A way to be passive, but not transparent?

So is there a way to be in passive mode, but not transparent or seeing anyone else that way?  I want to be able to go about my business without being killed and to show other gamers I'm no threat to them.  I'm trying to test out a bit of role play, but it completely breaks the illusion when seeing everyone as transparent ghosts.

 

OR is there some method, game mode etc that renders me harmless and not able to be killed at the same time whilst still remaining in a public lobby?  Thank you.

There might be some glitch that can do that, but no legitimate way

You don't turn transparent/intangible on last gen though

I wish you wouldn't become a transparent ghost in passive mode, but that's just how it works, unfortunately.

Thanks for the answers everyone.  Frustrating!  Wish it was selectable from options.  Why does it matter if someone is transparent or not?  Oh well...

I don't think you're a ghost when you're in a gang attack but other players can't kill you.

God mode. Try se7ensins. Most people use it to grief, but you'll be the first benign deity.

R* made it transparent because on PS3/XB1 players were still able to kill you even when you were passive as you were solid object.

 

So R* made it transparent so the game knows you're not a solid object and so the game won't let other objects controlled by other players hit you although there are still some methods such as ghost riding but you gotta be awfully lucky.

 

As you have to jump out of the car far enough away that it becomes a ped vehicle again and hope it hits the player, This also works as a passive player v a non passive player just reversed
