The .gxt is from TTDISA, unedited, so there is some mistakes like Hotrings named "Stinger" and "Deluxo".

mrwht.txd has HD textures, not lore friendly, and uncompressed (almost 4 MB).

That's what I'm doing, what I said is easily fixable (just open .gxt, search and change, and open .txd e change textures resolution and add DXT compression).


btw: I'm translating it to portuguese. I know several brazilian guys who would like to use TTDISA (as well as this mod) but don't use it since portuguese .gxt is not compatible.

 

And, I really liked seeing this mod being created, I completely agree that TTDISA needs an alternate version like this one. I could help with more things if I had time.

 

Oh, also, add some .txt file with the following line inside modloader subfolder:

COLFILE 0 data\maps\od_lightbeam.col

("data\maps" says to modloader load it in any case, in fact the file can be inside any folder on modloader).

This will prevent the game from hitting the .col file limit (which is very small), thus being better compatible with other mods.

If this mod needs another .col, prefer to merge it in just one (the .col file name doesn't matter, you can use for example "storyenh.col").

Alternatively, you can use fastman92 limit adjuster to increase col file limit.

Oh, more.

I don't know if the errors are yours or from TTDISA, but I'll talk anyway.

 

You replaced a native .ide file just to add a new line. Why not just create a new .ide file?

Also, you used a common ID for the new object, the same ID that most mods use, your mod is incompatible with various mods.

Use an uncommon available ID instead, for example 17484.

 

Since you added a new object, may be necessary to use Open Limit Adjuster or another good configured limit adjuster, otherwise if someone already has hit the new models limit (which is very small), the game will crash at 0x004C663B after installing this mod.

 

The light is FPS-dependent.

It's necessary to use delta time.

 

00C2: was used with 5.0 radius, but this light area is obvious bigger than 5 meters.

Unfortunately it's really necessary to use .img editor, I thought modloader had support for "cuts.img" folder (as it has for "gta3.img" and "player.img"), but it didn't work, and more, it caused me headaches because I left the files there and the game crashed after a while during gameplay, because modloader installed the .dat like it was gta3.img file. Well, I think this serves as a warning if someone tries this — don't try it, doesn't work and causes crash.

Yes the skin is from VCS, they have a slightly higher quality than GTA SA (512-256)

There is no quality, there is only resolution, they have stretched low resolution textures. (what are people trying to do when they do this? Make textures "HD"?)

Actually you can easily add them by yourself. Just use these.

i get a crash after saving after the first mission, the save file is there but if i try to load it after re openning the game i get a crash again, i dont think any of my mods could be causing this, i only got like ipl, dff and texture fixes, pretty vanilla oriented



pd: could you add the ''mission passed'' theme after the green sabre? and the basketball clothing for smoke and post prision outfit for sweet in tagging up turf and homecoming respectively?

He might since he added the "Impounded" mission for Caesar. I guess, we'll just have to see. I'm having a positive feeling about this overhaul.

Sorry for the late replies everyone, I've been way too busy searching for work so I haven't really worked much on this since the last update. I have read the posts though and I appreciate anyone helping out and making it better (Thanks Junior_Djjr 😊).

And yeah, GXT is taken straight from TTDISA with several alterations, but I forgot about the Deluxo / Stinger parts. I'll compile a small list of things to fix and push out another update somewhere down the line. I'm not sure on adding new missions because I feel 'Truth Is Out There' and 'Tanked Up' isn't really integral to the story (and really, who wants to do more Zero missions?).

 

And thank you for the feature on Mixmods.br! I'm so happy that a lot of attention has been paid to the mod and people are willing to help out with my awful modding practices.

What about the cut dialogue of Big Smoke and Ryder in the beginning mission when CJ rides too fast and falls off the bike? And also the drive to the cemetery with Big Smoke? The original Fisn in a barrel mission objective? And many others... Most important stuff isn't done.
