As the title states, a more refined control system for consoles. No more heavy controls. Let’s stop smashing LT auto aim every few seconds. This lock-on bs leads to dodge roll meta has gotten old.

maybe a peek system on the thumb sticks as an option, so we don’t have to turn our backs to cover gears of war style.

I know pc’s can fine tune but I think the cover and aiming system as a whole feels outdated

Love rockstar games, just adding some input<——1.2ms pun intended

Regarding dead zone, GTA V does have a setting to reduce that I think completely but I might be wrong. It's basically a requirement to play FPS mode.

dead zone can be turn off in GTA. but yeah auto aim should go and aim acceleration is a personal preference.

auto aim should be gone completely at least in multiplayer.

Auto shouldn't go bit it should be way more soft. Like uncharted.

Years later, we got that thing. Sure wasn't there from the beginning.

You're sure about that? It could be, I really can't remember for 100%, I thought they implemented that when they introduced FP? I could be wrong, of course. I'm known to be, more often than not.

When I first bought GTA V at September 17th the first thing I did once I got control of Franklin was that I went to settings to set up everything the way it suited me the best. I remember I messed with the aim settings to find out which one is the best for me. Dead zone was there. I could be wrong but still I'm 80 percent sure it was.

I really can't remember, but like you I'm pretty sure it came later. 😛

Doesn't matter, as long as it's in RDRII too, it'll be alright.

The deadzone setting came with GTA V NG I believe, because of the FPS mode cause GTA's typical deadzone in FPS is basically unplayable.

Uncharted doesn't have soft lock. it has aim assist but that's a completely different thing and GTA V doesn't even have aim assist.

Been replaying RDR, and really the auto aim is perfect in that game for me. Hope it is similar in RDR2.

Why would you want to spend the time and money to play a game using auto-aim?

I guess it's nice to be able to play and make a sandwich at the same time but may as well watch it on Youtube.

Because every GTA game for the last 20 years has been default auto aim. RDR is default auto aim. It's what I am used to and it's what I like.

On Consoles*

I know people enjoy playing on auto aim but other third person shooters have better shooting mechanics and simply requires learning it.

Max Payne came out the same year as GTA III and the shooting control scheme was way ahead of it's time.

Actually scratch that even red dead revolver has good shooting mechanics compared to other third shooters in 2004 no auto aim to be found.

Regardless of your tastes, I hope this red dead gives hosts the ability to disable auto aim in job lobbies like GTA IV.

Probably because neither one of them were originally Rockstar games.

Although I agree about the lobby options, I bet it's going to be very similar to GTAO, either freeaim or autoaim worlds, no custom lobbies.

The best shooting mechanics I've seen in a 3rd person are from max payne 3 .

This is one of the biggest things we still need to know in addition to the physics.  The shooting in Rockstar games is stuck in last gen.
