They complain about getting short changed, then proceed to "accept" the cut, decide to take half an hour on a 15 minute heist, then leave at the last minute to "show" the host? Like what does that accomplish? You probably could've made what you were offered doing something else in that time, and the host won't care about the time wasted, as he'll reload and move onto the next person willing to accept the cut and have it done in 15 minutes or less.

You clearly don't heist much, or you'd know one of the biggest and most common complaints come from hosts that are reliant on randoms that's stuck wasting time on heists/setups from people failing, dying, trolling, or greed. Wasted time is the complaint.

Me, I join a job, and if in 30 seconds (Not including cutscenes etc. my cut doesn't suit, I'm off long before they quit/start. But I do have it in me to be a nightmare if a host changes my cut after I gave ample time for them to set their amounts and they them change that after.

I don't get it but I have a feeling they think a lesson will be learned. TBH the OP sounds like a good heist mate but asking or expecting more than 15% is pointless, the host will give you more if they don't need more money to buy their toys, it's not about skills or self-worth or even greed really imo. It's simply the difference between "needs" and "wants", most hosts chose to host so they would rake in the big bucks and I admire the OP for joining from the preps and staying until the end, if he does the math he made quite a bit of money without spending much, unlike the host who got one big payout for all that time and money that no one saw him spend on the heist.

I think this thread might help joiners understand it's not even worth asking for more. I rarely host and I get paid well sometimes just by being the first to ready up or saving the host during a setup or whatever... point is there's no specific reason to increase cuts, no host is taking notes, it's only done by generous people who want to give more.

Nope, never.

There's no agenda with me, pay fair or piss off, I don't care which as there's just far too many heist players out there that do pay fair. I come from invite sessions, the majority of hosts don't. Knowing they'll be stuck in the clouds most likely these days is more than enough for me, lol. (Though again, honestly don't care really).

I come from a 'don't ask, don't get' world. Works for me. But to each their own.

I'm cool with 15 percent. As long as the host or the randoms aren't idiots who don't know how to play.

I always split the money as equally as I can if I host.

Most hosts are rubbish, and I'm sure see themselves as some real-life bank robber who gets to dole out crumbs to his/her crew.

Bandersnatch

Randoms 15% just don't be sneaky and set to 0% at the last minute. I am here to help you not be trolled.

If hosting shall even split with freinds

If Friends in need of gta $ take chunk of my share

If randoms are cool and not trolls you get to join for future events if there's a spot

I both except and give 40% when I'm doing Fleeca/DDH with one player. Nothing more, nothing less. Those who stay with me and do some prep missions, definitely deserve a fair share of the cut, and since I have money, I don't really care if I get 60 or 80%, it's all about mutual respect, fun and sticking to my code of honor in the game. Also, giving people a good cut often results in friend invitations, which helps us both in the long run, since we have reliable, trustworthy heisting partners. That's how you build the net of contacts you can help, and who can help you. Something greedy players will never get.

When I play with 2 other players, I can see myself giving 25% to my friends, and 20% to anyone else whom we played up to this point (and naturally, that's also my minimum when I join as a guest). In 4 player teams, my friends get fair 20%, and others 15%. That's the only fair ratio to me, since prep missions don't give the host a dime.

If I'm hosting I'll split at least equally, often I'll take the smallest cut myself.

Joining a random heist I'll take what I'm given. I ready up regardless.

I don't heist for the money, I do it for any unlocks firstly, after that it's for a break from free roam or to play with some forum members.

40/20/20/20. Or 60/40 for anything with two players, or 50/25/25 with three.

I've been fine to settle for 15 when I've joined random heists (never be that person who sits at 'unready' for ages because they don't like the cut they're getting...), but ...frankly, it shouldn't matter whether or not people have done the whole thing or not, since if you're going for randoms via Quick Job, they're all in the same boat, trying to get the job done and earn some money.

The above cuts are the recommended ones in order for the host to make back the setup costs, so that's the fairest way to do it - unless, of course, someone is completely loaded, doesn't need as much money, and so offers to take a smaller cut in order to bump up the payout to someone else who needs it.

2015 Heists:

25% - host generosity

20% - what I would call fair. I would "deserve" this for helping since the start. You can give me more, but I'll be fine with this.

15% - I'll accept this if I only joined for the finale. If I did the mission(s) before the finale, bump me up to 20%.

10% or lower - I refuse on principle

Doomsday Heists (with four people):

25% if I was here since the prep missions.

20% if I was here since the setup missions, no prep

15% if this is the first time I've joined you

Although personally, I can afford to give my cut away everytime so I do that instead as a form of GTA charity. If I didn't have these ill-gotten gains then I'd follow the criteria above.

Act 2 finale takes 15 mins and pays how much at 15%? Why would you waste time then walk away with nothing?!? LOL

-1 faith in humanity

See, the context is stated. Read the ops post. He spent a lot more than 15 min helping out the guy through all the setups and sub missions. Said guy then refused to pay more than 15%, so OP left.

His argument was that he earned a larger percentage.

My counter was to say that he should have taken the 15% and then fu*k the guy over by dumping out at the last minute and making the mission fail.

In both circumstances, he would have made $0 but in my scenario he would have wasted the guys time and made a point.

The point: "you get what you pay for".

Or are you happy being someone b*itch and taking it up the a** for a mere 15% cut?

I do 25% for all, but I think 20% for other players and 40 for host is fair.

I usually do 90-99% of the work anyway :/

Right now I insist on being the host and I take the lowest cut possible since I do heists with my friends.

when heists came out, I was okay with the host getting 40% while the rest of us get 20%, as the years went by and I got enough money, I joined randoms and if they give me more 15% or more I message them to give me 0%, if they give me lower than 15% as a start, I leave.

Actually sounds like the OP was begging and the host left to find another player for the most lucrative mission. So OP shot himself in the foot by expecting more than 15%, not merely asking for a raise, If he just asked he should be able to accept the answer.

So receiving 15% makes me a sodomized b*tch but helping do all the preps and setups only to get booted from the finale for begging, is noble?

Let's do the math then... you'll quickly see the OP made money for every setup while the host paid for those mission and received no payout until the finale. The host also spent 750k-3mil on a facility and $95k just to start the heist.

We don't really need to care about the facility cost but we need to at least deduct the cost of the heist, right?

Also OP said everything was completed on hard and he didn't die so he's actually making more money on hard, many hosts leave in on normal because we randos are unable to survive many times, but that host trusted the OP enough to pay him the max for setups.

In the end the OP made 0% for the finale and felt used by the host... me, I make about $200k for that 15 min mission by readying up and accepting any generosity the host is willing to part with, and i'm a b*tch who's taking it up the backside? ok boss.

Edit: I played 2 full heists (minus the preps) yesterday, both hosts chose setups on normal and paid everyone 25%, which no one begged for.

Go ahead and call me names now 😛

The Wandering Hunter

for ddh? id help for 40% maybe  if the host did the preps in mtu on their own so we didn't need to waste time in public lobbies. or less if there were more than 2 people playing. when i did my ddh i gave 50%, although i am technically making less, i get the unlocks and the person helping does not and i wouldn't want to play through it again just to grind money.

but act 3 can just go f*ck itself in general.

I used to be a bit of a d**k when it came to "how much I think I deserve" back when I played GTA Online daily. I'd put in a certain amount of work depending on the cut I was given. For example, if a host only wanted to give me 10% then he better not be expecting a lift from me, and if the mission failed I was out of there. If he offered me 15%, I'd pull my weight because at least that shows he's somewhat serious about getting it done rather than taking as much profit as he can. If he offered 20% or even the rarely seen 25% to myself as a random, then I'd be more than willing to call my Akula that's glitched in my MOC and fly him to the mission start point and wherever he needs to go.

Nowadays I'm more of a casual player... an hour or two every couple of days. I do like the occasional heist and if one pops up I'm still gonna accept, but my tolerance for trolls and timewasters is at an all-time low. If they wanna offer me 10%, that's cool, I'll drive myself and put in all the work that's required, I won't hold out for more. But if there's another random in the lobby holding out for 15% or more and the host isn't coughing up, I'm leaving. If the host cuts my pay at the last second, I'm leaving. If they spend 10 mins picking out the perfect outfit, I'm leaving. If someone dies a stupid death, I'm leaving (however I do get that sometimes you're caught off guard, end up dead and need a second chance)

In GTA Online I no longer feel that my input to heists has a specific monetary value. But I do feel like I'm entitled to not have my time wasted. But anyone who actually wants to play the heist, I'm down for whatever starting percentage they give me. Even if it's a 2 player DDH finale.

TLDR; my time > my money

70/30 for 2 people

60/20/20 for 3 people

55/15/15/15 for 4 people

Equal share isn't fair on the leader. 55/15/15/15 worked out as the most fair split for the original heists and that's what I stick with. If I'm crew and only get 15% that's fair enough too.

If it's a random joining the finale without helping at all throughout the setups they get 10% which is still a decent payout, if they don't like it there are plenty of others out there who will take it. I've even accepted 0% on the original heists just because I wanted to play the heist and didn't need the money (it's not all about the money, it's not a job it's a game).

Unless someone has asked for my/my crews help to get them through CMM or whatever then the share is different and generally discussed before even starting the heists.

To answer the question directly and succinctly:

The only things I deserve are the things I create and have earned of my own merit.

I do not deserve anything which I have not pursued and acquired, myself.

Just my 2¢. :)

Old heists when I host I give

Fleeca - I make my teammate the driller and give them 60% or 70% if it's a low level

Other heists - 25% if they have helped with a couple of setups without screwing up too much or if they are only there for the finale it's 20%

I have found the more you pay the more careful someone is and they are less likely to leave after a restart or 2.

I will accept 15% if I have helped with all the setups or 10% if I have only done a couple of setups or I'm just there for the finale

I think if you havent helped do any setups you deserve 15% but if you help on setups its 20% no more no less. 99% of players ready up.

The more you pay the more effort I'll put in it.

10% - no deal, I'll leave

15% - I'll do my work and only this. -max. one restart.

20% - this is where you start to get me, regular effort to complete the heist. -up to two restarts allowed.

25% - I'm yours for the heist. bringing up shortcuts or other tricks I know.

30% - you'll get my 110%

I'll play for 15% at the minimum. You drop my cut, and I stop carrying your crew.

I don't ask for anything special, and do it mostly for the thrill of success, not the cash that comes along with it, but that doesn't mean some sh*tter host can waste my time and ammo getting killed by NPCs and expect me to walk out with barely enough to buy a pair of sunglasses.

If I'm hosting, though, I'll put everyone up to 20%, typically, enough for me to break even with most heists or sit in the black with the higher paying ones. If friends are in the lobby, I do even splits, just for the sake of it. Don't want some rando dipsh*t to get mad and go complain online that he joined the heist at the finale and got paid less than the people who were with me from the start.
