. And everything other than Ammu-Nation would be closed. 

 

 

 

In either case, both ideas rely on all participants agreeing not to cross the finish line until the meet is over, and that seems unlikely.

 

 

 

UNLESS...

 

 

...you make it a really long distance, perhaps with several checkpoints, from the meet to the finish. 

 

Have the meet take place near the starting line, maybe (before weapons are enabled), and those who want to chill can do so, while those who want to race can just continue. The countdown to finish the race and hand out DNFs shouldn't start until after the third (or so) player crosses the finish, right?

 

 

 

OR...

 

 

...you set up an almost-impossible wall-ride or such near the end (you'll have to be able to complete it when you test it in Creator, however). Those bent on completing the race will provide a stunt show for the rest who just want to hang out (again, until enough of them complete it that it triggers the countdown timer). 

 

 

 

 

All these ideas seem fairly cumbersome. The best way would probably be to set up an invite-only session and announce it on the Find Lobbies and Players board. 

 

Unfortunately, that takes away some of the randomness of meeting cool strangers at a bike rally, but I think gaming technology might not yet be at the point where it can facilitate what you have in mind. 

 

 

...Which is a shame, because it's such a cool idea.

If rockstar can let us create all the things they all ready do, host private lobbies and all that such stuff, there is no reason they couldn't set it up for us to create an event hosting car shows or bike rallys with weapons disabled period.

That are also possible if they would just do it. I ran all my ideas past a buddy of mine that does coding for game developers. He said every last one of my ideas is possible, it's just all up to rockstar to do the coding for it. He even offered to do alot of the base coding and then let rockstar add the server engine coding so it would work.
