Worst band you've ever heard/seen live?

Recommended Posts

Didn't see a topic for this so I figured i'd make one. Sorry if there was already one I just didn't see it.

Only because it's still fresh in my head I saw Pop Evil with STP, Dead Girls Academy & 10 Years

Pop Evil was by far the worst band i've ever heard/seen live. Hands down & i've seen many other sh*tty bands live on countless tours. They are the most radio friendly generic rock band i've ever heard. I would even say they are WORSE than Nickelback. The ONLY good thing about the band is their drummer Hayley Cramer. She is an awesome drummer and has so much energy.

Boston Manor easily... Saw them at Download this year and my god,it was just some idiot jumping around and screaming. Not to mention the mix was abysmal as well, it was just a custerf*ck of bass and noise.

L7 was pretty bad as well (also at Download), they were completely dead.

Disappointingly, Death Grips.

I've been a Death Grips fan for years. I first caught wind of them when their debut mixtape Exmilitary seemingly came out of nowhere. With little more than how many members were in the project and where they were from, I knew nothing else. I quickly fell in love with their passion, their instrumentals and their production value. I felt particularly blessed when I managed to get a night off work and some tickets to see them in my local city. I took two friends who had never heard of them along with me, because I thought if they were going to start anywhere with them, it should be a live show. I'm not usually one for live music because I don't like crowds, and gig atmosphere gives me bad gas. Imagine my disappointment then when the trio emerged nearly 40 minutes late and sounding like utter sh*t. I don't know if it was a soundboard issue or if the venue wasn't suitable, but the acoustics were awful. I couldn't stand it. It was like watching a cover band badly traipse over the already lifeless corpse of a song I once cherished. The drums were muddy, and Ride's vocals seemed to be drowning under tinny instrumentals that may as well have been played out of somebody's mobile phone.

We left 15 minutes in. I alleviated some of the disappointment with 9 beers and a donut before heading home.

Shadows Fall. They just weren’t very cohesive and they sounded like sh*t.

Kinda glad I was only 12 when I saw Nirvana. I don’t recall them being that great.

What was the date?

(I’m one of those obsessive “know everything about everything”/collects bootlegs fans. Sorry.)

Ahh okay. That would’ve been at the Astro Arena. Still cool that you saw them, even if you didn’t enjoy it.

Really? I've seen them 3 times and they were always tight as hell, one of them was one of the better gigs I've been to. Everybody's got off nights, though.

Me? Barring local bands that were clearly more about the after party than knowing how to play, Hatebreed. They're already complete fxcking garbage anyway, but being forced to suffer through them so many times (since Jasta is a parasitic whore that needed to be attached to tours above his place) turned me feral.

ClassicRock

The Rolling Stones in 1989 at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY. Not because I don't like the band (although I liked them more then than I do now) but rather the venue had the worst acoustics for live gigs. The sound literally bounces all over the place in there. If I had known ahead of time just how gawd-awful the acoustics are in that joint, I would have saved myself the waste of time (and $) that it turned out to be.  Never again.

I've seen a ton of straight up awful shows, but i think the most disappointing was John Mayall. I don't know what I expected, but that wasn't it. It was just him on a corny Yamaha PSR-looking set of keys and an ES-125 which he couldn't really play, a good drummer, great guitarist, and terrible bass player. I don't know how greg rzab manages to hold down a gig, he  keeps terrible time and is an awful soloist

Mister Pinkerton

It was a rather unknown band but they had these nice music videos and good music, and we booked them for a gig. We made the mistake of headlining them because they just killed off the atmosphere with this drab, boring live show.
