Jobs Button is grayed out, is this normal?

I'm new to the online version of this game and i cant join any races, obstacle courses etc as the jobs button is grayed out and no jobs are available.

I added a lot of jobs from the social club site but still none are showing from within the game.

 

Can somebody help me please.

What rank are you? Did you skip the GTA Online tutorial?

Make sure you are adding jobs specifically for the platform you are playing on. For example, you can't play XBOX One created jobs on PS4 or PC.

 

You can however player last generation (PS3, XBOX 360) content on current generation consoles - brand specific.

If you are a low rank (Rank 1 - 25), this may cause issues with joining jobs. Rank up some more to widen your options.

 

Skipping the GTA:O Tutorial can affect your character too. I recommend playing through it anyway; you start the game as a Rank 3 compared to a Rank 1 (even though it isn't a giant difference).
