Cripto136 Posted February 4, 2019 Share Posted February 4, 2019 I'm really impressed with this remake. It portrays the survival horror aspect of the original very well with modern gameplay mechanics. My only gripe is how some of the bosses are fought in the same place in both A and B scenario but the rest of the game more than makes up for it. Gonna start with Claire B-side soon, after that maybe try hardcore difficulty. I'm definitely gonna try and get all the achievements. The classic resource starved bullet-sponge enemy survival horror with the modern over the shoulder control scheme made for the most fun I've had in a Resident Evil game in a long time. I'm currently doing Claire's B-campaign, having just started Sherry's segment at the orphanage The start was definitely more difficult because you don't start at the main hall and Mr. X arrives much earlier, so it was a bit more disorientating compared to Leon's A campaign start. I haven't run into any major problems in terms of ammo. I forced myself to not waste too many ammo on zombies and only truly take them out in areas I know I'm gonna travel through often. I think in my current playthrough I only truly killed the three - four zombies in the stairwell close to the dark room. Stormingz Posted February 14, 2019 Author Share Posted February 14, 2019 Been busy these past couple weeks but I’ve finally completed Claire B scenario, have to say it does seem a lot harder especially considering Mr. X shows up a lot earlier, worth it for the true ending though. But by time I get out of the police station for the second go through I clocked it at an hour and 45 minutes lmao. On the other hand, I really enjoyed 4th Survivor and Tofu mode so these were still nice additions. Also loved the soundtrack for No Time to Mourn and Forgotten Soldier. Same was hoping for more story, especially for Kendo and his daughter. But tbh I can't complain, its a big chunk of extra gameplay for free. I'm currently doing a hardcore S+ playthrough of Leon's B-side, and damn it is tough. Managed to get the three medallions and fight G1 in 16 minutes, after that I used my first save. I'm planning on using my second and third save before G2 and G3, but that means that right now I have to get the parking lot pass and do the entire sewers section without saving... I'm still at the part past G1 Birkin at the moment. I tried a few practice runs and got pretty far. Biggest problem is X's random movement that changes each run during the second part of the RPD and getting the tool to move the bookcases at the library (that one hallway has lickers and Mr. X coming after you when playing as Leon. Claire has it so much easier). I'll try again today. It's certainly possible, but you just need a bit of luck as well. I'm thinking of using my second save somewhere before Ada's segment. That way I don't have to redo the RPD part should I fail somewhere in the sewers. Pretty sure I can do the sewers, G2 and the lab in one run. They're not that difficult if you know the quickest routes. And then I can use my last save before G3. [edit]: managed to finish the RPD's section segment in one go after failing these last few days. Currently at 41 minutes and used my second save right before Ada's segment ended. Now I have to do the sewers, G2 and the lab in one run. This should be doable. My three save points ended up being: - After G1 Birkin boss battle (16 minutes) - Right before Ada's segment ended (41 minutes) - Arriving at the lab, having done the cafetaria and on my way to Plant 43 (1 hour 3 minutes) Last stretch was difficult. I had a lot of trouble with G3 for some reason. Once he was down though, I beat Mr. X and G5 in one go. Still looks sick, I’m going to go for S+ with Leon soon as well. I just finished a S+ run with Claire A scenario too, probably the easiest one to get lol.
