lewiz6235 Posted March 6, 2019 Share Posted March 6, 2019 Truth be told, the RE2 Remake certainly excels gameplay-wise, since the older games start to date quite badly when you consider how flawed the controls are (even if it's done to enhance the horror aspects of the game itself), but I feel as if they messed up the replayability aspect of Resident Evil 2, as the two separate campaigns here feel almost identical whereas in the original there were clear distinguishments in cutscenes and gameplay areas/bosses that made it feel just enough like a continuation of the game as opposed to just doing the same thing again but with another character and maybe a few changes to just barely justify it. Matrelith Posted March 14, 2019 Share Posted March 14, 2019 Currently working on my last achievement, Claire hardcore S+ speedrun. Just did the three medallions and G1 fight in 15 minutes and 30 seconds and I used my first save. Compared to my Leon speedrun, I'm about 1 minute faster so far. I'm wondering how the parking pass+sewer sections will go. I feel like Claire has an easier time than Leon with those parts. As far as getting from the prison to the sewers it seems to me like you can get through Leon’s faster but he has the higher chance of dying. Is this The Guy? Posted March 16, 2019 Share Posted March 16, 2019 Finally got S+ with Leon, now going to do another play through where I just blow everything up with the rocket launcher lol. My 3 saves were very different from when I played Claire’s. For Claire I cleared out the upstairs storage room where you got the large gear first then saved in the chiefs office right before I met the Tyrant. My Second save was right before G2 Birkin then 3rd save was right before G3 Birkin. For Leon my first save was right before the alligator. My second save was right before G3 and my 3rd save was right before Super Tyrant. I just need to complete Hunks mission to get Platinum but farthest I made it was passed the gate you start at for the second run before getting destroyed. Matrelith Posted March 17, 2019 Share Posted March 17, 2019 4th survivor is a pretty fun challenge, definitely better than Ghost Survivors in my opinion. I did my first succesful run in about 12 minutes last week. Struggled a bit in the sewer, but did the RPD first try. Ideally for the final stretch in the courtyard, you'll want a least one grenade and one knife. Throw the grenade to stun the majority of the zombies and have the knife ready in case the Ivy grabs you. Stun the G with a Magnum bullet for good measure. Then when you descend down the stairs, shoot the legs of all the zombies with your shotgun as fast as possible to keep your distance from Mr. X. I got unlucky with the G's on my way to the king and queen plug, plus I ended up bringing too litle ammo to G3 so I had to wing it. Save points ended up being: - After G1 but before Sherry gets taken away (15 minutes 30 seconds) - Sewer control room, having to get the rook and queen and king plug (39 minutes) - The lab in the room before the plants (1 hour 1 minute) Is this The Guy? 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
