No single player DLC is unbelievable.

I wish to see Benecio Deltoro star in a GTA game for a role that fits him perfectly. Vice City will be a great game to include him and his voice as a solo protagonist of the game.

That's actually not a bad idea!

All i want is the vehicles and weapons that have been released post Ill Gotten Gains Part 2 to be released for Single Player as well. Especially if you currently don't have Gold/ Plus and thus content you currently can't use (since you can't access GTA Online) takes up valuable harddrive space.

Rockstar knows that won't make a profit and they won't be able to sell you something possibly infinite amount of times. If you have the disposable income you buy 60 Bennys cars, fully mod them and replace them with other cars rinse and repeat. Whearas in Single player they can only charge you once for content that you keep forever if they released these in a paid DLC pack. Rockstar are focused on Online only from now on in games going forward. Why else would they delay RDR2 except to cut content from single player, add it to Red Dead Online, maybe fix a few bugs here and there and work on designing RDO to avoid loot box laws.

I can't believe THIS is the first post I come back to and reply to after being gone from the forum for so long lol. But every time this comes up, there's something in the back of my mind that I can't shake. I remember very clearly a comment being made by Dan Houser at some point in the past - possibly even before GTA V released but I'm not sure - where he said that the EFLC DLC from GTA IV sold very poorly, and that its weak performance might alter the company's plans going forward in terms of single player content.

I can NOT provide a source and I have no clue where I read it, but I am certain that I did. If anyone has actually seen it as well, please speak up so I don't think I'm crazy lol. For the record, I wanted single player DLC as much as anyone, and I loved EFLC better than vanilla GTA IV to be honest. But if it really did sell poorly, it makes sense that they would take that into consideration for future titles.

And yes I'm aware of the article from 2013 that mentioned upcoming story updates, we've all seen that now. That doesn't mean a company shouldn't reserve the right to change their mind at some point in development or go in a different direction. I suppose people would say an official confirmation of the DLC either existing or not would have been nice, but Imran Sawar's interview seemingly was just that. He said it was talked about but then moved against.

I don't know what to add besides that. It's sad we never got it and never will, but I wish people would quit acting so outraged over something that technically makes sound business sense. (I'm sure people will accuse me of sucking Rockstar's cock here too, but no, I'm speaking from the point of someone that understands business.)

It's always about money.  If it sells faster and stronger Online than RockStar needs to keep doing what it's doing into RDR and the next GTA title. If Single player downloadable content is released ever again, it needs to sell very well or it may not happen again. However, RockStar doesn't want to charge anyone Single Player content due to their own opinions. They seem to have mixed feelings about it.

Are you referring to this interview?

The two key lessons we learned were that if you want a vibrant multiplayer community, you have got to provide content frequently and fairly quickly after release, which we tried to do with Red Dead.

And I think the two GTA episodes, from a creative standpoint, were absolutely fantastic. We are very, very, very proud of them. And we are kind of compelled due to various other business factors to make them that size -- but something at $20 for DLC, maybe $10 is a more exciting price point.

Hmmm, no that wasn't it, but I do remember that interview, and it's a great read. It really shows how much care Rockstar does put into what they do, and how much it means to them for the fans to be happy with the end result. Maybe I am remembering something that never happened, that's why I mentioned it because I was on this forum and others, and reading about the development of GTA V daily for a good 3 years from the launch of the first trailer onward. And I remember that quote but have no clue where I ever heard it, or even IF I am remembering it correctly at all.

Thanks for that link though, I read through that entire entire view again and I love how candid Dan was about the development process.

I really wonder if R* is going to consider making DLC for RDR2 SP. Maybe like Undead nightmare or they will concentrate on the online portion. I hope so. Unlike V, Its bitter sweet because Onilne is getting so much content that SP should have.

Based on how things are going, they will half ass RDR2 single player, cut content for Online, recycle the planned single player dlc into online money milking profit and have Imran Dickwar lie through his teeth a few years from now saying that the story mode was "very very very complete" and that single player dlc was never planned or necessary.

You have Gay Tony from single player, Lazlow from single player and DJs which can easily be put in single player story. But of course, as Imran Sarwar said, SP DLC wasn't "possible or necessary", right?

The nightclub stuff would have definitely fit Franklin in single player. Would have improved his part of the story big time.

Imagine if SP got at least a quarter of the support online got...

It would already be more than enough but nope.

Imran is such a hypocrite though. If single player dlc wasn't necessary or possible, how the f*ck are they still making DLC for GTA Online 5 years on? And why is Single player, (THE ACTUAL GAME!) left to rot becoming more and more broken with each online update. The only thing they patch is ways to get pre Lowriders custom classics vehicles into story mode which is pathetic. Also I like how some people claim they don't add the new stuff to single player because GTA Online is in 2018 but fail to notice that Blonded which you can listen to in single player advertises ONLINE EXCLUSIVE vehicles from the Doomsday heist. How is that I wonder 🤔

Well for now it is what it is. It seems that I have to return to online after a long time cause I can't miss my boy Tony. But I have never bought a shark card and never will.

The Doomsday Heist, Night club update and lowriders update could help franklin to have a more developed story. I'm sure that these 3 updates are scrapped from the SP dlc.

Why would they? As you said in another thread, they were disappointed with the DLC sales for GTA IV.

Actually Doomsday was meant for Trevor but Lowriders and nightclubs could definitely be extra Franklin content. I'm kind of surprised Rockstar haven't converted the Casino heist from the original Single player Doomsday heist into Online content yet.

Because Shark Cards + Casino= Real life gambling

I also saw you said SP won't get anything from this update in another thread. I'm sure it gets the new radio station

We'll see. Also I wasn't talking about gambling. Just the Heist itself. I doubt Trevor would run in guns blazing and just spontaneously decide he wants to have a quick game of blackjack lol.

If I compare trailers, they set another low level. If I compare this "after nights"trailer to trailer of TBOGT, this is really bad.

Online trailers looks same and like they put less effort with new trailer everytime.
