Come on now, without other players trying to attack you, it's far too easy.  High reward?  Then there should be a high risk.  Low reward?  Low risk.

Totally agree.

You guys remember that Mogul sale mission where Police helicopters can do enough damage to disable your plane when you still haven't reached the first drop location ?

NO, it's far too easy. At least one player must be firing a few missiles at you.

Thats a good point,

Destroy someone else's car : Hey, bad sport!

Destroy someone else's cargo : Hey thanks for increasing the odds of that person's buying a stinky fish card here's 1 dolllar

CrysisAverted

guy randomly goes and destroys my sh*t

spend the rest of the session destroying their sh*t for revenge

they cry about me attacking them

don't start sh*t.

what I'm saying is the game promoted destroying cargo

doing nothing to destroy someones cargo earns you nothing

destroying their cargo earns you little money and their hatred

doing your own sh*t to earn money earns you more money and likely less hatred

best if we mind each others business and respect others trying to do their work

if your an ass and destroy their sh*t, no point in complaining too much, just go to town on them until they leave.

Spoiler

this world by way of a noose

clinical oppression

I would personally never destroy other players cargo ..... but your buddy made 2 brutal errors . 1. collecting and selling aircrates for any reason other than unlocking trade prices . 2. Selling in a packed lobby .

I actually think he deserved it .

@Slam_Jones was referring to other players of the human variety (and I use that term loosely) and you seem to be referring to others players of the 01101110 01110000 01100011 variety. ;)

Sorry for your in-game revenue loss, OP.

I think GTA online players are gradually becoming more educated about that silly message from Rockstar to "destroy someone else's cargo", but some people still do it willingly because they know they probably shouldn't.

Yes, it's wrong to do it.

I do not do it myself and its annoying when it happens but its part of the risk selling in public lobbies..

Daddy,

Is it wrong to pay a hooker for sex?

And is it wrong to kill her after?

See son,

it's all about balance. If you kill her you can't pay her for sex anymore and if you pay her for sex you kill her a little each time... right here in her heart.

Thanks daddy! Can I have another 70$? Last time, I promise!

Sure son.

I don't have the heart to do it. I just don't. Whenever I see a red square moving on the map, I just go on about my business. I know how hard it is to move sh*t with 23 other dots ready to make a move on you. I wish I had that split chromosome; the one that makes me not give a sh*t about other people's property/stuff but it just isn't in me.

So yes. Yes, it's wrong. But that's just me.

Wrong, no but you'll get what's due you if you don't go passive afterward and any crew worth it's salt has "lobby control", so if you're that much of a dick you'll shortly get kicked...The question then becomes was it worth it to you.

Destroy cargo - minimise someone's income - increase shark card sales - become R*'s tool.

Crews and friends solve the problem too in crowded public sessions, there's nothing more rewarding and entertaining to me than doing protection for sale jobs. It feels like the big leagues of GTAO when it goes right and pretty heart pounding when it goes wrong.

Either way it's just a game, takes some players more time to learn the right way to win any of these lucrative missions, the most being sale jobs because of the risk and the total time it takes to complete a sale.

IMO it's morally wrong but legit and we have many ways to avoid losing sales. Playing online alone is wrong yet legit too imo but it's just another way to make fake money. We all have our ways.

Troof.

I have an "Up With People"--  "Kumbaya" vibe which of course never pans out. Always someone there to ruin my party. :( lol

Why anger someone into buying shark cards?

When R* implemented the optional objective to destroy another player's cargo, it must've sounded good in their minds, therefore to make the game more 'competitive' in their mindset. But they must have forgotten how frustrating it is for players having so much time wasted due to some trigger-happy motherf*cker feeling like they would benefit from doing such a thing.

If 'stealing' the cargo was what ambient players in the lobby were tasked to do; that would indefinitely provide a better balance for the game, and gives the owner of that cargo a fighting chance.

Seriously, how many people here got cargo destroyed then bought a shark card?

I don't know, placing flashing red blips on the minimap and pestering players to destroy the cargo by texting them about it seems like an instruction to me.

If it really was an invite, they wouldn't shove it in your face so much.

It wasn't about competition, bare with me and i'll tell you why.

We can make enough money with businesses to never have to worry about money, the potential is massive so R* has to make the risk higher than heists for example... but they can't just keep increasing the npc sliders because we will find a way to beat them 99% of the time. So how can they make new missions hard enough to make human players fail more?

....Put them in limited delivery vehicles then pit them against other human players who have full access to their freeroam arsenal and perks! It's brilliant!

So now you know why and there's many ways to learn how to win even against those odds. When you do it's worth every dime and all the risk imo... plus you get a nice bonus in really crowded sessions.

Or you can limit your net and rake in the big bucks if you're not willing to join the ****show, or play with friends for the best of both worlds :)

Agree DangerZone, you had me at red blips ;)

P.S. In case I come off as a toxic cargoblower I'm not, I always protect cargo. No joke my CEO name is Strapped Jocks, we offer the best low quality package protection in all of Los Santos. If there's a sale in my session i'm usually following the nearest potential enemy in my Akula, best part of freeroam imo is trolling the plebs who chase red cargo.

Today the day me and my little group of friends were in a public session. We were doing some business related work until my friend suggested to sell his full hangar of crates. I normally don’t do this with big shipments like these as it’s too much of a risk. My friend on the other hand wanted to take that risk and what do you bet, an off radar jet blew half the shipment up into dust.

I responded a little rough at first because clearly it’s not a nice thing to do. People just want to make money and if the game gives you a message to destroy it, it doesn’t mean you have to go ahead and ruin all the time he spend to get all of it together just for a small loan of 2.000$.

So I came up to him telling him my opinion (as stated above) and he fully disagreed. The message that comes up in the game, he couldn’t stop mentioning anything else. “It tells me to destroy it”. This is just implemented into the game so players fight each other and spend more money which results into more profit for the business.

Is it wrong destroying someones cargo? Opinions differ obviously but I’d like to hear from the community what theirs is about this topic.

If you are going to tell the story atleast tell the truth! lol That person was me and i have your text messages! lol🙄

1. I did not destroy the cargo in a jet. I was in a Rogue plane and YOU were in a jet trying to protect the cargo. It was 5 or 6 of you VS me on my own and i liked the challenge of taking you down, and i did. I took down your jet and cargo. I was taking on a Deluxo at the same time and got that too. Then you started to cry about it and sent me like 80 texts.

2. You kept claiming i was wrong for destroying the cargo. I told you it wasn't wrong as the game TELLS you to destroy the cargo. At first you didn't agree but then you went on to agree that i could play however i liked. But even though you agreed i could play the game however i like you kept texting me telling me i was wrong to destory it. Make ya mind up! You kept harrassing me by bombarding me with text messages claiming i was a try hard, griefer, asshole, pussy (Calling me a pussy while you were hiding in passive lol) and all kinds of dumb stuff. Then you demanded 1 on 1 at the beach.  I told you to stop crying as it was just a game and you claimed i was wrong and that you were just doing the right thing. I said "So calling me a pussy and harrassing me with crazy texts is the right thing to do is it? righto!"  Then you started saying random stuff that made no sense like "You don't destroy cargo! If your friend jumped off a cliff would you do it to?"  I said my friend wouldn't jump off a cliff and that made no sense whatsoever. You kept going on and on and on while i was trying to play. I captured the footage if you want me to post it all? The stuff you were coming out with was hilariously dumb and ironic. Claiming i was a tryhard (in a Rogue?) then demand 1 on 1 at the beach. Calling me a pussy from passive mode. Claiming i was a griefer yet it was 5 or 6 vs 1 and i killed you and went away. You were the one who kept griefing me with loads of texts claiming it was the right thing to do! lol

End of the day it is just a game. The game tells you to destroy the cargo, so it isn't wrong, that's part of the game. Even if you said it was morally wrong, opinions vary.   If the game said DO NOT DESTROY THE CARGO! and then i destroyed it, THEN i'd be wrong for destroying it. tata. 😃😗

He said that no players would result in the game being far too easy. There's nothing easy about the AI swarming you like flies and wrecking your stuff, which is what happens when there's no players.

Wrong? In a game where you're allowed (and encouraged) to be a dick to others? Hell no.

I don't blow up cargo unless I've been provoked before, but that doesn't mean I go and preach my own set of values to others, or condemn people who blow up cargo randomly. You do what you want.

It is and that is the biggest problem of the whole game, mainly because it sucks donkey balls in this PvP aspect...Stupid non-sense like bad sports points for blowing up PVs, BST spam, being able to quickly suicide yourself with sticky bombs(in general, I hate how easy it is to use them) or RPGs, sniper dancing, blips always on and you have to pay to get hidden...For a couple of minutes at best...And then there's the overpowered jets which can kill an entire session or just grief a player in particular without being punished. And then there's the cops...

PvP in this game is more infuriating than be fun.

Smooth Longsack

I just blew up a crew's bunker sale.  The one with the phantom wedge. They were terrorizing a lobby in jets then had the balls to sell right from the war zone. I went off radar and took out their remaining jet with my personal lazer. In turn, I was hit with a mkii explosive round. I bailed and heist warped to my avenger. I fly out and land some beautiful bombs from high up as they were heading down the freeway. My avenger  was ahead of them by hundreds of feet when they got hit.  I jumped out of my avenger and went passive so i could fully enjoy the plethora of hate chat I was due.
