AdvangeMarius
I just start this post for some reason, You see Phone in GTA 4 is a Nokia phone and then you have GTA 5 with cool smartphone even in 1st person. The thing is, I want to see if GTA 6 has a feature where you have a modernized phone with your finger moving through an app like real smartphone, you can control the finger by rotating the analog or touching and moving the touchpad in PS4 controller(Xbox doesn't have touchpad)and press X to select app. Also you can flip vertical of your phone, browsing web with phone screen or full screen mode, taking a picture or selfie, maybe recording video too! So let's up to you guy thing is this is a good idea or i'm a dork? Edited June 20, 2018 by AdvangeMarius Tao Cheng

DOUGL4S1
I like the way GTA V's system is, it's simple to use on both controller and keyboards and it works. But it would be kinda cool if the real-life iFruit app had a feature where you could control the in-game cellphone from your real-life phone. AdvangeMarius
Also, I ask for a phone that run out of battery. You have some kind of battery source, for an example: You can browsing web and the battery will likely drain quicklier than usual (take 2 sec in real life as a minute in game, the battery would go down for 3-10 minute) when battery empty, all the phone call or massages will be stop just like sleep mode, once if fully charged the thing will continue. One more feature that if you go on a high mountain or Restricted areas, You signal will likely go down and any phone call will be distored, static... GTA isn't Watch Dogs, so we don't need a tedious battery recharging mini-game to ruin your actice job. In Mafia 3 had gas regilling mini-game and if you didn't refill before every mission... You'll fail the mission if the vehicle was required to complete the mission and runs out the gas. If yall want that stuff go play those games, cause we don't want required tedious mini-games to kill our vibe. Remember in GTA Online, hacking in bank heists made people ragequit forever. Either because it was too tedious or too difficult for them to process threw it. Even I ragequit when that happen, because it wasn't fun and very impatient. AdvangeMarius
Yeah... my brother told me that was a sh*ttiest idea because battery could run out in middle of a mission. You like, pssssss *DONK* "Mission Failed: Your phone runs out of battery" so I take that idea back

That's going to be way too realistic and annoying in my opinion. I don't want my phone battery to die out of nowhere whenever I'm making phone calls or going on the internet. The phone has been apart of the story missions since Vice City. If it's a modern game again it would be ridiculous to not have a phone used as part of the story. Anyway I'd be happy with a setup like GTA V. Just a minor thing, but I'd like to be able to purchase different ring tones like GTA IV and themes too just for a bit more of a personal touch. Its probably why Lester always told Franklin to pick up at different payphones to not get caught by the police. Lioshenka
My preference would be no phone. So either a pager, or only an ability to answer it, like Renderware games. Kind of hate the whole navigate around the phone system that R* introduced and having to re-define the keys to be able to play it properly. I'd like less lame "reality" attempts and more fun stuff to do in the game. Edited June 22, 2018 by Lioshenka GTA-Biker and Am Shaegar

luisniko
I'd rather have details in actual gameplay such as car tuning or deeper gun or melee weapon modification. Something like phone relates a lot to interacting with UI. Things like having to go through some sort of screen-hovering hand motion will only last as a novelty and hinder the actual usability both from efficiency and effectiveness, just like any of those touch pad and gyro ideas. Perhaps the idea can be simplified with a simpler pressing animation after something is selected. Edited July 4, 2018 by luisniko
MARKUS.
I don't know how R* could implement a new GTA without the phone, like Vice City on the 80's. Phone is a big tool for gameplay on new GTAs... I don't know if that was even the reason why GTA V was set on 2013 and not on the 90s
GTA-Biker
Honestly,I think a smartphone in a video game is unnecessary. We don't have a cellphone in many of the older GTA games (and even in those that have it,it's only used for calls),as well as RDR games, Mafia games and a bunch of other open world games set in the past, and we still have fun playing those games. I would prefer getting to the location of some safehouse to check it out before I buy it,and buying vehicles in dealerships or simply stealing them off the streets, instead of buying safehouses and vehicles from websites,so I would welcome a GTA set in the 70s or 80s where we wouldn't even have a cellphone (we could still use phones in our safehouses and public payphones for calls),or in the 90s or 2000s where we would have some simple cellphone that would only be used for calls, messages and maybe taking photos (if the setting is in the mid-late 2000s when most cellphones had cameras).Even if the next game again has a modern setting,at least we should have an alternative way of getting stuff instead of depending on the smartphone too much,I'm already staring at the screen while playing the game,I don't want to stare at a screen inside another screen. Use a payphone and make a call. Want a car go to the dealership steal that motherf*cker, want a new house call the real estate agent buy that bitch, want to know what's going on in the world?
