chronic lumbago
The graphics and level of detail look amazing. I never played the original. I enjoyed the demo too much to pass this game up. Damnit Capcom, releasing a 30 minute demo was a great tactic to leave me hungry for more. Ivan1997GTA and Tchuck
Tchuck
Mister X is on a whole other level, man. The effects when you shoot at him, with his clothes getting a bit more tattered, moving as the bullets hit him, yet he keeps on coming! You guys will love it! And the Birkin fights are fantastic as well. When testing, I accidentally triggered one of the first fights, and boy was that sh*t intense! MisFit-138
Resident Evil is probably my favorite game series and the experience I had playing the original "RE2" is the top of that list. If MGS didn't exist, it would be easier to say RE2 is my favorite game of all time. Played the demo, didnt finish (or die). Started a new account, played again and finished at 20:43. Watched the speed run, tried again and got 06:12. I could NOT be happier with this REmake. Ok, ok, if we find out there is an unlockable game mode called "last escape" and is essentially RE3 as an unlockable, I would be substantially happier. Setzaroth
Never played a proper RE before. Wasn't a fan of the arbitrary timer, but I still got through it.
trip
The only RE I played all the way through was RE7. I give RE7 super high marks in the horror game genre. It might be my top horror game. For me that game is when they got the controls and camera "right". I enjoyed my 30 minute demo. It looks like I'll be enjoying this as much as I did RE7. Doublepulse
I've been a huge fan of the series for awhile. It's funny because I grew up playing the classics on PS1, but later stopped playing the series due to losing interest and not caring much. About around time RE6 was released, even though it was the "worse" in the series, it was what got me back into playing all of them again and kept me engaged when Revelations came out. So with that being said, can't wait to get this game this week. I would be okay if they did an entire series reboot with the new engine they are using. RE 3, 4, 5 and 6 getting an entirely new fresh look as I feel like the series started taking a different direction. Guest Billy Russo
Man, I'm so pumped for tomorrow. As good as Resident Evil 7 was, I've been waiting for a good pure Resident Evil horror experience for so long now. Feels so good to be back to third person perspective and focused more on survival horror. The icing on the cake is the fact it's a remake with familiar characters. Could be an early GOTY contender already.

Is this The Guy?
One thing I’ve been reading in some reviews is how this game doesn’t have that same scariness the original had. I’ve been playing since yesterday and what have people just become desensitized towards zombies over the years? I’ve come around corners and walked up the stairs and heard these brutal screams and have jumped in fear on more than one occasion. These zombie noises are eerie as hell man. I was expecting the usual moans and groans but these f*ckers are straight up screaming and you can even hear some of them gurgling blood if you get close enough, it’s amazing. One other thing I always look forward to in these RE games are the unlockables, when I noticed there was a way to get an unlimited combat knife I was wondering what good that would do. Then I started playing and was like oh that would be super useful lol. loving this game! MisFit-138 and Tchuck

Matrelith
Thoroughly enjoying my first, blind playthrough at the moment. I never played the original RE2, so I have no idea what to expect. Also don't have a clue where to go half the time, so I'm consulting my map constantly. I love it. I'm currently at Spoiler the parking garage, getting the second electronic part to get the keycard from the jail cell. sh*t is about to get down Couple of screenshots (first two are minor spoilers I suppose); Ivan1997GTA and Tchuck
chronic lumbago
I think Capcom truly deserves a round of applause. RE was going downhill until they got their sh*t together and brought the franchise back to its glory. I haven't played them all, but this game makes me want to go back to RE1 and 3. I love both RE7 and the new remake. Stormingz and Tchuck
Tchuck
Good game, eh? I'm really glad to see all the positive reception for it. (Not only because it means bigger bonus haha) Lots of new modes being added as well, including the awesome low-polygon models of Leon and Claire! Stormingz
I’ve just completed my first play through of Leon’s story in just under 8 hours. I took my time with the game sinking my teeth into (pun intended) every nook and cranny, admiring the detail and just overall loving every aspect of this game. I even paused to switch the games audio to the original soundtrack here and there for nostalgia, although I wanted to hear the remake soundtrack too, so my first run through was mostly “remake” audio. I played the original back in the day, and as someone who was at first afraid of the over the shoulder camera aspect, Capcom got it spot on and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It does justice to old fans and new alike. That final fight was fantastic, music and all, and even though I knew how the game played out, it still had an impactful story with great voice acting. Sound design of zombies was also excellent, especially the females. I’d also like to say, Mr. X is one resilient, persistent bastard. Easily my favourite enemy in this game. Oh, and f*ck lickers - amount of times they scared the sh*t out of me by popping out from around the corner. I could go on about this game, but I won’t because I’d end up writing paragraphs. Well f*cking done Capcom, what a way to start 2019. Going to play Claire’s story next. Now let’s make RE3 remake happen. @Tchuck Edited January 29, 2019 by Stormingz Tchuck, Journey_95, Is this The Guy? and 1 other
Guest Billy Russo
This game is everything I wanted from Resident Evil and more. So happy with my purchase. They captured that old RE feel perfectly whilst bringing it to new systems and new graphics. Capcom really nailed this one. Resident Evil was in a bad place for a while, but after how great RE7 was and now this Remake. It's fair to say RE is back!

Guest Billy Russo
This is one of the few games where I feel like full-price is definitely got my money's worth. In fact, it feels like a steal. RE7 was a great horror game & needed after the trainwreck that was RE6 but it didn't really feel like RE to me, this remake is how RE should be. Glad to play as characters again that I care about and of course the third person perspective is just much better than first person. Big Fat Paulie
The RE2 remake looks great so far, but I'm curious if they will remake RE3 in a similar manner. I sure hope they do. If Mr. X was that tough in the remake, imagine how dangerous the freakin' Nemesis will be. Journey_95

Toreno23
Got my definite money's worth on this game. So far played I've played Leon A/Claire on assisted at first getting used to the game. Then played standard with Claire to get the inf ammo Samurai Edge, doing Leon standard now. Done Claire B/ Leon B. Urgh and hardcore which I think imma pass on lol. Nervous enough wreck doing standard. Loving the original soundtrack too makes knowing when Mr. X is around much easier lol.
