Tchuck
I remember playing the game during some stress testing, and accidentally triggering the fight with Birkin! It was quite something! Stormingz
Stormingz
If I remember correctly, Birkin goes through four transformations in the original? First form and third form fight in campaign A and second and final form in campaign B? Edited August 23, 2018 by Stormingz
Tchuck
Five actually, I think. Don't recall the order of the fights, but there were five forms. Stormingz

Cripto136
One of the few games I'm actually excited for in a while. Never played the originals as a kid but did get to play them on the PS3 when it became available for download. Tchuck

Happy Hunter
I pretty much stopped following after E3. Losing the camera really takes away the feel of the old game. Used to have nice vivid backgrounds too - feels like the colours have become much more bland/grey. Also, the music - where is it? Maybe it was just turned off for the demo, but I couldn't hear much. Kind of a big deal, since the old game's music added to it a lot for me. I don't know, just didn't feel right. I think they should've just made another game or something - a remake should feel more true to the original in my opinion, like the first remake. Tchuck
Meh, the original REmake worked because it was still close enough in time to the originals that the camera angle etc was still alright. Also it only had vivid backgrounds because, you know, tech at the time was pretty crap. If they had made it darker, it would have been impossible to identify things. But once RE4 came out, it really blew away that system. And then RE7 went first person, also a very good game. Going back to the old system would be a massive step back. This Remake feels fantastic. It is also terrifying, way more horror than the original. And the music is there, don't worry about it.

I actually got it for my first time the other year (didn't have a GameCube, so only played the original PS1 RE). Even then, it was more than alright for me, and pretty much how I'd have done an RE2 remake. Then again, it wasn't the same price as an average game - so not having as much replayability, etc. wasn't such a big deal. Still, that could have been an option for RE2. All that, and the colour palette, etc. is personal preference though I guess. It just didn't really do it for me. I do like what I've seen of the gore though. I think the series has been missing that for a while. In the original you could rip a zombie in half with a shotgun. Tchuck

Yes, but a remaster != a full on remake, so it was a lot easier to make. 2 came out for the GameCube as well. If they had done a remake for 2 around the same time, they would have remastered it as well. 7 hours ago, Happy Hunter said: All that, and the colour palette, etc. is personal preference though I guess. You're in for a treat, man. I was extremely surprised while playing it, with the way the zombies attack you. It's graphic as hell! Icanhandlerejection
Is the anticipated plan to release an updated version for all the games in the series? Am particularly interested in an update for RE4 as I have long enjoyed the Reflecting Pool battle in the castle. (I had fortunately saved the game at that point on my PS2 version of RE4.) Additionally loved the Separate Ways and Mercenaries mini games.
Tchuck
I'm not aware of any plans, as I'm just a lowly programmer! But since Capcom likes to put their old games on every platform out there... Icanhandlerejection

Stormingz
I’ve just finished playing the 30 minute demo, and yeah, I’m definitely happy with what Capcom have created here. The atmosphere was solid, those dark hallways, oh boy. Capcom have really nailed that claustrophobic feeling and a sense of dread when wandering around the police station. The sound design of the zombies are excellent, there was especially one moment that made me think “oh sh*t” when wondering down the hallway where the player first encountered the Licker in the original game. Even the sound of Leon breathing heavy and panicking was nailed perfectly when you’re confronted by enemies. Voice acting was excellent too. Gameplay wise, the guns feel impactful, especially the shotgun. The tight, dark hallways really make you feel like every shot has to count especially when you’re fighting off a group of enemies. Oh, and it’s gory as f*ck too, you can actually see every bullet rip into the enemies, making it that more satisfying. Great job Capcom, looking forward to the full release now, only two weeks to go. Matrelith
Played the demo and thoroughly enjoyed it. I feel like 30 minutes was a right time for us to get a feel for the game and its performance. On my PC it ran beautifully, managed to get all settings relatively high and the framterate never dipped below 60 fps. Managed to get to the end with about a minute to spare Some shots; Stormingz and Tchuck
