Rhoda
8/10, I've always been fond of album covers that give so little away you'd almost have to buy it to hear what's inside. Considering when this was released, you'd either have to know who Minutemen were or be brave and buy the record. I like the colours used too. I also think it's wise the album title is nowhere to be seen because it's quite wordy and I feel like that would ruin the look. Here's a funny one. SageFan
6/10. Nostalgic but the more you look at it the more of an eyesore it is. I remember owning this on CD and cringing every time I saw the disc in my CD wallet. It's far too dramatic. Arrows to Athens

Rhoda
6/10, this album cover fits perfectly well in the crowd of "vaguely familiar but you can't tell what it is" art of the time. At first glance you'd be forgiven for thinking it's some kind of Christmas ornament hanging in a tree. I personally think it looks like a stylised version of those old TV and radio logos for science fiction programming - there's often a planet with rings (that's how you can tell it's a planet) and some radio tower on the top giving off signals ominously. I'm aware I've vaguely described the old Comedy Central logo but this goes back further than that. It also looks like an overpriced neon sign advertising a glitzy Hollywood themed restaurant where the waitstaff are wearing costumes imitating stars of yesteryear. I like it, generally, but it doesn't yell "listen to me". The four circles provide nice contrast but I think it would have made more of an impact if it was just the planet thing in the trees or whatever it is. Halal Cyborg
8/10 I like the fact it’s so organic looking and just was drawn rather than being designed.
Rhoda
7/10, what I like about most album artwork from Venetian Snares is sometimes it's not always clear what kind of music you're going to get. This is complicated even further when you consider the man has a habit of genre hopping a fair bit between releases. This one clearly contains something you wouldn't necessarily play around your grandparents. The young girl looks uneasy and weary all at once. She's likely crying blood and her make up has started to blend in with the bruising. With some clever framing, she appears to be casting a glance at the artist and the title. I'm trying not to let the bias influence my score because I know his work very well, but it's obvious from the artwork this isn't exactly going to be a good time. For the trivia heads, this was done by artist Trevor Brown who is responsible for a good handful of Venetian Snares' album covers, including one EP titled Horse & Goat which was considered so obscene many retailers refused to stock it without some packaging censorship. I've given this one a 6, mainly because it isn't awful by any means but it doesn't do a great job of showcasing Brown's talents.

[Ambient]
Not a fan of "A" in "DURAN". I feel like "LIMITED EDITION DOUBLE VINYL" kinda ruins the composition. 5/
Tycek
I had to actually check if that cover is real, because it looks so amateurish in my opinion. The musician I am assuming, sitting in his track pants, sandals and socks, looking like a nerd trying to be cool by making pic of himself in his dad's BMW. And that pointer on the sky. Terrible. The only thing I like about that cover is the colour palette, because light BMW and illuminated ground creates nice contrast with the completely black background - 3/
